This aquascape is incredibly dynamic, with a captivating balance throughout. Multiple focal points guide the viewer's gaze, creating a visually engaging experience. The selection of dark driftwood is excellent, as it naturally directs attention to the vibrant plant life. Fantastic work, MJ!
the amount of filtratiom and fast growing plants should easily take care of this high bioload and i love how you choose a group of smaller fish with larger schools to make the tank look so alive while not overcrowding it!
A fantastic tank as always, definitely among my favorites that you have made! Incredible. Looking forward to hearing updates about the butterfly cichlid fry.
All of your tutorials have been incredibly inspiring! They've given me the confidence to move from a nano tank to a slightly larger aquarium, and I’m excited for the journey ahead. I really appreciate all the great content and attention to detail in every video. Keep up the amazing work! I have one question: what is the difference between lily pipe shapes, the one you use in this video and, for example, a circular shaped one? Difference in performance, water flow etc. Maybe this would be an interesting topic for a separate video. Cheers! 🍻
Coś niesamowitego , prawie nic nie rozumiem (niestety) , ale Twój sposób przekazania informacji i atmosfera spokoju powoduje że wszystko jest jasne i proste , dziękuję
Definitely it's waaay too much! I would send this tank to my house, fully stocked with fish and plants. 😜😉 I really love these set ups. Gives me plenty of enthusiasm and ideas!
Hi! The balance of the tank is out of this world. I like to see there a special shrimp then I really love and you've got a really nice size of tank for them and I think all the people who entered into that room will enjoy very much : atyopsis moluccensis (wood shrimp) Thanks for sharing you work and help us to grow on this beautiful hobby.
Amazing new setup! I loved the old setup to with that 2 pieces of corbo root..let me buy that 2 pieces corbo root so i can build a replica off that tank for my own👏🏻
Living art 🖼️ Everything is perfect ur really an artist 👨🏻🎨 I wish you make a video on how should we balance out our newly set up tanks with time … thank you
Lovely. Thanks. Not sure fry can cope with some of the medium sized fish once the parents abandon them. But I have had cichlids successfully raise silly numbers of fry in a community tank. They lose the first batch - inexperience, and a semi-cave of bog wood or rocks seems to help. I would have kept my arms out and allowed the stem plants to grow on for a few weeks if fry survival was an objective.
Thats One of the best aqua scape I have seen in some time, inspired by you, I also wanted to make an aquarium, I was in a tight budget, I bought the glass, the plants, and a diy co2 setup, but then the glass broke for some reason, it was a 4 feet tank so the glass was quite expensive, and as a student i dont have any money left after spending that much 😂, guess the hobby is not for me.
Hi MJ, I think this is one of your´s coolest aquascaping.....kudos. I think there´s a little too much fish to my taste. I have a few red cherry barbs on my tank . They did what they always do and one female made it......she´s a month old now. I never saw the little babes though, I could notice only when she already had one cm or so. Pretty nice though but I guess you´re used to this.
Nice aquascaping. I love spider woods bcuz they take less space as compared to other woods. You have used multiple spider woods for your scaping but try to use single large spider wood for your next setup that would be awesome. I have 4ft tank with 2 large spider woods and their approx size is 2ft each which looks beautiful in tank. Anyways thumbsup for this tank and specially plantation is awesome...
Did you just add the Buce in cracks in the bottom of the spider wood? Looks like there may have been some moss added as well? I loovveee this layout so much. I think it would be so cool to do a before and after of the plants you choose. I think often as new/moderatly experienced aquascapers, we dont know what plants look like fully grown. The plants here look so fantastic, but look totally different when planting.
I wouldn't change anything in this tank I would luke to just see how it's developing ❤ So mj sir can you make video on how to make diy fertilizers for plants as a student not everyone can afford those high prices products atleast for now It would be very beneficial for us ❤ ❤from india 🇮🇳
New to aquascapping and i really love your channel, any chance you kan shred light on how many of each plant you used i this tank. Im planing to scape my first 240l
Beautiful tank MJ. The Banded barbs are stunning. Will you be adding shrimp at some point? Or do these fish eat shrimp? Except for the Oto's, I have never kept any of the other fish you currently have in tank. One more question. Have you measured the walls in that room yet to see how many tanks will fit? 😊
really a very nice aquarium! good work again MJ. a little question, why is the co2 dropchecker so high? most people place it 10cm from the bottom. very seriously curious about this
Thanks! I don’t think it really matters that much where you place the dropchecker. If you have decent flow in the tank the CO2 concentration should be pretty much the same everywhere. I like placing it higher so it’s less distracting from the scape.
I NEED your help man. I have dwarf hairgrass in my tank which has a diy co2 setup (inspired by yours😉). Drop checker which is correctly placed says there is enough co2 in the water. They are planted in an aqua soil which gives nutrients from the roots. I may add root sticks soon. But the only thing is my light? Is it possible that the light isn't penetrating deep enough in the tank for it? I was planning on making a platform so I could raise the grass closer to the surface. Do you thinks this will work or do I just have to buy new lights? Also this is in a planted tank where I grow only plants to place in my main tank later. There are almost no algae in the tank so I guess it is balanced too
Thank you for this video. I learn so much. I just priced out a custom 3ft tank for my kitchen area so this video is timely. I am really interested in the Co2 reactor you are using. Never seen that before. As a sidebar, is it me or is Europe way more into aquarium hobby than the USA. You guy have access to so many good aquarium products and plants.
Awesome! The CO2 reactor is from a dutch online store www.co2reactor.nl/ And yeah Europe is definitely a bit further in terms of the freshwater side of things 😬
amazing job Mj. Love the scape and the detail on this tank. I want to start use RO water but dont know how to remineralize. Do you only need the APT sky booster and nothing else?
Hi MJ, I was looking at adding blyxa in my new tank but from research i found that you have to uproot the plant trim it from the bottom and replant, so it's put me off a little. What has your experience been like with trimming blyxa, your plants look very nice.
Yeah that’s correct, you can’t really trim the leaves. I haven’t done it in this tank yet, but I’ll probably do it soon because they are getting quite big now.
Again a really beautiful tank MJ! I recently set up my own aquascape trying to grow a carpet of dwarf hairgrass, but since a week or so most of it has started to melt. If someone could give me some advice it would really help... I am adding co2 and using the superfish scaper light at 80 percent for 8 hours (and using aquasoil ofcourse). Any advice is welcome! Thanks.
You could do a lot of water changes or just go with it for some time. It will become less with time. The substances leeching from the wood are actually really beneficial for your fish. People put all sorts of botanicals into their tank to achieve exactly this. If you really hate the look of it you could try activated charcoal but this might absorb your fertiliser and stuff too. If you want to avoid it from the start you could keep your eyes open for some really nice wood and water it a long time before actually using it.
Is that a canister filter that fits a heater? Also, does it have to be the heater that came with it or I can switch it to a titanium? Great looking tank!
I love this one so much! Also a random question, do you have any recommendations for a carpet plant that doesn't grow too fast and doesn't need to be trimmed too often? (once per 1 to a few months)

