    Steps:
    1. Using around medium or size 4 yarn, long tail cast on 100 stitches or 112 stitches for a large adult size.
    2. Put a ring on the start of the first stitch, so you know when you finished a row. The pattern you want to follow is knit 2, purl 2.
    3. Continue doing this until the hat is around 11 inches or the size you want.
    To crown or finish the hat:
    Knit 2 stitches as one, purl 2. Do this until the end of this row. Now knit one, and purl 2 as one. Then continue until the end of the row.

    Hello, Miss Sara. I noticed that on first round, you did knit thru the back legs and regular purl stitches. Then, on Round 2 and onwards, you did regular knit stitches but did purl thru the back legs. Then you did both knit and purl thru the back legs. I am confused. Does doing thru the back legs make the stitches pop out or maybe some other reason? I'm sorry for the questions but I love the hat and totally confused 😂😂😂

    • @fiona2422
      @fiona2422 3 года назад +1

      You would just need to change colours.
      When you’ve finished with your first colour, A, you will then want to change to your second colour, B. To do this, knit all you require with A and then go as if you’re knitting again normally, but change the wool. Leave a tail and knit as you have been, just with colour B. I hope this helps :)

    I mean you still drop the 1st needle and hold the other until the end?

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  3 года назад +1

      Yes you drop the needle then continue with the next section until you complete the round and then start again by dropping your needle and work on the next group. If you have smaller circular needles like 16in you don’t have to do this method, you simply knit round and round until desired length. I hope this helps 😉

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  2 года назад +1

      It’s probably due to tension. Try holding the yarn in different ways to see which way helps you maintain the best tension and don’t use thick needles with thin yarns. Always stay within the recommended needle size for the yarn you plan to use. Good luck and keep trying 👍😉

    I use circular needles but never saw this method. Why not use a smaller
    Size w a shorter cord??

      It’s just another method for when you don’t have smaller circular needles. I personally prefer to use shorter cords too when posible. Thanks for watching

    In the first 2 rows we use k2tbl, p2
    In the others we use k2, p2tbl isn't it?

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  3 года назад

      Not sure what k2tbl means but In all the rows you k2, p2 if you make it in the round like I show in the video. If you’re making it in rows which is not what I show in the video then you would k2, p2 in the first row turn and p2, k2 and repeat rows 1 and 2. Later this week I’ll upload a similar hat that I did in rows so perhaps that will help.

    I am new to knitting. I see the knit and purl but say at 4:31 she is not doing it the same as the rest of the rows. She is going directly into the stitch instead of between the first and second. i watched a bunch of tutorials and I am seeing others also do a slightly different ways. like how they wrap their string. under or over. I am confused. Anyone have an answer before i begin my first project please???

  • @KittenBowl1

    boy, the way you knit and purl are not the standard continental way. Very confusing...
