@ThatSingerReactions This was performed 4 October, 1997 on that 'Hey, Hey It's Saturday' program, which has a whole load of context in itself, good and sadly bad, when it was revived. Red Symons was one of the 'characters' on that show,. Simons was the lead guitarist in the 1970's band, 'Skyhooks' where Graeme 'Shirley' Strachan was the lead singer, with hits like "I'm Living in the 70's" etc but he was like the "Pre-Simon Cowell, Simon Cowell" figure on their Red Faces segment. There are all sorts of connections and rabbit holes, with these videos and artists, performers and programs you're watching from Australia. :)
Human Nature were actually 'discovered' here in Australia (after they had a career here for 20 years!) by the great Smokey Robinson, who was totally amazed (with good reason!) and suggested Las Vegas and the Motown sound they were already performing here. They play there for most of the year and come back to Australia around each Christmas to see family and friends and do a tour of the country. Phil Burton (second from the right) left the group in 2022 - he is now back in Australia performing solo, but I did notice he does tour with the others when they are back here. They have been in the industry now for more than 30 years. Check out their acapella version of 'People Get Ready' They are awesome. 😊
Time to go down the rabbit hole that is Human Nature. Very talented Aussie singers who have been in residency in Vegas for many years. Have a listen to: He don’t love you, Wishes, Don’t Cry, Tellin’ everybody. There’s many more but these ones started it for them.

Part of what is so wonderful about John Farnham is his selflessness he loves to share the experience he steps back and lets the other performers step up to have their turn. Such a caring individual and Australian music is richer for it.
Yeah some singers these days always try and outperform eachother, but John Farnham doesn't try and do that and will sit back when performing with others and help them as much as he can without always trying to be the main focus.
Could not agree more! He is such a gracious performer and human being! He gives credit where credit is due, makes sure his back up singers and band members are known and appreciated, is happy to share the spotlight and wouldn't dream of our singing or overpowering anyone else that is on stage with him. This was a Hey Hey It's Saturday episode in 1997, when John Farnham was 48. You can see that Lisa and Lindsay are still with him in the background on backing vocals.
OMG John Farnham still grabs me after all these years. Followed him since l was 14 years old I'm 68 now, just love him. Thankyou for playing this song, it takes me back.
If you want to know what John Farnham's personality is like, try to find some 'Hey Hey It's Saturday clips where John is the guest'. His ad libs with Darryl are so funny. A real Aussie larikin.
Going to see the boys in April 2022 - rescheduled from Aug this year due to good ole Covid! They are world class these days & seasoned performers, you’ll love their work Nick 😃
OMG, you've discovered Human Nature! They're from my hometown so I feel a sort of local pride in them. You should look up more of their work. They're all in their mid/late 40s now, but they've been singing together since they were in high school together and their harmonies are AMAZING!
Human Nature is an Aussie vocal group. This clip would be about 20 years old. The group has been around for at least 25 years I think. Last I heard they had a residency in Vegas. Not sure what happened to that, with COVID etc. I love the way John holds back a bit in this performance so he doesn't overpower the group.
You know I think only very special people are given such a beautiful gift, and John has been blessed with a great gift, and at 72 it has not been taken away from him.
Oh lord human nature have been set in Las Vegas for yrs in residence gosh to 25 yrs plus and they still do those Hicksville dance moves and if you notice John stays low he lets them shine … he is beautiful to Aussie mussos
Human Nature have been around for like 27years now. One of our most successful bands ever. Consist of 2 brothers and 2 friends, in order bleach blonde is a friend(sorry forgot name), no2 is Andrew Tierney, no3 the other friend(sorry), no4 Michael Tierney who sang the most. This is actually their song. They have many hits and usually do Xmas albums aswell. Another band to check out similar to them is Savage Garden. Hugely successful duo.
Human Nature have been around since at least the 90s. They were taken under Smokey Robinson’s wing to do soul-type cover shows, and are still doing shows in Las Vegas last I heard.
