Amazing vid!! I think the ultimate challenge run, and one that maybe only you could manage would be some kind of "Fresh Start" run Basically, you stay at Soul Level 1 just like your stream, but, after every boss, you must throw away all items, magic and equipment in your inventory except the broken straight sword. This means that after each boss you will have a completely "fresh start", just like when you load up a new game, and will have to scavenge resources and try and craft the best build possible for each boss encounter with very limited resources. I think this build would be incredibly fun because of the variety it forces, the craziest spells, weapons and armours can all get a use but only once!! Having to clear all bosses and playing as deprived would be in the spirit of the run, but might make it too hard to complete! I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts, I really think this would be the most impressive DS1 Challenge ever completed!
I think it would be a fun challenge to watch, but I really don't think it would be nearly as difficult as you're imagining. People do "use what you see" randomizer runs all the time, which involves constantly changing equipment. Also DS1 is pretty good at having a good selection of weapons available to you at any given point in the game
@@JHobzStreams True, I think binning consumables and an armour shortage will make it pretty tough, especially as being deprived will really limit how effectively you can wield weapons
Zero Lenny already did a bunch of "Broken Straight Sword/Deprived runs" I've even seen that absolute legend beat BloodBorne with just a torch. Sometimes even breaks the broken straight sword for even less damage. Pretty much just gives each boss 10,000 slaps and carries on to the next one. The videos are pretty funny too.

@@epicgamer2671 Thanks! But actually it was not much painful, it was more like a patience run, because 90% of the time I was walking very slowly. I used that time to take a better look at the scenario and noticed some details that I never paid attention before :)
How about a challenge where you can only kill a boss with a weapon made from their own soul? Either modded or ng+ to get the weapons. Outside of boss fights you can use any boss weapon
What about Nito, he doesn't have a boss weapon. Unless you use Gravlord Greatsword the covenant weapon. Same with Ceaseless Dischargre, Bed of Chaos and a bunch of other minor bosses.
@@thekaz5225 the covenant weapon is essentially his boss weapon let's be honest. Bed of chaos is a gimmick boss. Not really worth worrying about. Ceaseless can be killed by gravity. And you can glitch out centipede demon. Other than those bosses...it's pretty doable.
@@thatacepanda Oh? So demon Fire Sage, Stray Demon, Capra Demon, Kalameet, and the Four Kings are doable then? Also what's the point of using glitches and gravity if the challenge is to use their own "boss weapons" against them. Just saying, sounds cool in theory but it's not as simple as it sounds.
@@thekaz5225 okay four kings you got me on. But demon fire sage. You get his weapon, stray demon is almost the same so can use demon fire sage's weapon (maybe). Capra demon, Taurus demon their weapons are drops. Sure not a boss soul but its a boss weapon in technicalities. Kalameet. Tail weapon. Maybe I'm being a bit more lenient by saying boss weapon and not boss soul weapons. That's definitely different. The only thing I can think would count for four kings....is the dark hand...and that's stretching it somewhat...and just...no 😂. Yeah I understand why bother if you gonna glitch but also tbf you can beat dark souls without facing demon fire sage stray demon or the centipede demon.
I don't think that possible actually. He doesn't land without Hawkeye's help and will stay in the air, breathing fire. I could be very wrong but I don't know if he could tank the damage or reach him with spells.
Literally the definition of “didn’t break a sweat” Also, yeah, power within is so great. The best part is that it’s pyromancy, so it’s very easy to add it to any build. I even used it in my first playthrough, where I’ve made the 40/40 claymore build with elite armor (there were armors with better stats, but elite knight set just looks the best)
Totally crazy challenge again! Thank you very much, I very much enjoyed the video (I'd have considered it impossible before watching it). Note that (unlike in DS2 and DS3) shooting a crossbow also does not cost stamina in DS1. But you have shown impressively that sorceries combined with power within is all one needs to 'walk through' the game. My proposal for a DS1 challenge run: is it possible to beat the game without using the camera stick (this also means: no lock-on onto enemies, since the right stick needs to be pressed for this (when using an XBOX controller)? Originally, I wondered if one can beat O&S without using the camera, as a decent technique here is normally required in the fight to be able to always view what both of the two are doing. But I guess that a number of other bosses could become difficult (impossible?) without the camera+lock-on, too (Four Kings, for instance).
