- Dark Souls is a game that's very Dark and full of Souls. Go figure. But what would happen if you took away the player's ability to spend souls? Would they be able to complete the entire game?

It took me 10 minutes to realize his character was a ginger. In a Soulless run.
*sighs in redhead*
Right there with ya, the funniest part is I go by the name Soul XD.
Think of it this way : You inherit a genetic sequence that is becoming increasingly rare and gives you an enormous advantage if you were indeed put in a place that was no souls and all darkness. *positive outlook*
Hello darkness my old friend. Ha!
@@AquaMaryn. Y'know, you gotta point. When the Lord of Dark lets the fire fade, I'll be ready lol
_also sighs in redhed_
So just dark. This will be fun
Dark Remastered.
Which sounds like an A24 movie.
Dark remastered sounds like a basketball tournament lol
If thats only dark, how would be only souls?
Yo bro
Project dark was the dev name of the game so its kinda fitting.
The ENTIRE run I was thinking about durability and it only came up during Manus. That is crazy.
Great work, now finish the game with your monitor turned off. The real "Dark" experience.
"Dark"
no it would be " "
I actually did this challenge, and for anyone who wants to do it, i found using the hunter class was the easiest because you can use the crystal halberd in anor londo and have the same health and stamina. That halberd was a meat grinder with buffs and gold pine resins.
Yeah, I also did it, and that halberd was insane. Occult club and Blacksmith hammer are also pretty good for random mobs when you don't want to waste durability.
Came here to mention this busted weapon; did an introvert run where I couldn't talk to NPCs and Crystal Halberd was great. 300 AR, buffable, 140 hits before it 'breaks' which is enough to get through the lord souls and dlc.
Use souls? Can't I eated them all
ate
😇
Bro thinks he is Gael
@@thecompliationvideos4246 eated
i EATED it all 💔💔💔
Hear me out now. Dark souls cursed run. You can only use cursed weapons and you have to play the whole game cursed.
I actually looked at the ghost blade for a build a while ago, its really not that bad of a dagger.
What if he made it so that getting hit built up curse?
@GamersWeekend DO IT!
I don't think anybody will want to choose to suffer such an experience, being cursed for a short amount of time is a miserable experience but doing it for the whole game would be: Soul-shattering.
@@PlanetNateGaming Exactly!
Dark hand: you abandoned me
Isn't that only gotten after the four kings, or as a drop from darkwraiths? Either way, that seems like a challenge to get
@@UCXEO5L8xnaMJhtUsuNXhlmQ Drop from darkwraiths and a reward from Kaathe if you join his covenant after fighting Four Kings before placing the Lordvessel under Frampt. If one deals with Frampt first, Kaathe's covenant will be unreachable in that game cycle.
Blacksmith Giant Hammer:
(Tho the giant blacksmith is relieved right now I guess)
Power within drains 1% of your hp for 100 seconds (6:44). Vitality doesn't matter
1% of 100 total hp is a lot more impactfull than 1% of 2000 total. Bc, even if it takes around 50% of your health. In the second one you will still having 1000hp, and that will make you survive a lot of things
For Nito, you can just combine the Fog Ring and Slumbering Dragon Ring to have the minions ignore you completely.
Works with Capra too, despite the cramped space.
24:36 YOU ARE A GENIUS! I'm so doing that from now on.
"We start by naming our character joja, after the soulless corporation of Stardew Valley" completely caught me by surprise. Accurate, though, joja is soulless, and much like dark souls, has random dead bodies and people who have given up on life all over the place.
It's absolutely mind-blowing to realize this build trivialized the Capra Demon, while other more legitimate builds and methods gave up at the Capra Demon.
Imagine how upset you'd be if you never defeated the Capra Demon despite your "correct" play-style only to discover someone trivializing the boss without spending a single soul. Truly Kafkaesque.
I know it's not exactly the same alley but I just personally did a no COAM run in AC6 which was quite fun.
Kyles out here playing Dark, hold the souls
You always have such great music and tight edits. Another fun run!
