@@love518salon I literally lost so much of my hair 😭 because it I won't be available on Friday, I think Wednesday or Thursday would be good preferably Wednesday like this but the hairdresser basically ripped my hair apart( like opening a bag of chips) and ripped out hair from the scalp I cried so much and all the lady was saying it that I need to take care of myself and she kept pausing saying that she can't do this it's so unhygienic. I love my hair but I was depressed and I just didn't care about anything at the time, she made me feel so bad.I'm still crying after 2 months and a half because my hair is much shorter and so damaged it can hardly style. Do you have any tips on how to regain and grow my hair. She said my hair is damaged for that someone that as heat damage and spilt ends combined. My scalp is still tender 😓
This is your ministry! You're not only making your clients' hair manageable but you're relieving them of that stress. Being empathetic and not casting blame and judgment is a blessing. I know your clients appreciate you and your patience!
Alternatively, you should ask them if they have something to say and quote them. Not everyone wants to be heard online but maybe they want to be quoted
I'll never forget my grandma one day sat me down (I was like 9 or 10) and spent 3 hours detangling a huge knotted mess in my neck. I always had long hair but I didn't comb it well enough and it just hurt too much. She was so patient and careful and didn't judge me.
I went through this, I was pregnant and found out my son was going to be born with a heart condition. DILV which means half a heart. I ended up going in to the salon and had my hair chopped off because I just couldn’t deal with it. It was super long, like almost at my waist and ended up like shoulder length. It felt really good after but I love how you help people from having to just chop it! Also, totally a white person here! Lol
I started experiencing depression as a child and all throughout my teenage years my hair stayed in a ponytail. I'd get such a big matt right where it would sit and it would stay there until I could find the time and energy to deal with it without hating myself. I still deal with it. My hair can get really bad before I'm able to care for it so I can definitely see how things like this happen. No shame in needing help.
I hope and pray she's finds peacefulness, healthiness and happiness. Thank you for being so kind and understanding. Also please look after yourself and don't overwhelm yourself. I know you care your clients but your health is important.
I've gone months without coming my hair, and when I finally work up the nerve to comb it out, I promise myself I won't let it get like that again. It's hard tho, balancing work, home and family, social life smh. Plus it's a long process in itself. Prayers up for the ladies that go thru this. I'm always embarrassed when i go to the salons like this, but im glad the stylist i go to never made me feel worse than I already do 😊
Honestly, I gasped at the block of matted hair and how your client must have felt having that, I'm so glad you were there to not only help with her hair but to simply listen. I hope your client feels so much better, you and your team are doing amazing work
I'm a CCU nurse and had a patient who had been in CCU, on a ventilator, for a month. Her hair was one big dreadlock when I got her. I had her for 3 shifts in a row. Each night I worked that knot out of her hair a little at a time. I then did a circular French braid so that it wouldn't tangle and mat again. Well, she passed away sadly. Her daughter wrote me a thank you letter and said that she was buried with the French braid I put in her hair with a flower crown. I was in tears. But I was I honored to have done that. You are a gift to your clients. Thank you for what you do.
It's been two years for me and I hide it as well. I'm a full time carer. So I get the whole strong doing everything by yourself . Please look after yourselves and please ask for help. I wish me and mum did it. We wouldnt be so sick now. Love yourselves please.
What amazes me as much as your patience and empathy with your clients is that your hands don't get cramps from so many hours on intensely repetitive movements as you work through the hair for hours on end.
