- Here's a short review of an inexpensive, entry-level SCART / RCA switch from Otaku-Games. It's great for the price, but please remember it's NOT a converter! This is just a passthrough device!

This kind of shorter review is absolutely very worthwhile. Just having someone who knows what they're talking about do a quick sanity check on a product is often all that's really needed.
I'll probably pick up one of these for myself, since its simplicity and flexibility would probably come in handy in various situations.
I absolutely love this format. It really helps to have these type of references available for products to get a verdict on before potentially buying something.
Nice, there's not a lot of videos on this switch so glad so see someone review it :) I ordered mine a week ago and waiting for mine, glad to see a review on it.
I would love to see an update on this with the oscilloscope etc.
Cheers for the great content
I really like this format. I feel like there are a lot of products don't really require the same amount of time that you usually dedicate to the in-depth reviews. The Otaku switch is a perfect example of one of those products. Thank you and keep up the good work Bob!
10:19 is the exact scenario I was wondering about - thanks for the video!
Regarding the voltage regulator it is indeed useful for scart tvs like you said. As pin 8 should have on the output 9 to 12v for automatic switching to the scart input with the display in a 4:3 ratio mode (5v on that pin usually triggers the change to a 16:9) this is usually not needed is just for convenience. On pin 16 it needs 1 to 3 volts to force the TV to RGB mode (so there should be a resistor after the voltage regulator if it is a 7805 for attenuation like is required for most scart cables).
From what you showed it looks like that with a power supply you could use RCA cables to feed the switch and output the video with a scart cable and have the pin 16 with the proper voltage.
yeah it's for european user with a true rgb scart connector on her tv not for pvm or ntsc tv hacked.
These shorter reviews are really valuable, and I really appreciate them! Thanks for the great info!
this is really exciting! I'm definitely interested in this, as it is much easier on the wallet.
These type of review videos are worthwhile. Would also like to see more RGB modding tutorials on such things as the Sega RGB bypass boards recently released...
OK I confirm Otaku's alive, as I said earlier they manifested recently (only thru PP tho) and yesterday I received my order, which they had already shipped out but did not notify, their website email & social communication seem broken. They must be under the weather bc of all the bad stuff going on this year, and HK a special case with extra trouble besides the Rona,, but at least they still breathing, and yes their switch rocks, for the price it is a much, MUCH better purchase than any of the insane 200+ bucks indie switches, I'd rather buy 2x Otaku switches if I needed more than 6 inputs, rather than a single of those fancy automatic ones. The only thing the Otaku needs is a better, slimmer casing, but a DIY is no big deal, I'll make one ASAP.
I also liked the length of this video. It's the first one I saw from your channel, too. Great work. Well explained, good video quality. And it conveyed all the info I wanted about this device. :) Thanks. Keep it up.
Short videos showing set up / usage can be invaluable. Sometimes its hard to fully understand a product just by reading on some website pages, and seeing how they can be used helps greatly.
Great detailed video Bob! :D Love the close up and review with the demo. 10 ish minutes is a a nice video size :D
This is fantastic - I look forward to future analysis of various options
I've been waiting eagerly for this video. Thanks.
Nice Bob! I like all the formats; its nice to have the in depth, but the short ones are good too.
Being able to combine component and SCART into one switch box is going to help me quite a bit.
I like your product reviews. Short or long. I trust your opinion with these.
Thank you it's nice to have options
Good vid, having short and concise vids as future reference and not really in depth is certainly very useful
Thank you for the hint, Its what I'm looking for, I bought it after video. Thanks again
wow so great. for me im using a dedicated scart and a dedicated YUV switch. with this i can combin it in one. so great. thx for this, don't mind this is existing :)
Hey Bob, according to the website, the power adapter is only necessary if you're using it as a component switch. Maybe the voltage regulator has something to do with that.
The most important question is; What is the cycle/actuating life-expectancy of those switches?
