      Warhammer 3 auto-resolve punishes you for being too lazy to fight

      @@indrickboreale7381 especially siege battles with ogres, I think he just auto resolve took altdorf it probably said medium casualties and he took it. But who knows, maybe he already fought a few armies. But the state of both armies tell me auto resolve was used

      @@GLUFSAREN Yeah, it's pretty unrealistic to get the same amount of damage on every unit with manual battling. He probably waited a turn for the second army to get there in my opinion as well.

    As Skrag you can actually take/complete your first province, but leave the last/neighboring province that the Dwarves control. Make peace with the Dwarves, go and wipe out the 2 Skaven settlements within the mountain range, then gift those two settlements to the Dwarves. This should make the Dwarves happy enough (maybe with a few gifts of money as well) to actually make the Dwarves look at you positively regardless of the fact you basically kicked them out of 2 settlements. In the meantime, don't actually wage war on the Empire. Make trade agreements/non-agression pacts and etc.
    You will basically make the Empire/Dwarves your allies, and if you make nice with Marienburg and help them with (I think Nordland?) you will quickly form a bit of a shield/order-tide around yourself. Then with agreements that allow travel through their territories, you can actually take Skrag up north and sail into Norsca to wage unending war against Chaos/Norsca/Daemons without ever needing to worry about your home territories (which you can basically just garrison a spare general or two at, and use a camp within your own territory to just level-up/upgrade at zero risk). This will allow you to basically play a makeshift "Dogs of War" campaign where you can take contracts to fight against Chaos factions and hire allied Empire/Dwarf units to supplement your weakpoints (usually I do Dwarf Quarrellers for tanky/ranged units, or Empire Knights if I want that hammer/anvil with expendable yet powerful cav).
    Also if you play your cards right and just spend a fortune bribing them, you can even get the Wood Elves allied with you.

      Heh. I did a similar move in my Ice Court campaign. Went down to take over Sylvannia and Marienburg/the Wasteland to turn them into cashcow provinces. Stomping on Mannnfred and Skrag made me enough friends to turn the Empire and the World's Edge Mountains Dwarfs into an ordertide alliance that then went and started pushing into the Dark Lands and Norsca while I could concentrate on defending the north and having just a few roaming agents closing rifts in the Empire.

      @@magni5648 And I made similar with Cathay (I don't know if it's how is supposed to play tho) Allied with every Ogre faction and saved them from getting destroyed, except for Goldtooth and Skrag then got like 12 alliances + 18 trade agreements to start 200+ turns invasion on Chaos Wastelands. But to be honest, replenishing Cathayan high tier units, especially in Chaos lands is real pain. It takes 4 turns to recruit and infinite amount of time to actually recover.

      @@Hadesniisama Recruitment times can be lowered by some buildings and tech IIRC. Replenishment-wise, there's only some items and getting local outposts with the +replenishment building up. Though Cathay can get stupid amounts of global recruitment slots if you spam the alchemist chain.
      I actually kept using Peasant Longspears and Archers throughout my Cathay campaign for anything other than my LLs doomstack. You can crank them out at level 9 in a fully developed province, they have a bunch of good tech upgrades and they can get a tech that gives them a huge replenishment boost. So you can have them carry the worst of the fighting and take the casualties while your more elite units act as reserves and/or flankers. Plus they're cheap as dirt, so you can save on upkeep and have more stacks out.

    Pretty wild scenario! It seems plenty of SYDB come in with either armies with attrition or caught in force march, but this had some extra Saving Private Ryan feels to it XD *edit* those scrap launchers OP!!!

      The scrap launcher OP part is sarcasm right? right? They take about 2 big names to become passable as an artillery, keep in mind this is one of the most broken traits/buffs CA has decided to release and it merely makes them average, their main benefit right now is toggling melee and running down foot characters, they're actually better than most of the roster at doing that because of pathfinding issues.

    looking at how the units where damaged, i bealive that that army has auto-resolve most battles so far, since melee units tend to be more damaged than range, and this units where damaged in a very similar order, as in only 2 ironguts on each regiment

      I hate that autoresolve punishes you even more now, as if it wasn't bad enough in WH1&WH2.

