    I find Gnoblars are great at absorbing a charge and holding a line for ogres to charge over and over, even better is to just have your ogres charge through the gnoblars so they act as little orbiting meatshields. I have so much fun using gnoblars I kinda wish their roster was a bit more fleshed out!

    I found these fights were the hardest I had in my Ogre campaign. I think you are most of the time at a disadvantage, they are not greatly defensively. And if the enemy has archer units who can fire from above the walls, it's a real pain and very hard to manage.

    I had issues with the unit path finding at first, but holding shift and right click dragging a waypoint is my savior. You don't even have to drag an exact path sometimes just dragging down the initial route then doing a straight line to the end point does the trick @LegendofTotalWar . Also found that gnoblars are awesome against the light war sleds if you can soak their charge with another unit of gnoblars.

  • @duperuza3247
    @duperuza3247 2 года назад

    Didn't consider that different towers might be more cost effective, I'd figured that they would've balanced the supply requirements against the towers overall effectiveness. Wouldn't mind a breakdown of the different factions' towers and/or when to pick them (e.g use magic towers vs demons to bypass the physical resistance).
    My current strat for difficult defences (particularly when the defending army is small) has been to hole up in the town square with the entire army, ignore the smaller supply points, and invest in one or two of the expensive towers, relying on them to do most of the work. If you can get the AI into a few tight corridors the splash damage can swing the tide pretty effectively.
    Help all of us to embrace the cheese, would appreciate your thoughts in a future video! @Legend

    I wish we had some kind of t3 Gnoblar variety that was even a bit better at holding the line. The kinds we have atm are great for the early game for absorbing charges but they just can't do anything vs higher tier infantry. Even a Bloodletter charge will make them completely crumble a few seconds after impact which doesn't leave you much time to whittle them down with ranged. Unless ofc, you have them Unbreakable Gnoblars. ;)

  • @Auraknight
    @Auraknight 2 года назад +4

    I think in situations like this, where you're relying on towers so heavily, and are microing troops enough that you're missing the exact tower build moments, it is FAR better to build the T1 towers ASAP.
    Building a new tower takes 90 seconds. Upgrading an existing tower takes 30. you effectively spend about 100 supply points to get the tower tier you WANT up 60 seconds faster. if you make more then 100 supply points a second, it's going to be a faster way of getting the towers up.
    *100 supply points for going from T1 to T2.
    ** this is all the more worth it the higher tier of tower you're jumping to, since you're getting your expensive investment up 60 seconds sooner after you pay for it, even if it costs a little more.
    *** it is generally NOT worth it to jump from T2 or T3 to T4- you're losing operational time of an expensive tower while it upgrades, and losing more supply overall.

      Depends
      In Shogun 2 I thought it was a bit too quick for immersion how fast units responded
      In Medieval 2 it's basically the opposite, troops react slowly and often "forget" orders (as when they're in melee, just like in WH3), and it works very well, gives the game a slower pace that works differently
      Though it's been modified between WH2 and WH3 in a way that's kinda weird as it seems to he reverting to a slower reaction time, which isn't really adapted to the game or the habits we acquired over the years