69
Matthew Palmer sounds like dinner for 2
Is Bob going to press each switch 1 million times to find out?
RetroGamerBB2019 on point response
@@RetroGamerBB he only has to press it 69 times.
Heck you could even use the thing as an audio switch!
Yes Bob more videos in this format, please!
So on the description of this product on their web page, Otaku games states "It is also usable as a Component Switch but needs to have a power supply connected to work in that mode."
I don't have the technical know how to say why that would be the case or if it really is, but that seems like the official word from the company.
I don't understand the whole "buy it as an entry-level" thing. If you're planning to eventually replace it with a more expensive switch, why not just save up for the more expensive switch in the first place rather than setting yourself back and spending more money overall?
The OSSC supports YPbPr though AV1 (scart port), really curious to confirm that's all lined up correctly to just work with a component console.
This review had sold me on this switch. The company that you order it from has yet to update me on any status of my order and it's pushing 3 months now. I expected a delay, but contacted them on any status of how long it would be or if it's going to ship out at all. They were able to charge me immediately, but it's been processing for the entire time. I never seen such shotty customer service. Buyer beware if you're trying to order this all.
Alright finally got through Otaku Games thanks to raising a PP claim, which seems to be the only thing they react to, while everything from their website to social is unpracticable or unresponsive.
They have shipped mine a few days ago, but didn't notify by email or anything! Also according to them my country was under shipping restrictions until recently, which they didn't communicate on either.
So who knows fellow patient customer, maybe yours is on the way too? but you might want to go through the same channel I did in order to get your order's status info and tracking #.
I'll let ppl know when mine arrives for the sake of confirming.
@@vanguardcat dam I’m glad I saw this. Won’t be ordering that!
I did get mine finally towards September. Claiming it was a covid issue. I would've been totally fine with that if they had simply notified me with it. The product works great, but the customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. I got through ranting on their twitter account because I wasn't the only one wonder what was going on. I had gotten a hold of them when I challenged my charge through my credit card company. After that it went smoothly thanks to the credit card company backing me up.
Would this work with the Retrotink 5X? If I sent an RGB signal from my scart cables through the component output on the switch would the 5X accept the signal through the component Input?
Do you have any other switch recommendations? I ordered this almost 3 months ago and still have not received it. I read that the owner of Otaku-games has died.
We're in the tail end of a global part shortage, so most things are delayed. Here's my list with a decent video on top: www.retrorgb.com/scartswitches.html
Mine was ordered 6 months ago and from what I can tell, the owner has passed away yes, and apparently it was a one man business. Not sure a parts shortage is relevant in this case.
Do they daisy chain okay?
Loved this. I'm still on the fence about something like this vs the GScartSW. I really like the simultaneous dual output though... Really wanna get into streaming with an HDMI upscaler while still playing on my PVM.
If you're into streaming, save up for the gscartsw. It solves so many problems.
@@RetroRGB Thank you!
@@RetroRGB Finally settled on the Shinybow SB-5525. It's everything I needed from the Gscart with a lower pricetag.
Thinking about adding one of these Otakus to daisychain to the Shinybow for additional inputs. :)
@@InvictvsNox That's probably what I am gonna get if my wacky setup doesn't end up working. Gonna have my Saturn going into a RetroTink RGB2COMP, then that goes into a powered component switch. From there, I have one output of component cables going my TV and will have one going into a MayFlash YPbPr to RGBHV VGA powered adapter, which will then go into the USB3HDCAP via the VGA->DVI adapter & audio from the component switcher. I bought a cheap USB3HDCAP with no breakout cables, convinced I can find a cheaper solution. Mostly just being silly and over-complicating things!
Great vid Bob!
Ordered this device on February 15, now on April 25, the order was not sent yet. Write that a delay because of the Chinese New year. I hope that will send in March as promised.
