Never seen him live dont no how I missed out i am 62 great player and musician one of the best ever shear raw blues for ever be remembered rip Rory keep rocking
I am just repeating what many more wiser people have stated about the great Rory Gallagher, The man was nothing less than totally brilliant, When he came to town he stopped war and conflict, people stood together as one at Rory gigs, that is a recorded fact. He was Gods very special rocking angle, Thanks a Million Rory.
I saw the taste on their first debut in England at a festival in 1967/68it was either Windsor or Woburn can't remember to be honest as I was 19 but he blew me away and managed to see him when he played In North London. Still play his music today. A true legend.
Nice one Rory. He was Sooo loved. Stayed true to his beliefs, and never forgot his roots. Played in his beloved Ireland when no other band would during the troubles. Gone too soon but never forgotten. Thanks for this. 👍✌❤
Been a fan ever since early 73 when I saw his album cover for Live in Europe. Had to buy the record. I had never heard of him or his music. Messin’ With The Kid grabbed me by the ears and I was forever hooked.
From the first time I heard Rory's Music in 1975 I was spellbound and to this day He is by far My Favorite Guitarist/Musician. This Documentary is Great, Thanks Heaps for uploading it. R.I.P. Rory
Despite the fact I'm part Irish and that part is where I get my musical heritage and talent from, only now in my 5th decade have I discovered this gentleman! How is this possible?!? I did see him on TV once, I loved that the audience all sat on the floor and listened to him weave stories! :o)
Met him a number of times in USA and London! Lovely guy for real! WTF happened! so bloody sad! Last time was at the Roxy and Slash played with him! He had the Byrds greatest hits in his CD player when he died! Byrds were my favorite band!
Thank you for this! Sadly there isn't the information about Rory in the US, so this is so wonderful. I bought the LP Against The Grain because I was a Strat guy, rare in the late 70s, and I though anyone who played the paint off their guitar need to be listened to.
Rory would go up north and play, the word was, "you leave Rory Gallagher the hell alone". Rory Gallagher, Irish man, Irish Blues man. God bless your soul Rory Gallagher.
Never heard a bad word said about the man, and no one but no one better live. Rory onstage was like lightning in a bottle, offstage the most humble and modest man. That's Rory, a Legend ☘
Heard the story that someone once asked Jimi Hendrix how it felt to be the best guitarist, and Jimi said "I don't know, why don't you ask Rory Gallagher"
Me either...and being a Rory freak believe me l have tried to source the quote. Knowing Jimi's self-deprecating opinion of his ability l would give it a 50/50 chance that he said it...but if he did we will never know who he said it to. If he *did* say it, my bet it would have been at the 1970 Isle Of Wight, perhaps disappointed in his performance. Regardless, it does not diminish the staggering genius of either man.
They are unable to truly appreciate rory's talent, they probably worship at the temple of Clapton, page, beck, hendrix yawn!!! I'm not kidding when I say that Glen Campbell was a better than most of them, like I said, I'm not joking, Campbell was amazing!!!
Thou shalt not make fun of people suffering from corticosteroid moon face. It's a medical condition, like the mumps. You can be a goddamn virtuoso with any face shape, duh, and it's even more impressive that he was giving electrifying performances even when he was sick.
Rory was more raw soulful gary was fast edgey and known as more mainstream his speed second to none both up there with the cream of the cream. Sadly missed
What was the greatest battle ever on the Western range, what was the greatest battle ever on the Western range, when me an a bunch of cowboys rode into Jesse James, come a cow-cow yicky, come a cow-cow yicky, yicky yay
"Raw" ,says Clayton "raunchy"! Rory's Music & Words were a lot more sophisticated & complex, skilful than the U2 jangle - what the hell is U2 singing about anyway ? - incoherent, more heat than light.
Why do you have to compare and be negative? I’m not a U2 fan but still I mean it.s U2 , they made it, you didn’t. Is this what the human race is all about ? Jealousy?hatred?
Every time I see one of those relic guitars I feel that it's an insult to musicians like Rory and then after that I think "WANKER". Rory put years of hard playing into that old Strat how dare they think that they can pretend that their relic has mojo .
Unfortunately if you're American you have to find Rory by pure luck. I found "wild one" by thin Lizzy, which led me to Gary Moore, then Rory , but if I didn't get into Lizzy I never would've found Rory Gallagher. I think Rory and Gary are my favorite blues players
Or Alan, be 63 yrs old.and saw him numerous times at sold out clubs! Check out Davy Knowles, grew up in the Isle Of Wight, he gets it. Has Gerry Maccovoy (sorry for misspelling) Rory's bassist on tour with him.
Aidan Convery Is that Irish? And if so, what does it mean? I’ll go out on a limb here - “aching and drinking heavily” - is my guess. Please correct this, Aidan Convery. Personally, I’ve been aching and drinking heavily since the day he died, but that’s more coincidental than caused specifically by his death. He was gone before he achieved the recognition he so deserved, and the world is now less beautiful.
From Lizzy to Gary to Rory . No way would I like the blues and Rory if not for my love of Thin Lizzy , and I never liked Lizzy as a kid because I'm American and we ONLY hear the boys are back in town and Jailbreak and as a metalhead those songs are kinda boring, though I love them now
Wasn't about Def Leppard, it was about Vivienne Campbell, boys like him grew up in Belfast starved of live music, meanwhile Rory just sauntered in every year and did his stuff with no fanfate or drama
Never seen him live dont no how I missed out i am 62 great player and musician one of the best ever shear raw blues for ever be remembered rip Rory keep rocking
That first album he released after Taste disbanded will always hold a special place in my Ulster heart. "I Fall Apart" is simply beautiful.
Go buy the New Box set released October 2021 what a Killer Job They Did Just Amazing Phenomenal!
I've it ordered!