Do you know what the song is?
i love your videos a lot and i like to put them on as background noise when i’m driving :)
Sonic Unleashed AND Castlevania Curse of Darkness OSTs? It makes me happy that someone recognizes how good they are.
I'm so glad a found a runner who isn't screaming. I'm not big on these for daily content but they're so good for chilling
I've been trying to figure out what your video format reminds me of and I think I've got it. It feels like an episode of How It's Made from back in the day
Great video!
Wow this is an incredible run! Great job with this one.
Keep in mind that Lord Souls Does acctually count as souls as the souls of bed of chaos is used as currency to quealana(to get fire tempest).
As a huge Stardew and Souls Fan myself, I really liked the character name, very topical. Don't expect a huge overlap in both communities.
The "first" (as the earliest) fire keeper soul actually is the one in the New Londo ruins.
5:54 That bass beat is from Cool Edge - Night for anyone else who wanted to know
(Edit: Just saw that the title was on screen, lol -- I looked it up on shazam)
Which has somehow lead me to listening to the entire Sonic Unleashed OST. Never even considered playing that game, but the composers are cooking
Amazing game, gonna setup my Xbox 360 just to replay
Yo can you tell me what the song before that one is? Like it's so familiar yet I just can't put my finger on it...
Lmao I just realized the title was on screen too. It's Tekken 7's infinite azure map haha
Haven’t finished this video, so I’m not sure if he already mentioned this, but I’m pretty sure Press Continue did this too. Gonna be cool to see how these runs differ.
I'm surprised you didn't go for the Crystal Halberd. Like, sure it can't be used for long, but it would've trivialized most bosses, especially later ones like the Four Kings. But the Deprived class can't even use it so you'd have had to make that decision at the very start of the run.
But hey, I don't mind watching you suffer for our enjoyment, so over all a great run!
im pretty sure the class he chose didnt have the dex for the halberd otherwise you would totally be right
I'm blown away by how good the damage was throughout the base game!
You took the souls .And now, only dark remains
My man heard of a Soul Level 1 playthrough and decided: “huh, sounds too easy. I have a better idea”
I did not think this would be possible. But I am very surprised and impressed
I would have loved to see this as a series. Like i really am curious about all the details, but you only gloss over them. Like i am sure there were several stressful moments fighting the Four Kings, but i didnt get to see any of it. Other creator(s) have made these challenges into series with fine success. And you'd get more bang for your buck, too, spreading it out.
I knew durability was going to be an issue around 4 mins into the video :D surprised it wasn't a problem until 22 mins in
I was gonna say you could farm for repair powder, but I forgot only vagrants drop them.
Wth RUclips never notified me of this video. Great video dude, even if I'm a little late 😅
Basically an even harder soul level 1 run, gotta love it ❤❤
Keep up the amazing work! Glad to see you grow and kick butt in the Ds series :) take it low and slow and rock on man :D cant wait to see every milestone your channel reaches :D
Now just got to do one with a torch going the whole time so you can play Souls
I think the scimitar has the same moveset and DPS as the jagged ghost blade, but I don't know the requirements on dex to use it.
Anyway, amazing vid, friend! :D
Interesting, I don't think I ever watched this kind of challenge run.
Been subbed since sorcery only, you and Lemon are my fave ds content creators for sure! Keep up the great work!!
Oh… and praise the sun!
Seeing those souls build up and reset at the kings was heartwrenching
so fun fact about power within, its health drain is actually based on a percentage of your max hp iirc, so it kinda just kills you at the same rate regardless.
we got "Dark" now to get "Souls" play it with a lantern at all times max brightness and can only join solaires covenant and do his quest
That Tekken theme on the intro 👌🏼
I knew about the durability problem since the beginning. I just hoped it wouldnt be a problem lmao
bro my playthroughs have been so much more fun since i found out the bed of chaos cheese spot
Nice, a new "Dark Souls dumb but fascinating challenges" channel to add to my collection! *subscribes*
i always say to myself that Durability is a non issue for 95% of the players/runs with how high it is and how cheap it is to fix... This run was kinda a proof to me with how far you get without issue under extrem condition xD
ahhhh i LOVE the waters cleansed
This seems like it could be fun in the other souls games too. Ds3 even has some free levels you could get
Ill always be impressed with how often dark souls gets challenge runs even to this day
stamina regen effects stack, sometimes ill run cloranthy grass crest for the double boost its insane ngl
Mental run. Great work.