How does this work using a Retro Tink 5X? The website says built in RGB to component Converter. That makes me think I could hook a RGB cable to this and run it into the component side of the tink. I assume it would just output through the Scart. I guess what I'm saying is can I share component and SCART on the same channel plugged into the Tink as long as both are not on.
I thought RGB are twenty-one pins..? But I count only twenty on those sockets
This is pretty good. Wondering if i will have a problem with sync with luma for the ps1's? the rest will be c-sync to the framemeister. Im going to have some component for the xbox, ps2 Ill just put some tape there so i don't mix them up.
So i won't have any degrading in picture quality right?
I think this is about the right amount of of connections for my needs. IDK if i may need more in the future but everything is turning into fpga so it doesn't matter much.
Ok, so you can use EITHER of the outputs, not both at the same time?
Correct
@@RetroRGB
Still cool
Wich rgb splitter do you think is the best taking into account quality/price ratio now in 2020? Still this one you analyzed in this video or there are better options at present? Congratulations for your channel, impressive!!. Regards from Spain
I'm disappointed they only made them in 6 input models. I really wish they could get them made as an 8-12 input, with less crap all around it.
Great review! Really interested in this device.
Just to be sure though - if you input Scart and output RCA, you MUST use it on a pvm/bvm, correct (since there is no conversion, therefore sync is not on one of the cables needed for YPbPr)?
Having a actual switch on a board to change ether scart or component would of been a better idea.
If I put scart and component on line 1. can i use them both as long as I have one powered on at a time? Or should i just use one connector for line one and not use the other connector, if this is the case id put something so i won't mix them up.
Does anyone know the answer to this? I’m also wondering...
so if i hook up this switch via rgb scart and plug a wii component cable into one of the component input slots (not the component output, as you can only use one output, in my case rgb scart) the wii component cables will be passed through the rgb scart output im using
I have two Bandridge mechanical switches daisy-chained together and attached to one another via velcro command strips. That gives me 9 ports and works flawlessly. They were $50 each (although one was a gift) plus another $20 for the 2 male to male Scart cables needed to chain them together and hook them to the Framemeister. Only downside is you have to take them apart and cut a trace on their board because they leak power into other systems. Once you do that you're set.
Thanks for this video. I know this is an old video, but I see you were using a kabeldirekt scart cable here, is it a good cable? Because I want to buy a scart to scart (male to male) cable, and it's very expensive from all the known good sellers.
The KabelDirekt’s are “fine”. They’re not bad, but they’re not actually shielded. I’d definitely recommend getting a fully shielded cable from Retro Access or Retro Gaming Cables.
Do anyone know what those button module components are called? i want to buy some off aliexpress but i do not know what to look for
5:45 Bob, do you know for sure what that toggle switch does? I'd like to know if it changes the scart output to an input or if it changes the RCA output to an input. I'd like to be able to hook up 7 consoles to it if possible.
noting the comment at 4:59... could you get away with doubling up SCART/RCA on one input slot as long as only one console was powered on at at time? Or is that still a bad idea?
Currently I am mixing and matching on this switch and it's working out great. GameCube component, SNES SCART and PS2 SCART going into different inputs... SCART to BNC going out into a PVM. Works perfectly! Only asking the above question because I'm gonna end up with 6 SCART devices + 1 component when my shopping is done. Might have to settle for a "manual switch" here and there! Or heck, maybe Dreamcast can settle for S-Video since the PVM has a separate input available for it... but I digress. Thanks again for the great video!
No, still a bad idea for a few reasons. Good question though.
@@RetroRGB thank you for the feedback - will avoid!!
So if you use a YPbPr via RCA you can output YPbPr via scart
Love the video I’ve just ordered one how long did it take yours to ship out? Right now I’m thinking that the 1-2 weeks on the listing picture means there’s a 1-2 week wait time before they ship it out.
Ordered to Australia on Friday got it the next Friday (7 Days)
So I was thinking about getting an otaku RGB switch.
