    I love all your high tech tanks, but these low tech no filter set ups are my favorite. I feel like they are much more of a conversation piece for folks with no experience. Good way to bring in new hobbyists.

      i feel like the only conversation pieces for none hobbyists are red and blue big fish. at which point they will say, these aren’t even gold fish. either way, they will enjoy tapping on the glass and walking away.

    FINALLY!!! lol. Now THAT'S a beautiful planted vase. Nobody is doing these. At least not well. Stunning and inspirational. I have wanted to do one of these for quite a while now. Great job Mark........MORE!!!!! lol

    That vase is quite incredible. You've done a fantastic job there. Try the yellow shrimp. The brighter and more banana yellow, the better: they show up against absolutely any surface/background (unless you have a pale beige coloured substrate). I love mine: they are easily visible from a couple of metres away: much more so than the blues and reds in my other tanks...

    a little trick i do after i apply the glue a second time is grind up a bit of aquarium soil i might have left over and use it to cover the whiteness of the cotton pad, works marvels

    Good idea would be to place that kind of vase on rotating base to admire underwater world from any side.

    Instead of baking soda, I use fine sand. Works great & looks good too. Also, I Plug my ‘holes’ with black felt. Love this project ❤️🇦🇺

    Very nice. It will take away your stress when you view it. I’m going to go to our local IKEA here in San Diego to look for a vase. If they don’t have anything, I can always jump across the border and to go to Mexico (15 miles from here) to find something. I have a perfect spot for a tank like this in the living room.     Stunning is the word..
    Trick in working with vase or bowl is the magnifying effect ..out of nowhere some plants, wood or stone stands out magnified..
    Small suggestion to use some sponge or hob filter because of maintenance difficulties

    Black Phantom Tetras would look amazing in this set up They’re quite a bit bigger than chili rasboras but they’re still small enough to live in this tank

    These vases are really cool. I really like this build.
    I currently have one a slightly smaller covering a root over rock ficus to keep the humidity up so it stimulates ariel roots.

    Great timing. I bought myself a vase similar to yours (29cm wide, 35 tall) a few weeks ago with the same idea in mind. Should be getting the rest of my hardscape and plants tomorrow. Can't wait to get started.

    This is one of my favorites. I did my own vase after your first video and have been doing both vases and bowls since. Really enjoy them. Wish I could get hold of the same hardscape as you, but we don’t really have that much to choose from from where I’m from unfortunately.

    I am lower than a newbie, I don't know anything, but Father Fish said that algae start to form if the dirt in the substrate is not covered by a couple of inches of sand so that it is anaerobic. Once the nutrients start flowing up into the water, it produces algae.

    Wow thats a huge vase. I was planning to do something similar I just need to find bigger vase than the 4LTR vase I currently have.
    PS I was supporting Netherlands last night and was really hoping we can meet you in semifinals. That would be amazing game...

    You can also put some electrical tape on light bulb area to block light if to bright or floating plants.

    I really love how the vase turned out, tough I think that the 25L are still not enough space to keep otocinclus inside that tank or fish at all especially if you bear in mind that they like to in a group of at least 4-6 fish. Still love your videos and your aquascapes but I just wanted to mention that point.

      I agree, especially with the dimensions. It really doesn’t have the horizontal swimming space fish need. If it was a 25L long tank then very small fish might be possible.

      Well my Betta swim perfect in round cilinder vase filled with hardscape,plants and wood compared to a square aquarium. Their overall behaviour is much more natural. 😮

    Very nice. But what about temperature? I read shrimps can live as low as 15 degrees. Not sure about the fish.

    I have a similar size vase and I did a waterfall paladarium with dragon stone various mosses and a palor palm. Need to find another one. Love your stuff.

    Maybe you should ask horizon what they're feeding their chili rasbora.
    I've had mine 2 months and they don't have anything like that kind of color.

    You mentioned that you may change the decorative sand later to gravel if it looks unsightly with the fish poop and debris...how would you do this safely planted tank with shrimp and small fish? I have been thinking about changing the substrate of my tank but I don't want to upset the system - I'd love to hear your thoughts on doing this!

    You made me moss having a vase. Love what you did with everything , looks so beautiful. What about some Taiwanese b shrimp some red with white would so pop in that tank. Feed those rasboras some live food and the color will start to get intense red . Worked for me
