- Asus Strix boards are way too expensive right now. They have gone up tremendously in price. I decided to give their TUF series a try and was impressed by the quality and the performance.

You explain things well without waffling thank you
you actually helped me dude im planning on building a pc soon, thanks, i subbed for your sake
Awesome thanks!
Thanks for the review.
Switching over to an AMD build and went with a 5900x. I had the issue where the prior board wouldn’t even try to start and no option to flash a bios. Your video helped a ton in finding a good board to use to get into the AMD ecosystem!
Glad the video helped!
I have Tuff Gamming Wifi, and the Tuff Gaming Pro x570. I llove these mother boards because they have great VRM but not the bells and whisles as the Strix but for price to porformance you can't beat it, and it is very reliablle mortherborad that you can't go wrong when you buy them. I'm very happy and for 3t0 11/2 years no problem whats so everout of both x570 mother boards using a 3600x to a 3700x to 5600x to a5900x no problem.
Awesome video, I'm about to buy two, one for my server and one for my gaming pc. 5500 and 5700x cpus respectively- so I'll need to update the bios, and this video calmed my concerns about being able to do that
you probably won't have to update the bios for those cpu's. This video came out wen the new ryzen cpu came out and the boards did not have support at the time but now most if not all boards bought today have the bios already with the support. I would run them on a bench first just to make sure but I am pretty confident you should not have to flash the bios to support the new cpu's
I had to see the biosflash.
Thank you!
Happy to help!
I honestly really liked how you said the difference between the pro and plus, also the flashback guide was unexpected but super helpful. I’m a lil worried about the process
it can be a little unerving to do it, as even the most seasoned techs have bricked a board. just follow the leds blinks and you should be good.
@@DLMtechgarage Appreciate it man :)
You can also flash the bios on line without the need for a flashdrive.
I got this board in the UK for £100 used on eBay. So far so good, just needed a cheap way into pcie 4.0
yea it's solid, i think the strix variants are more for looks and that's how they get you, this thing has been solid in overlcocks and has never let me down.
My Tuff Gaming x570 Plus WiFi actually came ready for the ryzen 9 5900x. I didn’t need any other cpu. Bought it January 2021
I did a ton of research win I bought my board. I was kinda nervous buying the model without the ez flash knowing I didn’t have any extra CPU’s laying around. I took my change hoping the BIOs was already updated and thankfully I was. I bought my board on Amazon if that helps any. Good luck
Did you buy it on Amazon
Hey wondering if it supports Ryzen 7 5800x
Just to let you know a year later I just got one and put a 5900x in it and didn't have to flash the bios, the bios has since been updated. So far I like the board, no problems.
been good to me, had it 2 years now.
I have the same motherboard, but cant get the pc to boot up without going via the bios everytime. I've tried everything, I wish you'd shown us setting up your bios. great motherboard very pleased with it otherwise. Cheers
My MSI X570 Unify just went bad, starting doing a boot cycle. I just ordered this motherboard. I really hope it lasts 🙏. First time going asus and I've heard good things.
solid board. never had any issues, overclocks good, only complaint is the yellow but that's just me lol...
Currently thinking about upgrading my first gen Ryzen. Going for a 5800X for the CPU but still deciding on the board. Looking mainly at a STRIX B550-F and a MSI B550 Gaming Edge, but also considering this TUF board due to price. The main thing that's holding me back from getting the X570 is that fan. People say it's always on and Asus does not have chipset fan control in their UEFI, and if you can replace it if you ever need to. Back in the day chipset fans always died but you could at least change them.
The fan is quiet and you don't hear it at all. The key thing to remember in my opinion is good maintenance. I dust out my computer once a month and even old hardware I have from years ago the fans still run great. Dust is what ruins them. But I do hate you can't swap them like we use to. I have had the board for over a year and keep it clean and fan is still quiet and smooth.
Same bro… i have the 5800x and thinking about getting this motherboard too.
@@DLMtechgarage hey can u post videos on how you clean your rig
@@musannatausif6200 ruclips.net/video/XqoF_mzeaV8/видео.html
I never had probllems with my 2 tuff gaming x570 wifi, and wifi pro. chpset fan so don't let that stop you from buying this board, at the end of the day no matter what motherboard you buy all have problems so just get what you really want and have some fun.
Very good !
Thanks
@@DLMtechgarage You're welcome ! 🌞😉👍
I have the same one bought on December 2, 2019. I ordered it through Amazon International, because in my country it cost around $390 crazy price. Until today I have had no problems, even recently I tried an oc to my 3700x at 4.3ghz all cores and it worked. I never had an asus before, but I'm not complaining about quality / price, it was very good
def a solid board.
Mine broke after 2 months
@@mrgluegtick760 Asus RMA is pretty good, If not done so def do it!!. I have done it with boards that I was not the original owner.