It has two outputs, not usable simultaneous. But can I connect them both and use the switch on the board to us one or another without having to disconnect cables?
I would like to run one set through the retrotink 2x and the other set through my OSSC.
Good question, but unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.
@@RetroRGB okay, good to know. Would it work if I had a killswitch for component? That would work like physically disconnecting it, correct?
I'd also like to know this. I want to buy this switch to distribute the signal to the OSSC and Framemeister (not at the same time). If I'd need to disconnect cables each time this switch would be pointless for me as I could as well just switch cables between OSSC and FM. I could technically use a SCART splitter but it's impossible to find any higher quality ones and I don't really want to buy the cheap Chinese stuff from Ebay...
@RetroRGB what do you think about the joytech av control center 2? Is it better, equal or worst than the Otaku switches?
Isin't that voltage regulator part of some kind rgb to yuv converting unit. Guessing that because on their page Otaku says you need power supply: 'Additionally to the regular 6 Port Scart Switch it has RCA RGB inputs on all 6 inputs. It is also usable as a Component Switch but needs to have a power supply connected to work in that mode. Please be aware that only standard size Scart connectors fit on this variant as shown in the product pictures.'
But as I said, it's only my guess. And to be honest doubt power supply is needed for scart, because if consol is not feeding scart with voltage tv won't set into rgb mode but should have composite video insted.
There is absolutely no RGB to YUV conversion going on on this switch.
@@RetroRGB my bad, so got no idea why it needs voltage regulator, cap, and resistors.
I asked them the same question and still can't really understand why either. I THINK it's for TV's that need voltage to switch between composite and RGB modes. If you're using a scaler or RGB monitor, it should work without power though.
Hi! Thanks for this video, really informative!
I was wondering what I'd need if I'm planning on inputting SCART RGB and using RCA to output to a GBS Control, which has RGBS (or SOG) inputs. It seems like no one's really selling RGBS male-to-male cables? I could only find ones for specific consoles.
Is this what you need?: www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/audio-video-accessories/scart-leads/Male-to-male-RGB-SCART-cable-fully-shielded-coaxial-75-OHM?tracking=5543fb4c077bb
@@RetroRGB Thanks for the reply. I'm looking for the same signal over RCA, so that I can input SCART to the switch but output RGB over RCA instead of the SCART out.
Basically, if I'm understanding correctly, I'm looking for something similar to what's shown in 9:48 just without the BNC connectors, if that's possible (as I'd be using the GBS-C's RGBS RCA inputs instead of a PVM or a CRT). Here's hoping I'm not terribly confused here.
Well, I think the GBS-C only accepts RGBs over the dsub, not RCA connectors. But if so, you can just use a SCART to BNC cable with some cheap adapters:
www.amazon.com/dp/B01420D28K

@@RetroRGB Ah, got it. Thanks again!
What does the light on the board indicate? I just received mine today and I noticed it doesn't light up if I start my Mega Drive or Dreamcast, but it does light up when I start my Wii. If I turn the Wii off and then start either of the Sega consoles, then the light remains on. This is through SCART on all devices.
i have a question about the 2 Out. I assume one is the SCART at the end and the other is the RCA Out next to it? Does this mean that we can only output to either one of these at any given time? Or can we do both at the same time too?
the cheaper one still has the output rca jacks, it is only lacking the input jacks
Also, these jacks: www.ebay.com/itm/QTY-10-6-WAY-PCB-FEMALE-RCA-JACKS-GREEN-YELLOW-BLUE-WHITE-RED-RED-RCA-268N1-14/112220720415?hash=item1a20e04d1f:g:mC0AAOSw2xRYPjPU:sc:USPSFirstClass!40245!US!-1:rk:2:pf:0 fit the rca jack footprints if you want to upgrade later down the road, though if you know you want them it's cheaper to buy the board with them already on.
and a few resistors, I believe.
