Nice driving; liked and subbed! I’ve sold my track FK8 for being a little too dull and boring on track and am looking to buy an S2000. Any advice on where to get started?

Cheers mate ! You'll have great fun in an s2000 on track, its such a rewarding car to drive. Depending on experience, get hold of a standard car and use it as is, then you can build up to some mods (suspension etc) it will feel slow compared to the FK8 mind 👍

oneEYEziggy thanks, i’m expecting it to be slower as mine was about 400whp but it’s more about the fun and rewarding drive of the S2k. Plan is to get a standard preface model and build up the mods over time.

Would you recommend an S2000 as a weekend toy / track car? I’m toying with the idea of one but it would be my first RWD car so slightly nervous. Any advice or tips would be super handy.

Absolutely, its such an engaging car to drive on and off track. The facelift models have a milder setup and better rear geometry making the car more neutral at the limit, this would be a better choice for you if you're a bit nervous. 👍

@@oneEYEziggy1982 If I were to get one, I actually have a preference towards the AP1 or pre-facelift cars. I've been told that even a geometry and some better tyres would help to make the car more neutral at the limit or do you think more would need doing?

Balance wise it depends on the model year you go for as the spring and anti roll bar rates change a fair bit. On the pre face lift I would add rear bump steer toe arms and that will dial out bump steer, also as you say a good alignment (be sure the car you buy has a recent alignment with print out) though the bolts will likely be seized. Go with a tyre with a stiffer side wall, i recommend Bridgestone s001. I own a Garage around Cardiff and specialise in S2000 if you purchase one and need anything doing 👍