All 4 members of Human Nature went to the same boarding school in AU. They are Toby Allen, Phil Burton and brothers, Andrew and Mike Tierney. They opened for both Michael Jackson and Celine Dion. Mike, who is singing lead for HN in this, is the youngest. He was only 13 when he was asked to join their singing group. Mike was in his last year of school when they were signed to a recording contract. In the vid, Toby, Andrew, Phil then Mike are the way that they are lined up. You should check out some of their songs, including the live concerts that they did. Both before and during their Las Vegas residence. They have the unique ability to reinvent themselves when needed. Not something that most "boy bands" seem to have the ability to do successfully. They are definitely worth checking out.
Gday Nick... mate this version with Human Nature is the most relaxed John has ever sung this song... once he started including this song with just his band (not with the lads above) in his concerts he really starts hitting you with some great ear candy that I know you like about John... so if you get the chance amongst your busy schedule check out John singing this song with just his band, I know you'll love it... I've been subscribed to you since you started doing John Farnham reactions, as you can tell you're genuine when it comes to reacting to John and his voice and his music... and that's the thing about John, especially live, once you hear his voice it leaves a permanant imprint on you... thankyou for taking to him and also some of our other oustanding talent we have here in Australia... keep the great work up...
One of my favs back in the day when it came out. I always think, that if you are going to sing with John, you BETTER be able to sing! Especially live! Waiting to see if you travel with John as far as Jesus Christ Super Star. I know how much you admire John (Aussies know why :) ) but his performance in that is mind blowing! Always puts the biggest smile on my face when I see you react to Aussie Artists. Lovin it!
@@ThatSingerReactions as a music theatre lover and self confessed snob, John’s Jesus is the best ever, hands down, no competition. I am SO glad it was recorded.
He has always wanted to help anyone involved with music! Just by singing with them he is giving them a leg up! He is incredible always has been and always will be!
Love the harmonies of human nature think a few are brothers are others high school mates, they had some great music and songs out in the 90s and 00s. Combined with Farnsey couldn’t get much better
I stumbled upon your channel today and I just love seeing your admiration for Johnny Farnham. Expect to be inundated by Aussies following his cancer journey, it's hitting us in the feels.
Human Nature was one of the biggest vocal groups in Australia 1990s. They do collaborations other stars. This was one of the biggest hits in that decade in Australia.
I just went and checked and I still have all of Human Natures CD's but all of johns is my priority. I get looks off other drivers cos I have him up loud and I'm singing and dancing in the car lol
Human Nature met in High School at St Gregory's College near Campbelltown in Sydney's south west. My high school and theirs always went to the formal together. (St Pats college) Andrew and Mike (closest to John) are brothers and were joined by Toby (far left) and Phil in high school. They formed 4 Trax. Later became Human Nature. Mike has always been a massive fan of Johns, and like so many of us, was teased mercilessly because of it. They're now based in Las Vegas where they perform around 250 odd shows a year singing motown.
I love watching you enjoy John sing. Your emotions are what I have felt since 1967, when I heard his first song. He is “The Voice” and a very special human.
💕💕 I went to school with the Human Nature boys. They started singing together in their teens in the mid 1980s. They were first called the Four Trax. By the time this came out they had been together a while. Yep - they did a long stint in Vegas - but sadly Phil recently left the band Not only are they incredibly talented, but I fondly remember them as very nice young men. 💕💕. They are worth checking out.
Human Nature have been on the Las Vegas strip for a few years now. This was when they first made in Aus and John being John lent his hand to bring them more Cred. They are an incredible group. Very very talented
This was just a great collaboration for both parties! It took Human Nature to a new level because of John’s fame which enabled them to break out of the boyband mode and do more soul and doo-wop stuff. It also helped John though. It reintroduced him to a younger generation of fans who weren’t around 10 or 20 years earlier. It’s a good fun song…can’t argue with that!
Human Nature formed their group while they were still in high school. They are all friends from school, Toby, Andrew, Phil and Michael (Andrew’s younger brother, Michael has the long hair in this clip). They are very well known here. They recently lived in Las Vegas and did an 11 year stint there. Returned to Australia and did a tour here before returning to Vegas without Phil. This clip with John Farnham was a long time ago in the 90s probably. They are wonderful.
Saw Human Nature in concert and they were awesome. We won tickets to the concert and got to meet them afterwards. Very lovely young men and were total sweethearts when my daughter burst into tears from all the excitement. Was so sweet.