Bless you. I had a client come to me with mattes down onto the scalp. It could not salvage it. I had to cut off the hair. It filled a carrier bag. They worked in the NHS and wore a hair net every day. I was a level 1 hairdresser. They were too embarrassed to go to a salon to fix it. Everyone has a story. Be kind and listen x
If everyone had someone like you in their life, I honestly believe the stars would shine a little brighter. Thank you for being you.... and thank your parents as well 😊
I can't imagine how beautiful she must have felt when you were done. And rightly so, because she has gorgeous hair. Give a woman the right hair cut, and she can conquer the world! Bless you both! 🥰
About 5 years ago I went through a major depression after I lost my first baby and wasn't brushing my hair and the back of it got so matted it was just a big ball and I didn't know you can go somewhere and have them help you so I just had to cut it all out. I think it's easy for people to not understand what other people are going through if they've never experienced it. I think what you do is amazing this woman looks STUNNING and I'm sure you did wonders for her on several different levels.
I’m so sorry you experienced one of the hardest pains I believe anyone can go through. Hugs, love. I’m thankful, even as a stranger, you’re still standing here today!
I love how much you genuinely care about your clients. You've created such a safe environment for them to reclaim an important part of themselves. Before I found your channel, I didn't know that there were more options than just shaving everything off. I've learned so much from you. You're doing incredibly important work. Thank you💚
This IS a human “thing”. I am white, and yes sometimes my hair is a really good judge of my mental health. I love what you do for these ladies, and I pray that this boost lifts them up and makes them whole!!
She's beautiful! And of course this happens. Our country doesn't support people through depression, parenthood, helping raise grandkids, etc. There are so few resources. Sometimes things happen. I love that you are able to do this without shame. The last thing someone who's struggling needs is another person coming for their character. 💜
I once just cut a strand of my hair when I couldn't detangle a knot out of frustration. And my hair is just wavy. I can't imagine the struggle to detangle such coily curls. Pure admiration for both ladies.
I love how non-judgemental and patient you are and how much time and effort you put in to helping your clients look and feel better. And then with how satisfying it is to watch you work and how soothing your voice is, I am loving all these videos. Thank you for being a positive light in the world!
When you said, “No one chooses this.” YES. You are so wonderful and such a pleasure to watch. Thank you for understanding what your clients are going through and being so non-judgmental. I just found your channel, and I subscribed five minutes into the first video I watched. I wish you all the success in the world! You deserve it. And also, your dancing is adorable. :)
The way you speak about your clients is so so inspiring. I want to choose empathy in my life everyday, and seeing you do that with hair is so inspiring.
EVERY PERSON THING!!! Thank you for your service!!! I don’t feel so alone. I’ve been working on my two daughters hair for HOURS!!! My girls have Autism and can’t sit for longer than an hour. It’s challenging but we just take it one day at a time. These people are BRAVE souls and compassion is warranted. Blessings to all!!! ♥️❤️♥️😇🙏💫
I've had to force myself to take a break from cutting hair due to over stimulation in salons, but watching you help these people is helping me remember why I love doing hair ❤️ I hope I can start again one day!
@@FreeSpiritMom For me, it was a lot of noise to process. I worked at a busy salon that specialized in haircuts, so having multiple clippers, hairdryers, and conversations going with the radio on while maintaining my own conversation with my client while using my clippers and hairdryers sometimes got to be too loud for me to handle. And having Autism, all this noise doesn't fade into the background for me; I am acutely aware of each noise.
@@ellejohnson2817 Salon suites can be amazing for some stylists, but it makes you a business owner, with all the stresses that entails: Paying all the bills, picking up all the supplies, doing all of your own scheduling, inventory, advertising, paying taxes as a business, etc. It requires a good bit of money up front, because you need a selection of products, which is expensive. And it can be difficult to grow your clientele in a suite. If a stylist doesn't have a local clientele, and they work in an established salon, their salon's reputation can attract new clients to their chair. Of course, it's the stylist's skills & personality that will keep the clients coming back, but the salon gets them in the door. But in a suite, the stylist will need something else to draw new clients: Maybe a large existing clientele and a great referral program, or a great social media presence. Don't get me wrong, a suite can be amazing for the right stylist, and many make way more money there than in a traditional salon. But it's a lot of work, it requires skills that aren't related to hair, and even an amazing stylist and business owner might fail if they don't have a local clientele. That said, I totally understand what the original poster means about salons being overstimulating! I have only mild sensory issues, and sometimes I get so agitated working in a tight salon: It is so loud, and hot, and humid, and hair gets stuck to your skin. I can't imagine what they've been going through. I hope they find the perfect place for them to work, because they obviously love the craft.