So i can plug my component cable and my scart cable and choise betwenn the six component cable when à wont (on my ossc) and choice betwenn my scart an on ossc when à wont to play à rgb console ? (of course not at the same time, I Just wont to know if I can let all my cables on, scart and component included)
Great video , is this still good in todays market ? I see they have an auto switcher now should I stay away or give that ago ?
Do not buy one of these, you will never see it.
Does it output composite from a scart input?
It passes through whatever it receives.
Well that's cool
I may be really late to the party on this one, but will this switch work going from console to Retrotink 5x? And does it add any lag?
No lag. And what goes in comes out - So as long as the console works when connected directly to the TINK, it’ll work through this.
@@RetroRGB Awesome! Thanks for your help! ... especially on a five year old comment section 😊
Do you know what opower supply i could use with this in the USA? Just out of interest :)
does it affect the audio if you use the scart inputs and scart output for video and the RCA output for audio from the scart input ? hope that makes sense. basically id like to also use it to breakout the audio from all the scart inputs
Good question: As long as you aren't outputting audio to two different sources, that'll work fine.
@@RetroRGB nice thank you . also really enjoy your videos , keep em up
do you thik i could use one otakt switch to connect 6 consoles and then connect he output to the outout to another switch and the second switches input connected to 6 different monitors? so basicly choose 1 consoles signal and choose 1 of 6 monitors to display on
Obviously it's an edge case, but would this likely damage something outputting to both the RCA and the Scart output at once? I have a 3 CRT setup, and it's unlikely I'd ever want to output to multiple consoles at once, but I guess I am wary of damaging something even having 2 outputs connected at the same time
It's not good to even have two devices plugged into both outputs, let alone try to feed a signal to both at the same time.
Anyone know where to buy good shielded cable so I can make my own SCART extensions?
They need to make a model with more inputs.
This should be enough: lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=149
😉
Could do you 2 systems in port 1 on both but only power 1 console during use? Will tjag be fine?
No, only one in each input
I feel like this would be perfect for my situation using the retrotink 2x pro. Personally im considering having a mix of scart for things like snes/genesis and component for things like ps2. This thing looks great because it seems to not only be a good switch box but also a good way to make everything compatible with the retrotink. Am I missing something or is the process actually that simple?
This switch does NOT convert the signals, only passes them through. You'd have to convert RGB to component for the TINK Pro to be compatible.
@@RetroRGB Got it. I was a bit confused because I had heard someone else say something along the lines of "you can basically think of the Retrotink component inputs as RGB inputs", and I misunderstood that as meaning they were compatible with RGB and component. I did a bit of research and apparently Otaku games has a version of this switch with a built in RGB-component converter that costs a decent amount more.
im looking to buy mi first rgb scart switch, i was going to buy a bandridge or a hama, is this one better or worse?
The Hama 100S? I have this and it's a great basic option for 3:1 SCART with audio breakout.
Careful, ESD foam is conductive !
ryoandr that White stuff ain‘t ESD foam.
@@xantam23 it's worse then, since it can build and carry an electrostatic charge.
Im just getting into the rgb scart world. Your videos and website have been a huge help. Just recently got a Sony Trinitron that has component input. Was thinking of using this switch in my setup. This might be a dumb question but I cant find a simple answer.
For an RGB modded NES could i put the video through a scart cable and the audio through RCA cables into the same input, then output both the audio/video through the component out into my Trinitron using this device?
Its my understanding it’s advisable to avoid putting audio through the SCART cable on Nes and people have mixed feelings about stereo vs mono. Was planning on keeping stock NES audio.
Yeah, that'd work with this switch! As long as audio wasn't both in the SCART head and the RCA's.
Awesome thank you!
I might be missing something, but since he has an RGB modded NES and needs to go to a Trinitron with component doesn't he need an RGB to component adapter? I'm wondering because I need a good solution for Scart RGB to component, because the cheap one from Amazon sucked.
Thats a good question, anybody know the answer?