@@DLMtechgarage thank you so much i will contact them i hope they can refund because i already have 2 other boards

Hi! I just bought this same mobo just because of your video. It helped a lot as I planned to use a 5900X too. The components are on their way to my place as I don't live in USA. I'm wondering if you measured the available space for the upper MV.2 port. I bought a Firecuda with heatsink, but I'm not sure if the Dark Rock Pro leaves enough space for the MV.2 heatsink.
Never considered that. Let me know if it works.
My MSI B550 had let me down. I might get this next
good board, 3 years still going strong.
It's Asus, so it's good. I've been using Asus boards/gear for over 35 years and always had something worth selling when that time came, good call.
Yea I have alwasy been brand loyal to them. Just hate how much they have raised their prices lately.
@@DLMtechgarage yeah, they all did a bit.
Hey there, thanks for the review, I know I’m late to the party but I have a quick noob question to ask, what all needs to be connected to the motherboard (along with power supply) just to show me the LED indicator status? (The one that flashes in the video)
just the psu 24 pin and cpu power. you don't have to plug anything else in.
I think X boards you don’t have to worry about them not supporting Zen 3. Most should support Zen 3 out of the box. It’s usually the B series boards that you have to play 50/50 on if you have a Zen 3 Ryzen on hand already. But I already put my order in for this board as I had the Plus variant previously (loved that mobo).
Edit: Surprised yours didn’t come ready to support that Ryzen.
When I bought the board the ryzn 9 5900x had not been released yet and all the x570 boards released during that time did not have the support yet. a few months after the release of the cpu the boards came standard with the support. Every now and then when building computers from people an older x570 new in the box shows up without the bios support.
@@DLMtechgarage Yeah I actually just realized that now. I fell into the trap with the misinformation and stuff. People are saying that if you got an X570 board. You don’t need to worry about bios updates. It’s wild.
I just ordered the plus variant hoping to god don't have to flash since this is my first build
The plus and pro do not have same WiFi
@DLM tech garage What button were you hitting to get the bios to come up?
del
I'm about to pick up an ASUS TUF x570 Pro Wifi and it says that they are AMD Ryzen 5000 series ready. I assume this means out of the box, i.e. these Mobo's (May 2022) will have the bios on them already to support the CPU for a new build? Not sure if you have any information on this as I know your video is 8 or so months old :)
by now the all the mobos def should have support for the 5000 series. When I bought mine it was during the same time as the release so I had to flash it, but I have recently bought x570 boards to include this one and it had the newer bios already flashed
I have the x570 plus board but no button for the bios that you talk about? Do I just insert the USB And let it go?
if it does not have the button you have to do it in the bios.
So I have this board with Ryzen 9 5900x. I'm very new to pc building as this is my first build. So I need to get a usb drive 2.0 and reformat it? Just a little confused on the ez flash
depends when you bought the board. most boards purchased recent already come preflashed with the bios for the support. but yes, use a 2.0 usb, load the bios, make sure you do the rename as instructed in the instructions and then follow the flashback procedures. its a little nerve racking but give it time and wait till you have no flashing before doing anything. if you jump the gun you can brick the board.
Complete beginner here the only thing I’m worried about with a MB that has a flashback button is accidentally clicking it. What would happen if I just randomly clicked it one day?
you have to hold it longer then a second to do anything. trust me I have bumped it many times blindly installing ubs's lol...
Looking for a little input for my buddy that I cant seem to figure out. My buddy just got this mobo, paired with a ryzen 5 5600x, 2x 3200mhz crucial ballistix 16g(Total). He got from microcenter prebuilt, was an issue and microcenter is trying to screw him on it, hes trying to install windows from windows given usb. when hes booting from the UEFI Usb it constantly does a restart, never even gets to the point of picking a language or selecting a hard drive to install windows too. anyone have some ideas?
I would check the memory settings in the bios. make sure they are set to the correct speeds, then try a bios update.
Ye weird thing right now these b550 and x570 board are cheap as chips but teh processors are still precey, weird situation Intel - expensive baords cheap CPUs, AMD - cheap baords expensive CPU. Still was overal cheaper to go x570 for 125 and a used 5600x for 245 instead of a b660 for 220 (YIKES) and a i5 12400 for 200.
very intersting. Never realized that but you are right. Wonder why that is!
Anyone had issues with that chipset fan? I have an opportunity to get one but I hate the idea of a little fan that I probably can't replace and I don't see aftermarket options
3 years and still works great and silent!!
They make a version 2 now with out the fan for 10$ more
Nice! Wonder why the got rid of the fan? It's barely audible.
i have the TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) can I install 8tb HDD on there
yes
@@DLMtechgarage thank you
I haven't run it yet just got done with my PC and got this same motherboard, I am a little mixed up with the bios flash, I got the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Will I have to flash the bios? thanks.
you should not have too, that cpu is zen2 and only zen3 needed flashing. plus boards made this year come preflashed with the newer bios so if you do go zen 3 you should not have to do it.