Hey why don't you do the spell only runs in the other souls games, I'm sure folks would love to watch them, it feels like your standing on a gold mine of content

@@thekaz5225 well obviously. DS2 had Climax, which you could easily see doing 10k damage in certain scenarios if I remember correctly. @@rickswordfire4774 I meant his dying words. But if that’s aloud then the run will be possible but pretty difficult. It’s a great idea I may try this myself!
@@scantyer The prompt says "Pray", but to go with the socially awkward theme (and to not make it too easy) Ravelord covenant should be off limits.
If you use cast light before manus, his magic attacks will roll off you as you had a constant silver talisman. Also great shields can block with no stamina cost if you biff them with great magic shield, but I don’t know how useful the second one would be.
Literally had to come back for the maniac laughter during the 4 kings boss fight
Darksouls expect your only aloud to level resistance
I considered suggesting something like that, where you can only level up 1 stat throughout the entire game, but I never got around to suggesting it, glad to see someone else thought of that idea
@@hepic2874 thank you
I actually really like this idea :-)
@@thefirehydrationunit5887 you are welcome, I am gonna say that shields are nearly useless for a challenge like this, so only magic spells.
Don't worry, i am sure it will be interesting
@@KJ-kn8pg Danke Schoen
I've just finished the game for the first time now im binging these challenges, so amazing what you do!
I like to imagine that this character is just perpetually out of breath and wheezing as they traipse along at a casual stroll
Kills gods in moments*
Runs out of breath walking to them*
I knew Pinwheel would be murder without rolling. Dude deals a lot of damage but people underestimate that because his attacks are fairly easy to avoid.
That gwyin fight was hilarious!
I love this series so much. And the music choices are fucking INSPIRED. Well done, sir.
Amazing vid!!
I think the ultimate challenge run, and one that maybe only you could manage would be some kind of "Fresh Start" run
Basically, you stay at Soul Level 1 just like your stream, but, after every boss, you must throw away all items, magic and equipment in your inventory except the broken straight sword.
Sounds pretty cool
Already commented on an older vid, but your lack of subscribers is astonishing.
Great quality videos in every aspect and sticking to rules with no BS.
You deserve atleast a million and I hope to see you reach it!
I'd love to see these same challenge runs in DS3😁
me "but items??
3:44 gamers "so i realized that a bit in"
What about a boss weapon only run? I tryd it it’s most definitely possible but I couldn’t finish it because I had plans coming up and just didn’t have the time to finish it btw love your vids it inspired me to do challenge runs to so thanks so much for the awesome content you make 👍
You killed andre instead of farming souls. you are a monster!
I did a similar run that also includes not rolling recently, a over 100% equip load run. For the first time, BED OF CHAOS was the hardest boss. I want to see you try this one!
(the only impossible part is a section with 4 axes in Sen's Fortress)
Sounds painful,congrats on beating it!
@@epicgamer2671 Thanks!
But actually it was not much painful, it was more like a patience run, because 90% of the time I was walking very slowly. I used that time to take a better look at the scenario and noticed some details that I never paid attention before :)
God, that laught with 4 (or more) kings! Pure gold! And btw, great work with the challange!
I literally said "what a legend" out loud when I saw the title
As great as this video is, I really appreciate that you mention the songs used in the video!
I've finally satisfied a long awaited earworm!
How about a challenge where you can only kill a boss with a weapon made from their own soul? Either modded or ng+ to get the weapons. Outside of boss fights you can use any boss weapon
I'm here to like and comment because I suggested the same thing on a livestream VOD
I haven't seen anyone else mention this but I love that you're using Curse of Darkness music in the beginning
god bless
Technically you COULD fight kalameet without crest key it is a real big pain
I don't think that possible actually. He doesn't land without Hawkeye's help and will stay in the air, breathing fire. I could be very wrong but I don't know if he could tank the damage or reach him with spells.
@@dorianofdeath5470 ah ok thanks for the info
@@dorianofdeath5470 If he could block it would be possible.
The fact that I recognize a song from Castlevania Curse of Darkness here... Amazing. Thank you so very much for that small trip to nostalgia.
"Or letting an enemy have their way with me"
*Marvelous Chester can have his way with me* 😏😏
Literally the definition of “didn’t break a sweat”
Also, yeah, power within is so great.
