Uh nope. I love Megadeth and continue to but he’s barely singing here. From Rust through Cryptic Writings his voice was awesome. Especially 94-97. Very strong.

Dave has rocked some awesome sneakers over the years and it is obvious he has a vested interest in the shoes he wears...even now that he is getting older his shoe game is still fire, I'm pretty sure he is wearing an Adidas Stan Smith in this video which is considered a quintessential staple for a sneakerhead...it's not like he is wearing Nike Monarchs. lol

I’m glad Dave brought James back. If David isn’t gonna be in the band for whatever the reason actually is I’m glad James is back, he’s a killer bassist.
Sounds great but Dave's mumble, grumble, spittle and snarl vocals only age like a fine wine.
Didn't think they could sound this great without Nick Menza, Dave E., and Marty but damn, they got some great talent flowing into this band. That being said, I feel super blessed to have seen them back in the day and about to see them again this month.

I love Megadeth but the inevitable lower tuning really takes the bite out of this song
I disagree...it's only his voice that isn't as dominant that loses a bit of its power...the instrumental is as potent as ever
@paulharrisonadventuregearm5457 The only reason the tone is lower is because Dave can't hit the notes like he did back in the 90s. It's hard knowing the groveling voice can take effect even at an early age, like with M. Shadows after Bat Country. Even if he was screaming, he wanted to replicate some singers like Axel Rose. I want to get there, but my voice can't go there on the high notes, but lower like Death Metal. Even if I try normally, it'll burn my throat and will make my throat sore. Dave's Jon Bon Jovi and Axel Rose at this point.

Being a metallica fan from the 80s we always disliked Dave and megadeth. Shame cause now I realize I missed a ton of great music from a talented musician. Seen them last September and Dave puts on a great show.
@John Galt you got me in age. I jumped on right when Cliff died. Cliff &Dave were yours (excellent and superior musicians) then what I got but that's how it was sold to me and my friends. Dave was bad bad bad. I'm in the snake pit this summer to see metallica but Dave? I would pay just as much for front row to see him play. 35y I disliked Dave. Huiuuuuuge mistake on my part.

@@JackssonClark All of thier stuff from Killing is my business..., to countdown to extinction were in standard A440 and also on live performances. On Youthanasia though they songs were in Eb and they also used that tuning for live performances on the supporting tour for Youthanasia.
On 1997's Cryptic writings they were back in standard A440 (same on live performances)and then in 2012 they tuned down a whole step on Super Colider album and also as a live tuning.
Since 2012 he has been singing a whole step lower...tuning down even lower than D will be too heavy...they will gonna sound like Korn. I wish they just tuned to Eb like in the Youthanasia area cause its just a half step. I think a whole step is way too heavy especially for such a classic metal band, they lost thier classic Megadeth sound wich is in E...simple and still heavy enough.
Put a 5th on the chords to make it heavier instead like C5/G or B5/F#.

Kiko Loureiro is one of my guitar gods, but man, Marty puts something in his bends that is very difficult to be replicated. Anyway, the music that Kiko made with Megadeth it’s amazing!

The amount of people saying he still sounds amazing...come oooon....Dave has gotten old, and hasnt taken good care of himself. I am very happy to see him still playing, but this is on its very last leg....the sound guy also deserves his ass kicked here tho....could hardly hear the vocals. But I guess thats how it goes. We should all count us lucky every concert they hold, to hear them live...or at least say we got to see them live..cause this aint lasting much longer. Saying anything else is delusional
I agree. I was very fortunate to see him live last year. But he just doesn't sound good. Of course his battle with cancer certainly took a toll on him. Dave is a legend and we're glad to still have him but he certainly sounds rough.
I mean Dave was never had the best vocals in the first place, he always had a bit of goofyness to it especially on CTD, but yeah like most metal vocalists they do degrade alot when they're older, people don't realise how much harsh vocals screw your voice up, very few can maintain that shit throughout the years.
But the important thing about Megadeth are the riffs anyway, and he can still play.

They're turned down a step, and he can still barely do it. It's not just his vocals. His lead playing has seriously degraded. His playing on Holy Wars from the same set was awful.

It looks like Mustardstain was not happy to perform this day and the rest of the band acted like paid robots. Something was way off here and OMG the gibson shilling, just like spaceballs.They were also playing this an octave and rushing the timing.