@@DLMtechgarage thanks your right; )
How would you rank this one between tomahawk b550 or x570? Same or better?
I have the tomahawk b 550 and this one is way better. Better for overclocking, more stable, easier bios UI and better performance. Tomahawk was solid and ran great but I like to bump my clocks and this one was easier. as far as b550 and x570 the only difference really is the extra pci lanes, they run in gen 4 usb type c, more usb ports and that's about it. Depending on what you want to use it for will determine if it's worth it. just normal streaming, gaming, and use b550 is fine. if you have a more ambitious plan then go x570 but I do recommend ASUS either way.
Hi man, thanks for the video, can you help me with this doubt. Do I have to plug the eatx12v_1 and the eatx12v_2 at same time? My specs Ryzen 7 2700x, rtx 3070ti and 32gb ram.
no you don't, you only use that plug if you are planning on overclocking due to the cpu needing more voltage.
@@DLMtechgarage thanls for the reply, my problema is that my speed rams do not go up more than 3000 mhz so I do not know if I need to. Increase the volt of the ram.
@@luisvoronov have you updated the bios recently. their was an update for ram support not too long ago. I don't have the connector in and I run 3600mhz trident z with no issues. never had to run the voltage to get stock speeds but even then the cpu supplemental would not effect that.
@@DLMtechgarage yes the BIOS is updated to the latest one, I think I am going to clear the cmos of the BIOS, maybe that can help my ram. Thanks.
I just paired this motherboard with a Ryzen 7 5800x3d and cannot get anything to display on monitor..
I have the green boot light on and everything is plugged in right.. please help
hard to say but is the bios updated?? lots to check,
What case are you using? I'm looking for a case with a front panel type c port that has good airflow around $150 but cheaper would be preferred. I want to get a Ryzen 7 5800x, but I've read it runs hot. I'm thinking about pairing it with a Noctua NH-U12S or NH-D15 hoping its able to keep things cool considering where I live temps get over 100f in the summer lol. I'm new to pc building, so I'd like to save money where I can unless the cheaper parts means my components will get fried in the summer :/
I'm using a Corsair 4000d airflow. Better arifliw then most cases for the $100 price range. The better airflow also hopes with reducing fan speed to run a quieter fan setting. Did a review on that case on the channel with my build. It was the non air flow version which still performed well. The air flow version is significantly better. Case has the USB c and is easy to build in. In that build I used the be quiet dark rock which is equivalent to the noctua. Keeps my 5900x cool and quiet!
@@DLMtechgarage Thanks so much for the help its very much appreciated!

Yup Corsair 4000D is super nice. That’s what I’m using
I went with the thermaltake Core P8 case great airflow with plenty of room for 360mm rad.
What if I have this motherboard but no little button to Flash Bios? How do I Flash bios then?
use and older cpu to get a boot screen and go into the bios and do a flash that way.
Hey i just brought this motherboard do I have to do anything to make it work with 5600g?
if you recently bought it then it should post fine. The newer made models of this board come already flashed for the new AMD chips. I bought it when it first came out and you had to flash them!
asus / "TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) " bios i bought last year tryed to register thru ASUS they said the sticker on th MOBO and serial when checked CMD asus said not correct # and would not register it so no way to refund if goes bad last bios update i checked again thru CMD and now showed no serial # for MB in bios at all nothing just updated bios again same thing no serial # showing seems asus really dont want you to register this MOBO . i guess their fix for incorrect serial # was to not store it in bios now . any one else own this MOBO Run CMD as admin enter this wmic bios get serialnumber and hit enter . to check
wow that's crazy!! I just recently changed boards and sold this one, wish I still had it to check!
hey i bought one, amd ryzen 7 5600x and rtx 3060 , when turning it on it brings up rgb but no post just a flash and rgb stays on motherboard, any fixes?
crazy thing is that my old prime 450 motherboard works wit it fine tho
does the board fun, like the fan spins etc... with no post. If so you probably need a bios update, if not check the cpu and pins along with the memory, ryzen is picky with memory and if you are running low speeds that could cause the issue. if no power and fan spinnging then look into the psu.
Does the tuf x570 plus work with ryzen 7 5800x3d?
yes
I have x570 plus mobo, does it need to update bios for ryzen 5500?
If you bought it recently then no. This applies to when the new ryzen had came out. the boards did not have support back then.
Does it have 1 m.2 or 2 m.2 slots under that heat sink?
it has only 1
I'm confused between buying asus tuf gaming x570 pro and asus prime-x570 pro/csm.
both great boards, comes down to matter of looks. the prime, has a better versatile look for different types of builds. the tuf has that yellow which can clash if not considered in a build.

I just bought one… it was doa
Wait I need to download the bios to a usb before I even turn on my pc with my motherboard even if I’m just replacing the motherboard?