Watching the joy in your reaction to John Farnham - who I’ve loved ALL my life, makes ME cry 🥰 he can still do it at 70. He’s amazing live 💖 I’ve seen him many many times. I’m so lucky 😊
This was really early in Human Natures career and was a dream come true for them to share the stage with the Godfather. Went on to 13 Studio Albums and an 11 year residency at the Venetian in Vegas with their Mo Town show.
6 months before Every Time You Cry came out, my mother (she's loved Johnny Farnham for 53 years!) said how much he should collaborate with Human Nature... 6 months later, this song pops up. 😍 You deserve to see Johnny live.... he's a special man and artist. 🧡 He really should do a stand up company gig at least once... he's really damn hilarious! Ever since Guy Sebastian won Australian Idol 18 years ago, we've been dying for him and Johnny to do something together. Hopefully one day soon. They are both incredibly gifted and spectacular. 🧡
That could be interesting. Both have supreme voices and know how to sell the lyrics. Not sure I can see them together ... Guy's runs and John's ad libs - could be all over the place!
Ok without reading too much of other comments- here’s a rundown Human nature consists of 2 brothers, Andrew and Michael, and their friends, Phil and Toby. They started up singing at school in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s….. my uncle was a prominent photographer that worked for the nsw department of education photographing anything from press conferences to big events like the schools spectacular, which is a yearly arena event showcasing nsw schools talent. These boys were regularly in it till they left school and my uncle had the pleasure of knowing them and the brothers’ mum, who is a school teacher and creative director for the schools spectacular, and very respected in her field After school they got picked up by a record company and had many many best selling albums, number one hits and successful tours in Australia. At this point of this song it was about 3 or so years into their career. Fast forward a few years they started doing Motown style albums which were also hugely popular and then they got noticed by Smokey Robinson, who helped them record more Motown stuff then convinced them to move to America, which they did and have been hugely successful in Vegas at the imperial palace and then at the Venetian hotel…. When covid started they came back to australia and have be even living here for a while however I believe 3 of them are or have returned to Vegas to continue residency at the Venetian (Phil decided it was time he moved back to Australia permanently with his now family- he will tour w it h human nature only when they come to Australia)… they all have raised their families in the USA but still call australia home I am a massive fan of their and have seen them tons of times. Never get bored of it. Also have had the pleasure of being onstage with them a few times when I was a choir girl and they sing at events like the Olympics opening ceremony and other big events And got everything I have of their mercy signed as they always have signings after concerts haha Toby (the bleached blonde guy) is singing the bass line - their style when doing acapella can be likened to the pentatonix
John has a truly distinctive voice. If you hear but don't see you know instantly who is singing. So much talent, and Human Nature complement him perfectly.
Human Nature were very young when they did this performance. They are a fantastic band, fantastic music, fantastic personalities. We are lucky to have such rich entertainment in Australia (& loving that you are appreciating it), 🎼.
Love Human Nature. My daughters bought me their Motown album for Mothers' Day about 16 years ago. I adore John. He can sing a little sharp at times when he's live. That's Ok. He's nearly perfect. I don't think I have ever heard Jimmy Barnes sing an off note.
Slick performances by all concerned. Impressive! I saw HN at a private function when they were much older. Ultimate professionals. Brother your reactions just make day. I'm gonna watch this one again right now.
Yep that song will be in your head for days. Love watching your face when John starts singing, the biggest smile erupts on your face. I have noticed that no matter who sings with John they always seem to have fun with him. Human Nature have been around for years & have been performing in Vegas for years. Smokey Robinson heard them & signed them up & the rest is history, they do some great MoTown. They went around & met some of the greats to find out how to sing their songs correctly & also how to move.
Human Nature are still performing. A talented, polished group. Love them. And of course John…❤️ I have become hooked on your videos and critiques…they are great 👍
Australia had a good amount of boy bands in the 90s. Human Nature were the only ones who stuck around. Perhaps because their sound and look was quite old fashioned. The were much more like the soul and R&B groups of the 60s and 70s than N'Synch or the Backstreet Boys. So mothers and grannies liked them too. Much like Farnham himself, they were nice clean-cut boys who sang like angels.