Awesome cut. Awesome music pic. Awesome vid. Great job, man!
Hey why don't you do the spell only runs in the other souls games, I'm sure folks would love to watch them, it feels like your standing on a gold mine of content
I believe he said that he will do challenges once he does a full playthrough of each game. He's almost done with DS2 so that shouldn't take too long.
Magic is OP in Ds1 and 2, but it kinda sux in 3. They heavy nerfed magic spell damage as well as Max damage potential. Although 3 offers a large variety, nothing comes close to the damage output that was possible in number 1 and 2.
@@thekaz5225 well obviously. DS2 had Climax, which you could easily see doing 10k damage in certain scenarios if I remember correctly. In DS3; magic isn’t weak - except early game Miracle, and CSS still has the highest per-hit damage in the game.
Honestly, I would love to see silly DS2 runs; the amount of spells in the game is amazing
I'm glad you're back to the short videos, I loved these challenge series so much, and I wish you'd redo the previous streamed ones as a short video like this ^^
There goes my plans for the day
Watching a character casually walking through the game holding a staff makes it look like a game about trekking x)
I was gonna do my homework but I guess that plan just went out the window.
8:40 "One quick _walk_ down to the ghost town"
FTFY
the sloth challenge
"And I killed Andre"
And then I stopped watching the video. Nobody disrespects best Smith.
Hey did you know that with your setup you could have actually killed Kalameet easier by letting him stay flying? Its a speedrun tactic, though it requires some precise positioning and knowledge of some tricks
The content I need
What are you thinking dude
I love the way you do the transitions with the adds, it seems like I'm watching tv
Watching your sub count grow is amazing! Your editing has always been so fun and I listen to your videos while I work. I remember when the archery challenge came out and you hit 300 subs! So proud and then I realized I never subbed yet! A problem I have now fixed. Can’t wait until you’re a Fromsoft household name!
Your use of kh1 hollow bastion music in the second half was amazing
Solid work my man! Hat tip from one no stamina enjoyer to another :D
Holy shit! I have t watche you in three months because I got busy, and now you aren’t at 46 thousand! You were at like, not 20 thousand last time! Congrats dude! Now this is epic!
I usually watch a few videos from a creator before deciding whether I subscribe or not but you're pretty pog so I'll sub
Mimic head/ no bonfire challenge Kyle!
God, your editing is absolutely stellar, as always.
First thought that popped in my mind was "he's doing this again?" then i clicked and remembered you're one of the few people that hasn't done a video on this challenge yet lol
You are absolutely insane. Incredible respect man.
Every time I watch one of your vids I think to myself, maybe I should give DS another chance, because man they look more than just a little bit impressive. This stuff is insane o.O
Ymfah would be proud
Bit off topic but really enjoying the Castlevania: Curse of Darkness appreciation through the music you use, game is way underrated
I love that you use the Music of Zelda: Wind Waker. It is so nice in combination to your explanations and pictures. Nicely done. ^^
For Kalameet you could use some speedrunner tactics which allows you to kill him before using Gough.
wow man the video quality has skyrocketed, good stuff man
This run is very hard to watch because my dark souls instincts keep kicking in and my subconscious keeps saying “roll there, parry there, he needs to be running right there”
First of all, fantastic video as always, the audio quality is phenomenal! The destroyer comment was absolute gold, but you miiiiiiight want to work on your maniacal laugh lol
Oh yeah, it definitely wasn’t my best lol. I usually do this all in one take and didn’t hear how bad it was until after I was done 😅
@@GamersWeekend Hey, like all evil geniuses you gotta work at it, nobody is born with the perfect maniacal laugh lol
Imagine if you got mask of the child for this run. Just for salt in the wound.
No but I did get the Black Knight Halberd
I completely lost my shit at the part around 17:55 when you go from calmly explaining a thought process to absolute madness! =D
NGL I really enjoy these challenges, and I ended up not only subscribing but hitting the bell too. I appreciate all the work you put into each of these videos, and hope you'll continue to do these ridiculous challenges for as long as you can come up with new ones.
Elden ring is coming out soon, too, so I'm sure there will be plenty more ideas sparked with that! ^w^
The quality of these videos has gone up tremendously 👍