My respect for people with these types of curles gets higher every time when I watch these videos!! Because those hairs need so much more to take care than i have even imagine
You give them back what society made them give up, your work is precious and more people should be inspired to do the same, taking care of our hair does wonders to our mental health.

You are absolutely right. The lack of personal care is rampant across the board: women, men, black, white - all races. People are not taking care of their bodies, skin, hair, diet, mental health. We are all struggling with this huge societal change: politics and pandemic, self isolating and high crime rates. We WILL come out the other side of this, but there will be some marks/scars left. I am not black and I am not young, but your care and patience is noteworthy. Thank You for your videos!

I really resonate with these videos! a really close family member of mine wouldn't comb their hair for long periods every year bc they had a cyclical depression. after their depression, I'd go in and help them comb everything out and then style. you just never know what people are going through!
I'm absolutely loving these videos and how much love you give these wonderful people and how much patience you show them. You are such a nice person with a beautiful heart 💗 I personally went through this and you're correct, it's not like one day you wake up and say I'm not gonna do my hair. My hair is past my waist and it just got to much for me and yes it became a mess. I'm better now. But it could have been worse. Thank goodness I was able to get it out after three months of neglect. I can't imagine 6years. It is depressing. God bless you and all that you do. 💕

What I want to know is how do you keep the tender headed clients to keep going? Because I KNOW HOW PAINFUL combing and managing certain hair- like mine- is? Good job and I will watch and share your videos to help more women who go through these battles silently... To show them NOT TO GIVE UP!! 😁👍✌️🤗♥️♥️
I have fine hair like this woman and it tangles super easy. I can understand why she let it go while tending to another part of her life. Just leaving it wet over night not tied or braided can cause it to super tangle and after a week start mini mat balls. I have also suffered from depression and caused my hair to damage and mat. It is easier then people think depending on your hair type and when you're going through something it only makes you feel worse to have to try and care for it when it has gotten bad. Thank God for people like you 🙏🏾

Aww
You're a holistic stylist because you take care of the whole person, not just the hair. Wonderful !!
This is your ministry! You're not only making your clients' hair manageable but you're relieving them of that stress. Being empathetic and not casting blame and judgment is a blessing. I know your clients appreciate you and your patience!
I WOULD love to hear the clients thoughts after they are transformed. Such a beautiful soul
Seeww
I will discuss that with them.

@@abi1470 o,
@BlouBear77 your reply has nothing to do with what i was talking about...but okay...
@BlouBear77 it matters to me because no one on earth is a good person...including her, you, and me.
@@abi1470 😭😭😭 don’t think about it so hard like that
This is truly a ministry.
It really is 🥰
I'll never forget my grandma one day sat me down (I was like 9 or 10) and spent 3 hours detangling a huge knotted mess in my neck. I always had long hair but I didn't comb it well enough and it just hurt too much. She was so patient and careful and didn't judge me.
You just gave her a whole new attitude ! You were meant for that job . You are an ARTIST
It's good that she kept it respectful and didn't reveal her face...lots of respect
Yes you WERE totally meant for this job! You’re awesome & so are your clients for sharing their experiences 😘🙏🏾
🥰
What a statement, while I'm detangling their hair, I'm also trying to detangle their lives! What a ministry!!!
Lol
I pray your son is doing well 🙏
I started experiencing depression as a child and all throughout my teenage years my hair stayed in a ponytail.