Omg human nature they my favourite group ever …you can go see them in Vegas They were around for over 20yrs as a 4 piece group …1 literally just retired I love the guy who does the deep sounds lol Donno how to explain that I could LITERALLY talk for hours with you about human nature omg 😱
The boys went to the same school in the choir, school musicals and local Christmas carols, two of the boys are brothers and their mum was the musical director of our joint schools end of year concert. The youngest Michael sang solo at ten years old. They were discovered after many many years and got a permanent residency at a casino in Vegas
Human Nature preformed 1000 shows on the Las Vegas Strip, which finished in 2014. The four of them all have great voices, they even opened for Michael Jackson on the Mystery World Tour in late 1996 to early to mid 1997
Human Nature has been together since they were teens...for over 30 years. They are the best. Just finished 10 years in Las Vegas. Boy band era was great but their Motown and old Rick and roll is just unbelievable they are so good.
The Schools Spectacular is an annual performance of song, dance, and musicians from the New South Wales public school system - government primary and high schools. There are between 2000-3000 students involved each year, is an arena show and is also televised each year. It has given birth to some greats of the Australian music industry. It started in 1989. The instrumentalists are students and teachers. The massed choir are students and teachers. There is an Arts programme for gifted students who are selected each year for extra training. The soloists usually come from these various special groups. The music covers pop, rock, musicals and jazz. Human Nature formed at school with 2 brothers and 2 other students as The Four Trax and performed on Schools Spectacular as a group from when the youngest Tierney brother (and shortest) was just 14 (from memory). They continued on through their school years performing each year , then stayed together as a boy band called Human Nature, eventually having a resudent show in Las Vegas for over a decade. They are well wirth seeing in concert if you get the chance. Although they’re a group who singing in harmonies, in concert they also sing individually with 1 of them into heavier rock, and 1 into musical theatre as their personal preferences. Another iconic Australian group who, from memory, (please correct me if I’m wrong) sang the Australian National Anthem at the opening of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
Human Nature was my childhood! I actually met them and got their autographs when I was 10. They are so incredibly talented. I think you’d really like their acapella stuff.
My very first band I fell in love with was Human Natureand is still one of my favourite bands. You would love their Motown songs that they spent years performing in Vegas. Amazing!!
The group is Human Nature, a well known Aussie group. They’ve been singing in Las Vegas for the past few years.

John Farnham hands down has 1 of the most incredible voices on the planet! I said what I said
You are hving such a bromance with John Farnham, I love it. What I love about you is that you can appreciate all genres of music even though not all of them are down your alley.

Yeah some singers these days always try and outperform eachother, but John Farnham doesn't try and do that and will sit back when performing with others and help them as much as he can without always trying to be the main focus.
Agree however Human Nature were already well known and successful before this song was released.

This is a song you'll have in your head all day.
Human Nature finished their 11-year Vegas residency and did a local tour in Australia this year.
The ear worm has started already

@@magpiegirl3783 all said and done they are professionals, they could totally make it work 👍
Ok without reading too much of other comments- here’s a rundown
Human nature consists of 2 brothers, Andrew and Michael, and their friends, Phil and Toby. They started up singing at school in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s….. my uncle was a prominent photographer that worked for the nsw department of education photographing anything from press conferences to big events like the schools spectacular, which is a yearly arena event showcasing nsw schools talent. These boys were regularly in it till they left school and my uncle had the pleasure of knowing them and the brothers’ mum, who is a school teacher and creative director for the schools spectacular, and very respected in her field
After school they got picked up by a record company and had many many best selling albums, number one hits and successful tours in Australia.
When covid started they came back to australia and have be even living here for a while however I believe 3 of them are or have returned to Vegas to continue residency at the Venetian (Phil decided it was time he moved back to Australia permanently with his now family- he will tour w it h human nature only when they come to Australia)… they all have raised their families in the USA but still call australia home
I am a massive fan of their and have seen them tons of times. Never get bored of it.
