Just found your channel last week... First new post I've been here for... I binged about a dozen of your videos, then I proceeded to go and spend $1300 on an aquarium setup... No regrets at all! So satisfying to watch it throughout the day! Thanks for helping me discover a hobby I didn't know I had!
I did similar last August, this channel convinced me I needed an Aquarium in my life and 'the tiny menagerie' channel helped me decide what fish I wanted, great fun. 👍❤️🇬🇧

WOW! Please make sure to come back and do an update on this tank in say a months time after the Easter Holidays. By then so much growth should have happened and all of the fish would have not only settled the dynamics will have been established.

This is the type of tank I have been having - big tank, small fish. I have a 3 footer with checkered barbs, ember tetras, harlequins, otos and black phantoms. It's fantastic seeing everybody has enough space to swim, play and yes hide if necessary.
A black background really makes freshwater fish colours pop!
Always wondered how a big aquarium would look with LOTS of nano fish. I guess I know now, and have to do a similar project somewhere in the future.

Setting very high standards, MD. Everytime I fixate on a scape and shop hardscapes accordingly, you come up with something astounding. Now I gotta do some more hardscape shopping!

I absolutely love this scape. So much movement and they shimmer so beautifully. I could sit there and watch it for hours. I can't wait to see it with that tall plant in the back grown in. I love that you guys make amazing scapes and they continue to even get more amazing with time.

i have an empty 5ft x 2ft tank in my living room that used to have a marine reef system in it. Its been empty for about 6 years now. This video (and a few of your other ones) has massively inspired me to get it up and running again as a planted tropical tank!! thanks for the inspiration!

Stunning. The real artists of aquascaping. Those pods - I soak them for a couple of days in a bucket of water to get them to sink. slower than boiling but it works

Yeah I love gold tetras. I have them in my "small" tank (120 liter) but now I am getting tempted of doing A LOT of them in my big tank (350 liter)

The background really makes a difference on a tank. The blue background ruins it but that was not your doing MD so still an awesome tank

If I'm adding big rocks I always put down plastic grate or light diffuser. I don't like creating pressure points on glass.

the amount of neons are astounding.
We started off with a 60l Biorb which the pump failed on. So we got a 4ft tank which I planted after watching a load of your videos. Now we have 3 tanks with male Betta's a community tank with some Rams in the 4ft. A smaller community with Cherry barbs and Apistogramma Macmasteri. A shrimp tank and today I got an Aqua one Betta trio tank with 2 Apistogramma Caucatoides to go in one of the sections. You are a great help MD but you're making me broke 🤣

This video has reinspired me, thank you boys! I've had a plan in my head to do a 40gallon breeder as a nano tank with 2 spot rasboras and hillstream loaches for ages but I keep putting it on the back burner. Gunna make it a priority now!

Awesome. What a dream to set up a tank in a fish store, and have full access to all different plants and decorations. And fish!! But I think the choice of fish didn’t do it, I would have chosen for such a big tank a variety of fish that swimming low middle and high, with all the tetras it just looks crazy cuz they are to small..

Beautiful tank. My choice for bottom feeders would have included Kuhli loaches and Mexican dwarf crayfish. Love your banter and the friendship you to have shines through in every video you do together.

for the CO2, just get a bag of citric acid and a bag of baking soda instead of that small box. mix with water (idk the measurements off the top of my head) and those bags will last you a lot longer than that box!
I think the blue background is a mistake. The green plants and blue Neons don't pop at all with that background.
MD, I think you and Matt should have a tankoff. Both get a spending allowance to shop the store and a time limit!