    Skrag has a lot of auto resolve defeats that when played end up decisive victories. It happens against Spearman/crossbows and also the lizard armies that are anti large in Khornes realm

      Autoresolve in the game is booked for every faction. I get CA want to avoid players autoresolving whole campaigns but it's ridiculous how often it says you have no hope and get a decisive victory.

      @@keto3883 Its especially bad for Skrag cuz the empire factions will spam spearmen, and the anti-large bonus seems to get a massive multiplication in autoresolve.

    Honestly, I find it best to do the realm of Tzeentch first. You're going to fight the most battles in there and if you do it first, you won't be fighting full stacks of high tier tzeentch armies. Like tier 1-2 units of any faction can easily sweep 1/3rd to half stacks of blue and pink horrors. I do them in order of hardest to easiest so Tzeentch > Khorne > Nurgle > Slaanesh. The AI also almost always goes for Tzeentch first if it can. You can set them back if you get it first. I find it best to do Slaanesh last because you can immediately just go fight Be'lakor afterwards since the taint of Slaanesh is a non-factor in the final battle anyways. I recently finished my Kairos campaign on legendary and only N'kari had 3 souls by the time I was done.

      Slaanesh first for the rewards, they can really help set up the campaign especially if you get the Sword of Slaanesh.

    @LegendofTotalWar - What do you think about them putting a 3 turn for Towns and 5 turns for Cities before the Garrison Units start taking attrition and can be increased by 1 turn for each level of the Garrison increase Building just so the AI doesn't sit there to starve you out it also makes no sense that a Town or City wouldn't have food reserves to stave off attrition.

      They removed all that because people got upset about waiting for 12 turns to starve out the AI, and CA saw it as *the* only way to give the AI some "skill" for difficulty...

    Bone crusher can pretty much delete low armor units. Seen it pretty much one shotting a blob filled with skaven units with a single cast

      with something higher than level 17 written on the card on the bottom left corner. look outside the box.

      In the around the level number it shows a colour circle with the ratio of colours based on which skill tree they have, and he had very little blue, and blue is the skill tree with lightning strike

    Leadbelchers don't really mesh well with Ogres. Either get your Leadbelcher gunline with Gnoblars or just go full melee deathball with the Ogres.

      I agree. I felt that the leadbelchers often got obstructed when I had ogre infantry. Decided to ditch em and roll with Stonehorns instead. But I can see a Leadbelchers, gnoblars, and scrap launchers with gorger flankers army be a good comp.

      I feel the key with Leadbelchers is that you want to keep your army back and only charge once the enemy has marched through the cannonfire, then use their high mobility to reposition them and get better shots instead of trying to fire into the melee from behind your units.

      @@Chummy8 It is. And it's super cheap too. Hunters and Tyrants also get a Big Name that makes Gnoblars Unbreakable, which makes it work particularly well. It's not the most impressive army you can build but it gets the job done.

    I'd much rather see the full campaigns again. I dislike that people f up their campaign for 20 turns... and then send it in with basically dead units.... just roll back ur f'n save guys... or start over.

      As skraag you take him out first or after you deal with dwarfs and skaven to the north.
      When I played Karl suicided on my garrison 3 or 4 times so I did not need to take him out until I made a lap around the mountains and taken out everyone to the north. He just kept reviving getting a new army and first turn attacking my garrison. I assume that's what he does in every campaign, I had to save him from chaos rebels when I played Kislev

    Whoever thinks 1st turn siege attrition is a good idea should never work on any other TW games again, like walls are just massive detriment and you can't ever get a good defensive battle since your army is almost dead by the time AI attacks

      It's not for you it's for the AI vs AI. How many times have you seen the AI siege for 6-8 turns, fight(auto resolve), raze a settlement, occupy next turn, merge gold chevron units and begin globally recruiting for 4+ turns? Oh all the time? The overall campaign flow is garbage the moment you start to pay attention to it and not spam end turn with the camera on 2x. The AI can't gather any momentum to pose a threat to other AI or you without massive cheats because of garbage like this that freezes them in place for 15+ turns. CA needs to remove razing as an option for the AI outside of hordes and we'd be in a much better spot as well.

