recently built me a 93x39x15 shallow tank. 1/4 of the area is wet above surface land divided with a wall of fossil stones, it is where i plant some strawberries. proud of it. i feed you, you feed me.

Beautiful 😍 set up love it can’t wait to do this.. Put a few goldfish in there duck weed gone in a day, I keep fantails in a heated planted tank with a few tropical fish a African frog & 4 sticklebacks no problems all healthy & no duck weed

I gave a dutiful pice of glass with a great curve on 2 sides its 1 inch thick im going to turn it in to a low boy tank witb the front being sloped just waiting on the side pices of glass to finish it off

I have shallow tank in storage and love to setup a pond tank with guppies and peace lily growing out of it but my cats will just think it something for them to play with cause it is easily accessible 🙃

The Blau tanks insisting on having weird dimensions (62cm?!) keeps them from consideration because I can’t reuse standard 60cm lights. It’s such a bizarre oversight.
I killed all the duckweed on my fish room. I used a combination of a fish which eats it. (A yellow mbuna cichlid hybrid named ducky) and high flow. Just point remove the sensitive fin fish, point the high flow pump at the surface and agitate all the duck weed out of the other plants. It will die. Duckweed hates water flow. And the fish which eats the duckweed will seek it out from all the crevices. Now every new plant gos into an isolation tank with extremely high co2 tank with filters mounted for bottom tank flow for the first week to kill all snails and planaria, and I can keep it manually clean of duckweed.

How do you stop the fish jumping out? I have a lid less 45l tank and wondering what type of fish to get because im worried about them jumping.
Don't fill it all the way to the top
Add some floating plants
Use a light that doesn't just turn off, but slowly ramps down in intensity
Add in a couple small goldfish for a few weeks and they will eat all the duckweed. Then you can bring them back to the LFS.

I did use CO2 in here, but it's absolutely not needed.
And I didn't use moss because I already had the HC cuba growing on the hardscape :)

The shelves are a bit thin, but the overall structure is very strong and stable

Keep the lights on during the day for about 8 to 10 hours.
those guppies are called Koi or Kohaku Guppies. I love those guys :)

Guppies make me so sad. I had 7 beautiful guppies in a 60p but they were fighting constantly and killed each other until only 1 was left.
