- What an experience! Is Sinulog Festival in Cebu be the best festival we've ever been to?... For days prior to the festival we had heard and seen so much excitement and build up to the event, but I don't think we were actually READY for how crazy this day was.

TBH, this Sinulog is very mild and orderly compared to pre-pandemic celebrations.
before covid, sinulog=chaos and bedlam where anything goes.
That latest Sinulog celebration was not as spectacular, crazy and wild as it was before the Pandemic. They changed the venue. If you only go to Fuente Osmena Street vicinity in the central business district, there you could witness thousands of people still celebrating in traditional ways where people were so wild and crazy and had paints on their faces like Mardi Gras although there was no parade.
Only mad dogs and Englishmen walk around in the heat of the day.... We traditionally hold important events in the cool of the day from 3pm to midnight hhh. That's the difference between East and West and ne'er the twain shall meet. It is said. Enjoy!
Every places in the Philippines celebrate fiesta...fiesta in cebu is one of the famous because cebu is the oldest city in the Philippines...🤗😍

The Sinulog festival is the grandest of all the festival in the Philippines. In my first time, I virtually attended all the weeklong events, starting with a daily procession in the afternoon of the Sto. Nino, basketball tournament, beauty pageant, daily sumptous feast of your favorite Cebu dishes on a stretch in Cebu City proper.

this weekend ( Jan. 20-22) will be Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City. One of the country's biggest festival and has been declared as Hall of Famer in Best Tourism Event category

Glad you enjoyed it. It actually looks less wild now. I remember watching Juicy vlog's prepandemic Sinulog vlog and there was a lot of paint smearing. I remember their faces just covered in paint and everyone was just going crazy.
Anyway, hope the sunburns isn't too painful. Skin looked so red like Lechon, lol.

Next Time guys try Ati-Atihan ( The Mother of all Festivals in Philippines) its held every 3rd week of January = non stop street dancing that you can participate
Tomorrow january 22 there will be a Sinulog sa Carmen Grande Parade and those 10 contigents who back out last Sinulog are joining the event.
Your both lucky to witnessed the festival not all foreigners are lucky.

Not so good this year, you’re suppose to get splattered with paint and be very colorful. It’s typically much more lovey than that. I guess it’s the first time they have it again after the pandemic.
You must just stayed in one place and see the parade, mango street is the good place because its near the sports complex stadium where they have contest who ever wins, the tail/ last part of the parade are people who body paints where you can join in the parade and paint someone bystanders. Anyways, tiry experience very hot also walkin the street isnt it😜🥴🤙😎

That's awesome experience Sinulog in Cebu so you must try also other festivals in the Philippines. I think Ilo-ilo this coming February. The most known Festivals in the Philippines. Sinulog, ati-atihan,maskara, dinagyang and i forgot to other festivals around in the Philippines

The float that says ABSCBN was actually a float of Filipino celebrities. There are other TV Network that joined the parade. I think you are at the end of the parade that’s why you didn’t see the actual performance of the participating team. The next festival which is nice to experience is the Panagbenga flower festival in Baguio. But you have to fly again back to Manila and ride all the way to BAGUIO.

Hi, glad you guys had experienced the festivities at our coutry. If you both could only be at the same time in other places like Kalibo Ati-Atihan, Buling-Buling in Pandacan, the Tondo Fiesta, Dinagyang in IIo-ilo city, it would be a fantastic celebration for you Dion and Louie.
That big celebration in Cebu sinulog every year wow are u in Cebu now enjoy explore in Cebu to joen parade in local pit senior so nice carnaval 1million of people god bless stay safe
Perhaps if u can try kadayawan festival this year as well.. its in Davao City every 3rd week of August. It’s a celebration that showcase the 11 Major tribes of Mindanao. It is actually more cultural than any other festivals in the Philippines. And while ur there u can visit Samal island which is just 15 min ferry ride from davao city and as well and visit Dahican beach in Mati Davao Oriental. They’ve got surfing there like Siargao..Google it 😉