one of the absolute greatest guitar players of all time!
From the first time I heard Rory's Music in 1975 I was spellbound and to this day He is by far My Favorite Guitarist/Musician. This Documentary is Great, Thanks Heaps for uploading it.
R.I.P. Rory
A master musician. Humble, incredibly talented and beautiful to behold. He played guitar with a genuine ferocity that couldn't be matched.
Despite the fact I'm part Irish and that part is where I get my musical heritage and talent from, only now in my 5th decade have I discovered this gentleman! How is this possible?!?
I did see him on TV once, I loved that the audience all sat on the floor and listened to him weave stories! :o)
Better late than never!!
Better late than never bro😎
RIP, Rory - a brilliant guitarist and all-round good bloke.
Early 70s through the 80s I never missed Rory in the L.A. area and he always was the best.
Met him a number of times in USA and London! Lovely guy for real! WTF happened! so bloody sad! Last time was at the Roxy and Slash played with him! He had the Byrds greatest hits in his CD player when he died! Byrds were my favorite band!
Whas going on here ?? No comment ?? . OK.....this is great stuff - thank´s a lot lerke. There is no one like Rory and will never be. RORY FOREVER !
so shy but so full of energy on stage...with his nice voice
Two words that don't belong together describe Rory. Underrated legend.
Rory was simply the best,i feel sad for those who are unfamiliar with him.
Me too, his talent was unsurpassed. RIP Rory. Gone but never forgotten. 💖
Well said

gawd..with Neil dead now all of my rockers are dying..and there is absolutely nobody today that can fill the gap left by these true Music souls..
Thank you for this! Sadly there isn't the information about Rory in the US, so this is so wonderful. I bought the LP Against The Grain because I was a Strat guy, rare in the late 70s, and I though anyone who played the paint off their guitar need to be listened to.
THE VERY BEST!
Easily the best live performer I ever experienced
Dove into Irish Tour 74 in 1975,never came out.
Rory would go up north and play, the word was, "you leave Rory Gallagher the hell alone". Rory Gallagher, Irish man, Irish Blues man. God bless your soul Rory Gallagher.

`and i can be found if you look around`.... God bless Rory, and God bless Gary Moore `Rory and me without a spare string between us`
The best!
what a beautiful man
that's my impression, absolutely no nonsense
i would normally say no b.s ....respect to the great man......RIP.
R.I.P. Rory * RORY FOREVER
My one goal in life is to make sure Rory makes it into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame
This is unfortunately an urban legend. It has never been documented where Jimi supposedly said it, or who he said it to.
Me either...and being a Rory freak believe me l have tried to source the quote. Why would anyone give this a dislike?
Cause theirs a rat hanging out of Adam Claytons chin?🎸😁
They are unable to truly appreciate rory's talent, they probably worship at the temple of Clapton, page, beck, hendrix yawn!!! I'm not kidding when I say that Glen Campbell was a better than most of them, like I said, I'm not joking, Campbell was amazing!!!

Very useful, thought for thought

kate davenporty
here I am.
We're always happy to help out, no matter how small a way we can ;)
I'll take one as well, as long as he can play the blues like Rory!
I am from Portugal but I have a Irish soul😁
'Skid Row' he refers to is the Gary Moore version, the original.
Phil Lynott as well.....Brush Shiel's band
❤️

Thin Lizzy was the best band ever.
Alan Lloyd We lost two of Ireland’s greatest treasures way, way too soon : Phil Lynette and Rory Gallagher.