Thank you 😊
I've gone months without coming my hair, and when I finally work up the nerve to comb it out, I promise myself I won't let it get like that again. It's hard tho, balancing work, home and family, social life smh. Plus it's a long process in itself. Prayers up for the ladies that go thru this. I'm always embarrassed when i go to the salons like this, but im glad the stylist i go to never made me feel worse than I already do 😊
Glad she found herself in your chair!
Gurl😭😭😭😭❤❤❤ #yougotblessingscoming
God bless you, what a caring angel you are❤
Amazing work. And from one hairstylist to another, your level of patience is a gift and a ministry. Love and Light to you always💖
Thank you ❤️
A grandmother of one, is a grandmother of all... love them.
It's been two years for me and I hide it as well. I'm a full time carer. So I get the whole strong doing everything by yourself . Please look after yourselves and please ask for help. I wish me and mum did it. We wouldnt be so sick now. Love yourselves please.
Hugs ❤❤
Thank you for sharing your story. I’m sending love & light your way!
You are truly anointed..God bless you ☝️
Chile this just made me burst into tears because I need the help, but I have no one....
Wish you the very best. Can't imagine what you're going through but it is possible for things to get easier. Don't give up! ❤️
**hugs** I'm so sorry you went through that. 😔❤
Thank you💚
Thank you ☺️
@@love518salon -Yes, Love you are an angel on earth. I found your out today and have been watching it for a long time.
This IS a human “thing”. I am white, and yes sometimes my hair is a really good judge of my mental health. I love what you do for these ladies, and I pray that this boost lifts them up and makes them whole!!
As a black woman, you spoke the truth 💯
You are adorable. Your dancing, your mission to help other people, your attitude about the people you help, so sweet.
You are the definition of "Not all super heroes wear capes". God bless you 🥺🙏
Yes, you did that! I’m sure she was over the moon happy and her confidence was blazing! 💙🎉
Your service and energy is such a blessing❤️
Thank you 🥰
You have the patience of Job and a spirit of an Angel.
Hey 👋 what does over stimulation in salons mean?
@@FreeSpiritMom For me, it was a lot of noise to process. I worked at a busy salon that specialized in haircuts, so having multiple clippers, hairdryers, and conversations going with the radio on while maintaining my own conversation with my client while using my clippers and hairdryers sometimes got to be too loud for me to handle. And having Autism, all this noise doesn't fade into the background for me; I am acutely aware of each noise.
@@lavenderbee423 got you. That makes a whole of sense. Thank you for explaining so I can understand better. I really appreciate it.
@@FreeSpiritMom you're welcome! Thank you for asking about it 😊
@@ellejohnson2817 Salon suites can be amazing for some stylists, but it makes you a business owner, with all the stresses that entails: Paying all the bills, picking up all the supplies, doing all of your own scheduling, inventory, advertising, paying taxes as a business, etc.
OH MY GOODNESS This is a beautiful transformation 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You're an angel on earth for doing this work.
"Both my parents are extra, my son is extra too"😂you're an angel.😇😇 No judgement, just love and understanding. I wish I was wealthy, to send you a million dollars to help you with the work you're doing. Helping these people get their lives back. As you said,You are meant for this job. Sending you love and prayers from Ireland 💕💕💕
Your patience and dedication to your clients is beautiful to see 💚
You’re so loving to these ladies. I’m sure you make them feel so relaxed about something that they’ve been afraid to ask for help. I hope everyone watching your videos absorbs your loving energy, and casts it back in the world.
❤
GOD BLESS U SWEETHEART FOR HAVING THE PATIENCE TO DETANGLE HAIR!!!
You can't pour from an empty cup!
Beautiful ❤❤❤
We are amazing, helping people get their beautiful hair back. ABSOLUTELY Fabulous. Cancer patients have this problem if they don't lose their hair. You are so needed. 💓💗💞💕😍
I'm so happy that these ladies have you to help them through this rough time in their lives! There are hundreds of reasons our hair could get to this situation, but now you are helping her get out of it.