What RO system do you use?
The tank is absolutely stunning! The balance of colors and the meticulous attention to detail make it look like a piece of living art. 💌
Glad you like it!
There is only one change I would make and that is move the tank to my house. Beautiful scape as usual.
This is by far my favourite tank on you tube !!!! Absolutely stunning MJ !!!
Lots of love from your subscribers from Sydney Australia ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much 😀
I believe we are going to see more tanks in the living room….☺️. Thanks MJ for everything you do.
Beautiful looking tank. I think all the fish perfectly suit the aquarium.
This is just art in my opinion. Very good choice of fishes aswell. It works very well all together.
As a big fan of island style aquascapes, this is your finest work yet. Absolutely stunning.
I love how you show how these set ups progress over time. Thank you for this style of video. Very inspirational. This one is stunning!
the amount of filtratiom and fast growing plants should easily take care of this high bioload and i love how you choose a group of smaller fish with larger schools to make the tank look so alive while not overcrowding it!
The Blyxa looks so good in the layout. The fish are beautiful. Great job!
I need someone to love me the way Europeans love jean shorts haha. great video!!
🤣
I also had to add that your video work is next level. I love seeing the close up shots of the beautiful fish and plants
Absolutely love the statement of that Blyxa at the midground.
A fantastic tank as always, definitely among my favorites that you have made! Incredible. Looking forward to hearing updates about the butterfly cichlid fry.

Beautiful Scape ! ! !
Such a beautiful tank mark. Love it ypur a master of the island scape bro. Big love from Sydney Australia
Definitely it's waaay too much!
I would send this tank to my house, fully stocked with fish and plants. 😜😉
I really love these set ups. Gives me plenty of enthusiasm and ideas!
Nice to see you finally have a saltwater tank. I have my planted tanks and my reef tanks too.
Hi!
The balance of the tank is out of this world.

Thanks for sharing you work and help us to grow on this beautiful hobby.
I do love those wood shrimp, just not sure if it’s a good combo with the cichlids
The driftwood is really nice. I love island setups.
Ive already watched this video 3 times. Such a cool aquascape! I love your builds.
Beautiful tank. I adore those Ciclids❤
Very nice setup with just the right amount of fish, in my opinion. I just love the Cichlids. 👍
Love this setup, man! Excellent job and video as always!
Love this set up, looks great. I would definitely take the babies out, could always do a new new set up for them.
Really nice Nature Aquarium. Good content can be so easy. This video is also very nice. Thx for showing it to us!
Thank you so much for the video, I always enjoy your aquascapes, even though I never seem to find the money or the resources to recreate them.
classic nature aquarium island style. looks good!
I always learn a lot from you mark😃..greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽 🙏
Beautiful pieces of wood. I wish we had a shop in NYC that sells hardscape decor.
One of your best to date imo 👌
Instead of cotton pads i use recycled paper/brown tissue and helps blend into wood structures very well! tanks looks amazing as well man
stunning tank! looks absolutely amazing
Beautiful tank Mark
Very nice scape!, It's definitely one of my favorite so far:)
Amazing new setup! I loved the old setup to with that 2 pieces of corbo root..let me buy that 2 pieces corbo root so i can build a replica off that tank for my own👏🏻

I wouldn’t do anything different. It’s beautiful 🤩

That light is ace👌
Absolutely amazing WOW!!!

