Today, the 14th of June, marks the 25th anniversary of Rory’s untimely passing. To celebrate Rory’s life and music, we’ll be streaming a three-hour tribute festival on the video below. Hosted by David Kid Jensen and in association with Rorys family and Web Gig Live, the concert features Davy Knowles, Laurence Jones, Dom Martin, Eamonn McCormack, Marcel Scherpenzeel, Mark S Black and Peter Donegan.
Starting at 5pm UK Time (12pm EST) and running through to 8pm when you can then switch over to the streaming of Taste’s performance at the 1970 “Isle Of Wight” festival.

I can only assume that the few "thumbs down" votes were by people who stumbled across this by mistake!! An excellent set and really well topped off with the amazing Dom Martin going electric with his band. Great stuff! What a shame that Rory isn't with us now - a Rory gig was always a musical high for me and I was lucky enough to see him more than 30 times........ he never disappointed. RIP Rory, my favourite musician EVER.

@@lihilihi5111 I know, I was just lucky to pick up on him very early in his career. The first Rory "after Taste" solo gig I saw there were only about 50 of us in a large theatre..... Rory got us all to sit at the front and still did a 2 hour show..... just amazing!

My brothers Cesar & Hector as me, are a big fans of Rory's music, my brother Hector is a musician (cello player) and since 2000 he has transcript in scores into plain paper, black and white, note by note, maybe 100+ of Rory's songs, but hadn't have the chance to contact Rory's trustees to publish them in book, maybe someday it will come to reality, in the meanwhile we can play it in my daddy's home down in Toluca, Mexico,... peace & kudos to you out in cyberspace from Guadalajara, México, julio-4-2020 ✌🏻😎

The Dobro ended up canalized for parts. Welding it did not work out well. It was badly cracked and could not be tuned.
Thanks for this fine tribute! Very blessed to have seen Rory many, many times in the States. Was also at his last show in NYC in 1991. I hope these tributes can continue for many years! Thanks a million!
BkCharlie I saw Rory at Max’s Kansas City in the early 70’s. I’m from Philadelphia & it was my first trip NYC. My boyfriend saw Rory in Taste as he was the opener for Blind Faith. At that time I was a big Alvin Lee fan & boyfriend said ‘just wait till you see this guy’. Rory blew the doors off, one of my all time best gigs ever. Saw him open for either Deep Purple or Black Oak Arkansas (it was the 70’s way too many substances cloud the memory). That was a good show, but the set of course was much shorter.
Robin Howells great stuff! Alvin Lee. Another tremendous loss. I didnt see Rory until 74 for the first time but nearly 20x after that.
Great show! I was fortunate to see Rory playing live twice, brilliant concerts.

My dad passed away this day last year he bought my ticket for my first gig 1976 calling card tour he used to let me stay up late to watch old grey whistle test which is where I first saw my favorite artist off all time is now 60 R I P my dad and rory

I didn't know what to expect, but then when I heard people playing Rory's songs, I knew I'd found Nirvana. I will not make the comment that Rory would have played it better. Rory would have told me to keep my Gob shut and listen, so I'm listening and appreciating. What a great tribute. Thanks to all.

I fell in love with all of the performers during this video! They were all incredible! I searched most of them individually to check out their original songs, even though they were not bad, I just wasn't feeling most of it. Rory Gallagher had something special, it's obvious the reason I fell in Love with these performers, they were playing Rory Gallagher songs.

I use to drive a tow truck in north San Diego ca and met a woman in Carlsbad and I was playing Rory on my cassette deck and she told me philby was about her that was late 80s and to this day I think about that...anyway...Please we need more Rory stuff from his brother ! Thanks for everything so far! I love u Rory thank you! Rory On!!
