River aquariums are the best, especially if they are placed in long aquariums like this one. You did an amazing job here. Greetings from sunny Croatia.
This looks sensational! Great choice with the Juniper wood. That made all the difference. Stocking: Hillstream loaches Celestial Peral Danios, Pseudomugil gertrudae and blue dream shrimp 🔥
Thank you for sharing the process of creating this wonderful tank, Jurijs! It's a pleasant surprise and honor to see LitiAquaria products featured here. We truly appreciate it! 😍 Can't wait to see how the moss covers the rocks in the coming time; it's going to be amazing! As for fish suggestions, I'm really into Rummynose tetras. Their slender, silverish bodies with red heads would make for a fantastic school of fish here. 🥰🥰
Nice Job!🎉🎉 Fish Recommendation: - Hill stream loach - rummy nose / cardinal tetra / amber tetra (mix or one specie) Shrimps: -Bloody mary cherry shrimps. -Amano shrimps
Wow those dimensions are a dream, epic horizontal room! This build reminds me of an experience I had a few years ago.. I knew this guy known as “GarlicNoji” he was friends with Kalichi. He was a cousin of Kalijigi, who studied at Django Kiyoji. He moved to a place called Crustiji, where he met Mrs Kanishki. There they had a kid name Gobi, who grew up to become a Blazing Pillpoji! It was a cool experience overall
Beautiful! Rainbow shiners (Notropsis chrosomus) would be a a great fish for this tank - they are beautiful fish and this tank mimics their natural environment.
WOW!!
Of course, Hillstream Loaches! Also, maybe an odd choice but I have some Leopard Danios which I always think look like tiny Trout and I think a big group would look cool with all that swim room!
Looks utterly amazing, can't wait to see the update, especially the moss, I've never seen that. Just setup a hillstream aquarium as well, totally in love with this biotope, mine is only 100cm tho :D
Gorgeous tank with perfect dimensions! The hardscape and planting was executed perfectly! Love it. My vote would be for a huge group of Ambastaia sidthimunki and an equally sized school of Pseudomugil luminatus. Maybe a pair or two of Hypseleotris compressa and some Atyopsis shrimp. Then later on, add some Caridina dennerli.
I think this is my favorite scape of yours if not top 2 Jurijs! Came out so good! Can’t wait to see it stocked! Depending on if your client wants no heater but maybe a big school of rainbow shiners might look great! Or white cloud mountain minnows! I also saw Vietnamese minnows that might look great! With hillstream loaches also could be cool!
Rainbow shiners and kubotai rasboras! Both highly active species that prefer open swimming space and stream-like environments, plus I think the bright greens and blue/purple would contrast nicely together. Obviously some sort of hillstream loach as well. Pick whichever one the owner likes the look of most, or mix and match!
Cobalt Blue Goby Stiphodon semoni - they would love this scape. They would be sparring over the best rocks to sit on like little sapphire dogs. Great little fish full of personality.
I like orange critters to contrast with green & look nice with the lighter sand too. Pumpkin shrimp, Venezuelan cories, CPDs & maybe a nice betta in a different color.
The substrate is sprayed wet and only the rocks with Fissidens will need a short misting 1-2 times a day. Everything else would be basically on auto pilot from the start
Ultimately one can use a PAR meter, since the water is rather shallow, we went for a slightly higher starting point. Later on the heigh can be adjusted according to plant growth
Quite the contrast going from a 20 cm cube to this, haha. 😅 Absolutely spectacular, both in size and setup. I was daydreaming about a big shallow in my living room at some point. But maybe not 3 metres. 😆 For fish... I've seen a scape with some magnificent "Rainbow Shiners". Edit: see above: Notropis chrosomus.
Hello, I find this tank interesting in its measurements. As a retired professional aquarist, I will opt for a population of colorful fish from the KILLIES family: Aplocheilus, Aphyosemion, Fundulophanchax, Notobranchuis, Epiplatys, Hypsolebias ,Bropanchax, it has various choices of colors according to the tastes of the owner. Sincerely
I can spot them at my LFS pretty regularly. One of the few species that gets along with these bright iwagumi style layouts where shelter is rare. Bonus: Schools really tightly. One of my favourites!
300cm is exactly 118 inches. Same length I was planning for a tank on my living room to dinning room divider wall that has this large cut out, but is only 21cm wide. Would you say that's doable, say 40cm, 15 inches tall? Surprised it's all one solid piece length with no support. I just built a dirty substrate and sand fully planted tank and I fear my 3 goldfish 6 Inch long will just eat all the plants, disturbed the ground, rip the plants out. So was thinking to see if I can return them to the store for a new home. But you said river bed, goldfish being trout family, you think this design would work for them? Will they ruin the ground and setting? What maintenance is expected from your tank design? I come from gravel now, and this dirty tank design is maintenence free, unless the goldfish go in and destroy all. Where does the poop go on yours? Not into substrate and serve as food for the plants? So needs changing? Please advise. Being in living room a bit harder to change and maintain. Will the decor and black and sand stay or be disturbed by digging goldfish?
The concept and planting is brilliant. One tiny element bothers me: on the slopes some rocks reach the front glass. Aesthetically not a pleasant sight. I would push them slightly backwards. As for the livestock, I would look for species that typically live in similar environment. I. e.: hillstream loaches (Sewellia lineolata), Lambchop Rasboras (Trigonostigma espei) or White Cloud Mountain Minnows (Tanichthys albonubes) with a shoal of pygmy corydoras to eat-up all the excess food.
Hey Mary, I placed the rocks on purpose against the glass, this will help maintain the slope, also if cutting a slice from nature and observing the cross section one will see rocks too, so this makes the idea even more realistic imo
Which fish should we add to this aquarium?

A big school of sterbai corydoras! Tons of personality, and gorgeous when their full colors show

4-6 weeks, you should see 2-3mm new growth