This is a consumer grade model, not a PVM/BVM. www.crutchfield.com/S-NBG2QEipyT9/p_15836FV16/Sony-KV-36FV16.html
Now that im thinking about it i probably do need a rgb to component transcoder
Can I just take the stereo sound from RCA out for amplifier and connect RGB video via SCART out for TV the same time?
Yup! Doing that with audio is fine, just not with video: ruclips.net/video/DHoA2vVZh8Q/видео.html
Hello, I'm new to this. Eitherhow, is this a component switch? All my consoles use component cables, can I connect them to this device and switch between consoles? Is it autoswitch? Thanks for the video

@@RetroRGB Thank you for providing this information. You've been very helpful to me. Keep it up, BIG RESPECT!!!
Dose anyone know if I could use the dual output on this to send rca audio to my amplifier and my TV at the same time and would this cause any problems?
Audio dual output is totally safe. Video dual output is NOT safe...including even having more than one video output connected, even if the 2nd target is powered off. These are the ones Ste uses. Expensive, but good quality: www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/cinch-connectivity-solutions-aim-cambridge/CPAD517/J10099-ND/414256
it states on the website now that if you want to use the component sources that the device needs to be powered, but yours showed it didn't. any info on that?
No and I'm still not sure why. Just don't plug both SCART and RCA into the same number port and it just works.
Should I get this over the gcompsw? I only have a Wii and PS2. Never plan on using SCART.
If you only have two consoles and don't need two outputs, then my recommendation is yes, start with this switch and see if it works for you. If you need dual-output, you'd need the gcomp though.
Hi RetroRGB
What size power adapter is needed for this ( A 5v, 2amp Samsung phone charger? ) I can't find the info for this on their webpage.
I suggest not using a power adapter at all.
What about sync on green? Will that work with it?
Anything you put in will come out. Zero processing, just passthrough.
@@RetroRGB I know I'm a year late but what about output? I know it does dual non-simultaneous output but say if I hook up a SCART cable to it, would I be able to output that through component to my OSSC and vice versa (component to SCART)?
woah! wait, so this would also pass component thru the scart as well if i get the one with those inputs? I also have a couple consoles going thru component apart from SCART to the OSSC
Yes, it'll pass whatever you send. Please remember it won't convert anything though, only pass through.
@@RetroRGB hey, so I finally got this a couple weeks back, and also got my retrotink today.. since it seems like Retrotink5x can't take Component over SCART I hooked up a Component out cable to it, and i notice the component signal has way less vibrant colors VS hooking it up directly to the retrotink.. do u think its just bad component cable?
@@RetroRGB actually you know what.. i figured it out... if I unplug the SCART cable when using component it passes it thru ok.. still kind of sucks that Retrotink cant take Component over SCART tho, I had this switch working perfect for my OSSC, but now with the retrotink5x its not ideal at all lol.. probably better off only using it for scart, and re-plugging my PS2 and Gamecube into retrotink separately...
@@RetroRGB Should this switch theoretically pass Component without adding any noise if the cables are good? I was thinking of grabbing a second one for my component stuff, since I have one in use for SCART already, but I bought some HD Retrovision Male to male cables, and tested the switch with them and my Carby Component, and i get so much more noise thru the switch than connecting Carby to the RT5x directly.. does that mean the HD Retrovision cables are bad?
Hey Bob, I'm sort of confused on what you mean by only use one? I was planning on getting this in the hopes of it taking in 3 component cables and 3 SCART cables, and then using both the component out and SCART out directly into my retrotink 5x at the same time. Is this a bad idea? Like I know they will be doing dual output, but does that mean I need to unplug the component when I use SCART or unplug the SCART when I flip the switch to a component console? If that doesn't work doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of this having both?
Respectfully, you're both fully understanding and "not getting it" at the same time. The purpose of the two outputs is for people to choose what's easiest for them to use, EITHER the RCA or SCART outputs. What you're suggesting is not the intended use. Why not find a cheap component switch on eBay and use this for SCART only?