      @@toggle3927 Everything you bring up is AI issues they should reolve and 1st turn attrition on sieges is very bad too, because the AI starve you out way more now
      Forced me to use ursun as kislev for the whole game the other 3 were pointless, because I needed the attrition for enemies since I took less attrition than them while Katrina was doing realms. Playing skraag ofc your garrisons are way too good and the autoresolve thinks you are gonna lose every time, so sallying out is often a good idea, especially early.
      But the Battle AI and Pathfinding AI is the worst it's even been. We don't even need to talk about Campaign AI that's always been atrocious and it's not getting better.
      Player focus is extreme in this game too. I think the only faction that's almost never player focused is Dark elves. Unless you play Highelves or the new wood elf faction, they even left me mostly be when I was playing Mundi. The guy who made their campaign AI did a good job if you don't count the arks.
      But I guess when the whole map releases it's gonna be player focus for them too.

      @@GLUFSAREN If you sit there with no input and let the AI siege for 4-6 turns shouldn't that settlement have an actual chance of being lost? The only changes I would like are dwarfs in a Karak being immune to attrition and maybe the option to immediately start a defensive siege in addition to sallying out. But complete passive play with no input from the player should be punished because of the AI behavior problems I mentioned and in general.

    Sometimes I cant believe people cab play that badly, to be in situation like this! I have never had campaigns like that in TWW games, on legendary difficulties, it is just embarassing. Last time I had bad campaign was in Thronnes of brittania when I started the game.

    I dont like the souls race at all. I much prefer just conquer the map play. Really just waiting for Immortal Empires. IMO, thats the TRUE release of 3.
    Man you really surprise me sometimes. I see a mess you have and think "Yeah, that ones screwed". You really earn your channels name.

      I think it is cool, to manage your forces better. You always warned before next rifts, so you have some turns before they open up to manage your LL. I played as Cathay and it was VH but felt easy, now im playing as Kislev, and it is very fun, but hard to pull Katarina off to go for soul. I defeated skraag and all empire, demon prince is done too, and whole coast is mine, so after soul race I would go for chaos wastes with belakor. Also map painting is boring after you reach power lvl 1, because it is just no challenge. TWW2 for me is quick victory at max, because painting whole map is boring, bc you know you are the strongest, while soul race would go around 100-1200 turns and you experience well made campaign. My problem is that you dont feel any different playing different races because advisor always treat you the same

      @@MrShkoloPlay You killed the empire? They are better as allies and trade partners. Actually trade in this campaign is really bad though so maybe they are not worth keeping around now that I think about it and their armies are almost always tier1 spam

      @@GLUFSAREN during my several VH/LEG campaigns all TWW 1-2 races(dwarves, empire, vampire, skaven, etc.) except norscans are passive. Dwarves sit in their mountains until rift armies kill them, empire just sitting with tier 1 armies, while their settlements have iron, gold and other resources. I dont like passive allies, for example greasus or zhao are great allies, they always perform well, while storm dragon is rekt by kairos. So you can make trade partners for a while, but not permanent, they would die by rifts or ogres, they useless as building for +20 relation with empire.

      I just soft-deactivated it myself, by modding the AI difficulty for the souls battles so high that AI factions just cannot win them ever.

      Parthian lvl 2 horse archers spam rome 2 whole campaign
      Lvl 1 with no armor die from one shot
      Lvl 3 too heavly armored and too slow
      Lvl 2 with speed and armor
      20 units vs 40 with general on lvl like 17 with +25% ammo bonus moral etc
      But bot is stupid and attila is better for such armies
