Absolutely beautiful, love your tanks, scaping style and videos, you inspired me to start my first aquascape, and this may well be the second one. Keep up the great work!
This why i love fresh water over salt water aquariums. Fresh water is zen saltwater is an acid trip and they all look the same. You've seen one saltwater tank you've seen them all
Love this concept! I hope to try a version of this one day! I always look at the ginseng bonsai trees when I’m at the garden center! Keep up the amazing scapes and content! 👍
Wish I could do that with my bonsai! I’m currently planning to re pot it and trying to figure out how to do half the planter as a pond and the other half just a small soil area for the bonsai. It’s a 10 year old jade tree, and you can’t overwater them or they decline and can die. Wish I could just put the roots in a basket and stick it in the center of a planter pond
I’m completely mesmerized by that orange light behind! It suits a black water tank so well :) Sorry if you have anlready explained this in another video, but is it a strip light, tube or how do you achieve this beautiful effect?
Amazing video and aquarium, about the bonsai, sorry I know alot people already asked about it, but the bonsai only gets nutrients from the water, any special mixture to add in the water?
I’m looking everywhere and I can’t find a singe ficus ginseng tree that looks like this. I see Ficus Golden Gates that look similar… is there a site or merchant that has similar trees? Thank you for creating!
The root does not rot. No stagnant water like overwatering. It is hydroponic, develops a large root system and grows beautifully. I've been keeping ficus in my aquariums this way for years.
@@TheCineScaper Is it possible to see a follow up on how it’s doing? I practice bonsai and this is the first time I’ve ever seen this. Genuinely looking to learn about this. Thank!
Overwatering is different. There is stagnant water in which the root is rotting. It's hydroponic, oxygenated, constantly changing water. I have kept ficus in aquariums for years.
@@oscarlindvall1053 Well i guess i could have excluded, the first part of my question, although its not clear how far the roots go in the water. Maybe im missing the point 😊
Maybe I didn't show you too much detail. The point is to get as much in the water as would be in the ground. The trunk should not be under water. Since there are a lot of questions I will make a detailed video on this.
To do this the whole roots have to be in the water then ? I definitely wanna try this. I have a 5g shallow tank and it’s pretty longer than usual would it work in there ?
@@MrGhostsword vid creator said down below it's some kind of ficus that he used for some years and it worked well in water tanks. Tbh I dont even know the difference betwen bonsai tree and ficus hah.
@@mateuszdziaach515 ok, looks like ficus benjamina to me, can grow into a huge tree.. so if it can be grown hydroponically awesome.. :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ficus_benjamina
@@TheCineScaper thanks.. then it may not last.. It says this for Ficus Ginseng: Watering your Ginseng Ficus To water a Ginseng ficus tree, the soil should be dry between each watering period. Water every 2 - 3 weeks in the Spring and Summer months, and then space out your watering in the Fall and Winter months. This plant can survive drought light conditions, as it does store and soak up water through its roots - so it is better to under water than overwater. Grab a 1/3 of a cup of water, and pour slowly at the base of the plant. Pour slowly to ensure you don’t overwater. Sometimes the soil may need less than 1/3 of a cup. The water shouldn’t “pooled” at the bottom of the glass and should soak up reasonably quickly. Signs of overwatering? The tree will develop root rot.
Great video! How do you keep the tannins from filtering out? I have a blackwater tank with a canister filter and no matter how many botanicals or how much extract I add, the water color clears right up.
Can you please do a casual walk through of your tank rooms. It looks amazing
YES PLEASE!

Very Zen for sure. Thanks for bringing us along. I love your
videos.
Gorgeous!! You are so brave, though; I would have been terrified of de-potting the bonsai!
Exactly!
I love in the morning when I open the blinds... and my tank fills with the sunshine. Looks so beautiful and the fish love it
Beautiful. This is another level for me. Not only craftsmanship and care of the aquarium. But also the financial level. One lamp alone is expensive.
Thanks! You don't need such an expensive lamp. This is overkill but I already had this lamp.
I love everything about this channel and what you do. Thank you for yet another inspiring scape.
Beautiful music and a beautiful scape! Great work.

This ficus can grows indoors ? I’m looking for a bonsai that can grow indoors.
Hi. I have a question if the Bonsai will regulate water consumption themself having unlimited water source by the roots?
My thoughts exactly!
Same ... I wonder if the bonsai can thrive here?!
A ficus is not a real bonsai. This hydroponic, it works perfectly. I have kept ficus ginseng in aquariums for years.
almost no other bonsai will live in there, but ficus is ok for hydroponics

Is the bonsai fully under water, i would imagine it being way to wet for a bonsai? I’m expert at killing mine by overwatering

Hello, where did you get your orange light behind the tank ?
Great video! How do you keep the tannins from filtering out? I have a blackwater tank with a canister filter and no matter how many botanicals or how much extract I add, the water color clears right up.
You can always add peat granules in the canister, and it'll keep the tannins in.
wow increible!!!, what ligth do u use on the back the aquarium??
Godox tl60
@@TheCineScaper ty is increible!!
I assume the water will always have the brown look from the tannin because the plant is alive?
Yes, its not problem for the plants. I use low demanded plants.
Great idea! Can this be kept indoors by a window for sunlight or does the bonsai need to be put outdoors to survive?
Question on nutrition for bonsai too?
What lighting are you using for the scape?
Does fertilizer need to be used to keep the bonsai alive? If so which one do you use? :)