@@RetroRGB Hahaha no worries, I'm super new to this whole thing honestly. I only have a few months of it under my belt 😬. I have a nice JVC Component switch which I could use, but it only has 3 ports. Luckily I only have 3 consoles over component and the rest are SCART anyways, But I thought this would be sick all in one solution to the retrotink. Maybe I should plan on going full SCART in the future. I assume doing what I was going to do could cause some damage? Thanks again for the reply Bob!
If you're only a few months in, be proud...this stuff can be REALLY confusing, but you already seem to have a good grasp on it. Yeah, using both outputs at the same time has potential to damage stuff, but there's other solutions. Going all SCART or all component is an easy solution, as long as all the console you plan on using offer both. HD Retrovision cables are a help if you're going component.
So what exactly is the advantage of a gscartsw over this?
ruclips.net/video/KeMPPyJAM_w/видео.html
Can anyone here confirm if this works fine with a Frameister?
I bought one but when I use the scart to scart i bought from their site there is no video from the switch. Anyone else have something like this?
Did you resolve?
@@thefifthdoctor6780 turns out i had the 7th Scart input sent to IN instead of OUT
A huge Duh moment
You keep talking about there being better, more worthwhile solutions. What exactly do they offer that this one doesn't? Auto-switching? Is it that big of a deal?
The better more worthwhile solutions unmentioned are: 1. Autoswitching with the Hydra or gscartsw. 2. 6scart IR-Remote controller switching with the Shinybow 6:2 SCART. 3. The big ass Extron Crosspoint Switcher TOUCHSCREEN Remote Control (iPad, Android, etc.).
Right, and sync regeneration, voltage control, input circuit protection...there's a long list.
Wow there's no subtlety with naming of this thing. "Hey nerds here's an a/v device that lets you play old video games with foreign video standards."
More of this shorter stuff
Nice
In the standard version of this scart switch there is also a on/off switch right next to the component outputs. Can I also feed the scart switch with component inputs when I turn that switch on?
I'm not sure what you mean, but it's just a passthrough switch. Whatever comes in will be passed through to the outputs.
@@RetroRGB The device you tested has 6 additional rca/component boards for input. On the website, you can also buy a model without those. I just wanted to point out that this model (and also your tested model) has a little switch next to the standard component board and when you turn it on, you can also pass through a component signal to your CRT, so this board is not just for output! I tested it and it works. The additional component board helps me to pass through my component signal coming from my Corio2 downscaler, which is connected to my PC. You didn't mention this in your video, that's why I brought it up. This info might be interesting for people who only want or need one component input and want to save some money. Keep up the good work! Love your channel :)
Any good place to buy quality male to make scart cable with 0.5m lenght in europe?

Noob question - if I have scart as my input/s can output to framemeister via the component output?
No, as it doesn't change the signal, only the output connector.
@@RetroRGB ok thank you that's handy to know. Guess I need 2 scart outputs after all then. The hunt continues...
Noob question: some of my consoles use csync and some sync on luma. What do I need to get for a scart-out cable? (Hope this makes sense)
Good question and an easy answer: It doesn't matter :) Seriously, just get any good quality SCART to SCART cable and it'll work.
RetroRGB so any good quality scart cable will pass through either the signal coming from csync or sync on luma without degrading them?
@@brandinsaurusrex yes.
Could I put scart in but output component?
It passes through whatever you send it, but it won't convert the signal.
@@RetroRGB Hey! What does convert the signal means exactly? If I put scart in and output component to a modern led tv, I won't be able to see anything, right?
Do you know if this works with the OSSC?
The switch just passes signals through without changing them. If your device works directly plugged into the OSSC, it'll work when connected through this.
Will it work with Jp21 cables?
I haven't tested it, but as long as all the cables (input and output) are JP21, it should work.