What a complete joy you are!! I am an English woman in North West England and I came across your channel by accident, a few weeks ago, but your selfless service to these ladies has me completely humbled! And you are so right about all nationalities having the potential to perhaps find matted hair to be a problem, under certain circumstances. We should never be judgmental, but should rather help each other to straighten our crowns and behave like the queens and princesses that we are. Thank you for your sweet soul ♥️♥️♥️
You are a miracle worker. I'm so happy for this nice lady.
I have so much respect for you,you have a sweet spirit.

What an amazing video and an amazing thing that you do for people. 6 years this woman was fighting for her life and couldn’t even fully touch her head… I can’t even imagine the feeling for her, being able to feel your hair.. You do incredible things 💜
You are truly special, I want to happy cry.
You’re like a hug in human form 💞 I love your insight that it’s so easy to get into these situations but so, so hard to get out.
I am so happy I came across your posts. Your beautiful soul exudes from your videos. What a blessing you are for these ladies and your audience. May God continue to guide your hands and heart.
I love that you celebrate dance and that you have a good time, and that you take care of yourself as well. ❤
Love 518! You are a true angel. God Blessed you.
I really resonate with these videos! a really close family member of mine wouldn't comb their hair for long periods every year bc they had a cyclical depression. after their depression, I'd go in and help them comb everything out and then style. you just never know what people are going through!
Thank you for your understanding and compassion towards your clients. Your attitude will do just as much to help them as your hair skills.
Wow, your an angel. We need more like you.
I was lowkey waiting for her to turn around see her smile, but I can easily imagine how relieved and happy she was. ☺️
I cannot believe you got it loose. You are marvelous
I'm absolutely loving these videos and how much love you give these wonderful people and how much patience you show them. I love the way you show them nothing but love and how you state that obviously they've been going through something. The world definitely needs more people like you in this world. Xx
This is purely magical!
You are meant for this job. God bless you. ❤🙏🏾
Watching your videos and listening to you words just fills my heart with warmth. The way you help people without judging them is amazing. You aren't only dematting hair but heeling people emotionally.
Just came across this. You my lady are phenomenal. I have super fine super slow growing hair but slowly winning my battle. Great work from Australia 🇦🇺. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm a Puerto Rican woman with really curly, kinky hair. When I watch your videos, they make me want to cry. My hair is so tender and my head is so tender headed.. When I was a kid, I would hide when they tried to brush or comb my hair because I'm the only one in my immediate family with this type of hair- my sisters have lose and straight hair like my mother's.. She has bone straight hair. I received my beautiful, tight curls from my father.. your work is amazing.. I've also decided to go into a service business(s) of personal training and massage and so i understand the lives that can be touched with a kind heart and someone who wants to help.♥️💛♥️I wish, in my 25+ years of working with clients that I was able to document their personal journeys because the stories are rare!
What I want to know is how do you keep the tender headed clients to keep going? Because I KNOW HOW PAINFUL combing and managing certain hair- like mine- is? I wish know HOW GREAT IT FEELS AFTER it gets washed and brushed through😁 it has to feel so good to these women!! SO HAPPY I FOUND YOUR VIDEOS👍✌️
THE WOMEN THAT SEEK YOU OUT ARE AMAZING!!
Thank God for people like you 🙏🏾
I’m glad I came across you. You are a blessing to watch.
This beautiful woman!!! You took fifty years off the back of her head that she needed gone so she could be herself again. Her hair is stunning at the end! But you are stunning too, not just outside, but inside. You give a few hours or days of your life, but they receive a lifetime of self worth and confidence back. You are so precious!
It’s the swinging of the head for me lol.
Hey girl HEY

Ugh this blessed me sooo so much, I’m so glad it turned out this way❤️
You're such a blessing🥰! I wish you were in the Philly/So. Jersey area so I can send my mom to you. Her hair hasn't been washed or combed in yrs & she won't let me do it.