Sorry to hear that… maybe try again on a smaller scale?
Great video!! I enjoyed it so much!
Brilliant scape!
Amazing tank! Would love to see an update on the reef tank. I actually set up my own nano reef because of this channel and its currently cycling.😁👍
Awesome! I’ll see if I can do an update soon
Stunning tank!!
That right there is freking amazing😮
Please add list of plants in the description

How do you manage to keep the water so clear (of particulates floating around)?

Mooi aquarium!
Could you tint the cyanoacrylate glue so that you don't have to worry about the cotton showing?
I've seen furniture makers do that.
Yeah maybe!
New to aquascapping and i really love your channel, any chance you kan shred light on how many of each plant you used i this tank. Im planing to scape my first 240l
Which lily pipes are those? Love that the skimmer is on the outlet.

Do you have any info on the co2 reactor you used? Can you maybe (if you don’t already have) do a video,on a reactor vs a tank co2. Thank 😊
absoutely beautiful!! what adaptations would i need to make if i don't have RO, and our water is very hard?
Stunning ❤
Thank you! 😊
Could you share tips with keeping the woods above the water surface in nice condition? Mine always get mouldy😢. Thanks
It's rare that you don't add shrimps, MJ. Just wanted to point that out!
Unfortunately not possible with these cichlids!
How do you attach plants to a tank after it has been filled up?
Great tutorial
Amazing Tank. Do you make water changes also with RO water and adding minerals directly to the tank?
Butiful tank MJ
really a very nice aquarium!
good work again MJ.
a little question, why is the co2 dropchecker so high?
most people place it 10cm from the bottom.
very seriously curious about this
Thanks!
I don’t think it really matters that much where you place the dropchecker. If you have decent flow in the tank the CO2 concentration should be pretty much the same everywhere. I like placing it higher so it’s less distracting from the scape.
very cool tank
you could adjust your light to have a night light, so there is never complete darkness, that might help with the fry.
Hmm interesting idea! I might try that!
I NEED your help man. I have dwarf hairgrass in my tank which has a diy co2 setup (inspired by yours😉). Drop checker which is correctly placed says there is enough co2 in the water. Also this is in a planted tank where I grow only plants to place in my main tank later. There are almost no algae in the tank so I guess it is balanced too
So the hairgrass is not growing? Yeah I would just buy better lights, but you could try the platform idea

@@MJAquascaping Thank you. I will check out the online store.
PS I do love my Sera Aqua Test Kit! I dont use anything else.
Hi, they don’t ship Dena liquid plus to USA. which other fertilizer you recommend? Thank you
The APT ferts which you can find here bit.ly/3tIVFsv and you can use my code ''mjaqua'' for 15% discount
amazing job Mj. Love the scape and the detail on this tank.
I want to start use RO water but dont know how to remineralize.
Do you only need the APT sky booster and nothing else?
Just the sky booster and a TDS meter, I like to add minerals until I reach a TDS of 120 or so
@@MJAquascaping thank you for the reply
Hi MJ, I was looking at adding blyxa in my new tank but from research i found that you have to uproot the plant trim it from the bottom and replant, so it's put me off a little. What has your experience been like with trimming blyxa, your plants look very nice.

It happens sometimes… difficult to figure out what caused it.
I would replace it if the situation doesn’t improve
Love the tank I never could do something like that. Next time mabey keep fish elsewhere
Nice tank!
My 3-month-old tank still has BBA and not growing rotala. I have no idea what to change. CO2, fertilizers, KH/GH 4-7... Nothing helps :(
hye how do i maintain my water to stay clear and clean and doesn’t turn yellowish because of the wood i use ?
You could do a lot of water changes or just go with it for some time. It will become less with time. The substances leeching from the wood are actually really beneficial for your fish. People put all sorts of botanicals into their tank to achieve exactly this. If you really hate the look of it you could try activated charcoal but this might absorb your fertiliser and stuff too.
If you want to avoid it from the start you could keep your eyes open for some really nice wood and water it a long time before actually using it.
Is that a canister filter that fits a heater? Also, does it have to be the heater that came with it or I can switch it to a titanium? Great looking tank!
Yeah the heater is in the filter, but I don't think you can use heaters from other brands.
Make a aquascape for Neocardinas next
Where did you get your CO2 Reactor?
Co2reactor.nl
Awesome
well done mark! beautiful setup ❤ Did any damage f the babies survived?
Unfortunately not
I love this one so much! Also a random question, do you have any recommendations for a carpet plant that doesn't grow too fast and doesn't need to be trimmed too often? (once per 1 to a few months)
Hmm I would go for Dwarf hair grass, Lileaopsis or Marsilea!
Is it active soil or ph neutral
Active!