Also have had the pleasure of being onstage with them a few times when I was a choir girl and they sing at events like the Olympics opening ceremony and other big events
And got everything I have of their mercy signed as they always have signings after concerts haha
Toby (the bleached blonde guy) is singing the bass line - their style when doing acapella can be likened to the pentatonix
Great summary!
We've trained you well. ALWAYS take the live option with John Farnham!!
Either this is a feel good song or you're a feel good reactor cos I was smiling all the way through.
Yes Aussie boy band before boy bands were a thing. One of the longest residencys at Las Vegas also.
Human Nature are brilliant and they love John. I’ve seen them live three times and they put on a great show. Hoping to see them next year again too .
I saw Human Nature live in Las Vegas at The Venetian. The are fantastic, the harmonies are exquisite. You should check out the motion music they do.
Nick, never change, I love your reactions to our Farnsey. I just wish I could afford to send you requests for you to react to!
My husband since I was 7yrs old 😂 for 36yrs now I’ve been telling everyone I’m marrying John Farnham before I die 😂😂😂 still waiting!
Human nature are huge 🙂 They have been doing Las Vegas for 10 years ( I think 🤔)!
Human Nature are still performing. A talented, polished group. Love them. And of course John…❤️
I have become hooked on your videos and critiques…they are great 👍
Thanks again for another wonderful trip memory lane.💯
When this song comes on the radio in my car, I have to have it turned up full blast. 💕
I was lucky enough to see this tour, John Farnham and Human Nature. Absolutely fabulous
Human Nature.....Motown concert live........brilliant.
I love John always smiling
Australia had a good amount of boy bands in the 90s. Human Nature were the only ones who stuck around. Perhaps because their sound and look was quite old fashioned.
The were much more like the soul and R&B groups of the 60s and 70s than N'Synch or the Backstreet Boys. So mothers and grannies liked them too.
Much like Farnham himself, they were nice clean-cut boys who sang like angels.
John sang this at his 50th birthday televised concert along with an acapello song called “Who’s Loving You”. It’s SO good!!!
Omg human nature they my favourite group ever …you can go see them in Vegas
They were around for over 20yrs as a 4 piece group …1 literally just retired
I love the guy who does the deep sounds lol Donno how to explain that
I could LITERALLY talk for hours with you about human nature omg 😱
Human Nature's version of "People Get Ready" is probably their best accapella song
John is just on another level, isn’t he.
Oh I love Human Nature. So talented and the Motown music they sing is the best! Top shelf stuff!! 👍🏻❤️🎶
🇦🇺❤️👏👏👏👏always love this song‼️
This is my favorite song by John Farnham, late 90's , very happy era in history.
It’s just not John’s song it’s Human Nature as well .. 🙄
@@aussiekat6379 You're right. The backstreet boys were good in this also.
The first ever album I bought on cd was Human Nature. I think it was a self-titled album the song I remember most from it is 'people get ready'.
Omg me to I bought them and Savage Garden at the same time lol
🎼’telling everybody, telling everybody what we did last night” 🎼
@@kirsteencampbell6489 telling everybody, I never had a girl that felt so right
@@kirsteencampbell6489 trust me my friend you do not want me to sing 🎤 lol that’s one of my favourite human nature songs along with “ September girl”
Great song and performances.
Human nature are a great vocal harmony male group and very good
Human Nature has been together since they were teens...for over 30 years. They are the best. Just finished 10 years in Las Vegas. Boy band era was great but their Motown and old Rick and roll is just unbelievable they are so good.
When you see John sing you see the smile and joy on his face,
love seeing how you love our aussie singers, human nature are australias answer to backstreet boys... very talented boys!!!
You're right. He was unbelievably adaptable and he could fit into any genre of music.
Thanks! Fun song and great performance :)
Human Nature was my childhood! I actually met them and got their autographs when I was 10. They are so incredibly talented. I think you’d really like their acapella stuff.
I remember when this was performed on Hey, Hey It's Saturday. Great collaboration.
What a bunch of talented guys are the Human Nature?
Human Nature are awesome!!!
My very first band I fell in love with was Human Natureand is still one of my favourite bands. You would love their Motown songs that they spent years performing in Vegas. Amazing!!
You know so little about our fantastic talented culture. We are the force.