Curious why you didn't try RTSR though.
Good run, you avoided becoming a demon through determination and faith.
Firekeeper soul is a soul.. so are the grand souls.
Lets just repprase as "no generic souls, you know, the currency kind"
I loved the video Kyle! Defo inspired me to give this challenge a shot myself! Been itching for a reason to play another Souls game
Surprised you didn't try to incorporate the occult club. I'd wager it would've made the Ornstein and Gwyn fights a bit easier.
next challenge: dark souls without "dark"
you must get the happiest ending possible, while having the most fun
While playing the video in the background I heard Joja and the image of Morris slaying gargoyles immediately popped up.
Backlogs been real quiet since this dropped
So weird to see you didn't gave the Crystal Halberd a chance
I'll take a dark souls, hold the souls
with your voice, you’d make for an AMAZING radio show host
This is incredible, oh my goodness 😨
Joja is genuinely a clever name, wth.
Okay, just Souls now.
Wow, I just love watching *Dark Remastered*
you could´ve farmed gold pine resin in the darlroot woods by killling the smal mushrooms near the chest that contains magic weapon
I would have farmed dragon scales and got the dragon form. Those fists slap good (400 AR)
Too time consuming
I thought about this thing about 1.5 year ago. It was just before my exam years marathon part started so I didn't get to do it but "This is possible to do" was what I think of. Before I start this someone else did .
He won't even eat Souls...
Ds2 with only hex is like ds1 with only darkbead
VERY much appreciated u show the song and source
Missed the opportunity to put "Dark _____ Remastered" on the title.
Firekeeper SOUL😮
Really good video
blud forgot the free crystal halberd
Alone time with smough. *shudders*
this will be amazing
Instesd of using Astoras Straight Sword, you could also use the Occult Club and just downgrade it once, which will turn it into a Divine Club +10 😊
Downgrading costs souls too iirc
Thanks for this Kyle 🤝
So its basically his take on a level 1 run without buying anything
Or upgrades
Next video is beating dark souls without dark, so you crank up the brightness to max
Dark Souls: Hobo Edition
Love the video as always!!
My guy played a quick game of dark
I got super sad when the Kings took your 391k souls =[
i immediately know to look forward to andre's execution. will edit if i'm wrong
you got a new subscriber gg keep up the good work
just to say it , u can achieve the same with the bow aiming instead of using binoculars on ingward
Since to decimate is to reduce by 1/10th, then technically each bleed proc decimates the Stray Demon, no?
Edit: Yeah, was wondering when the lightning spear was gonna break and as soon as "one of this run's hidden killers" was mentioned, I went, "oh crap, here it is."
Oh right, this game does have durability.
I'm so used to ds3 durability that when I played ds2 I got scared when my sword broke because I thought I died.
How did you dealt with weapon durability? Afaik it costs souls to fix weapons in ds1
Nevermind, 1 minute later the spear broke
I think he forgot about the crystal halberd
Says no souls but then immediately turns in a fire keeper soul to upgrade the estus. Tsk tsk I say!
The fire keeper soul is a soul as well...
Paying attention to the rules is a thing as well...
As a question to the durability problem: why did you not farm repair powder? It is one of the drops of vagrants
Vagrants are extremely rare, I don't think you can "farm" them.
I've played through DS1 probably... 10 times? Never seen a vagrant.
Do you even know what a vagrant is?
@agustinmora7860 I know there's a Story about them.
@@chrislevack405 I was talking about the original comment, because you CAN'T farm vagrants since they're so RNG dependant (and online dependant too)
I want to enter the challenge run community, and i completed one for elden ring but im struggling with editing and idk what to do
LESSGOOO. Bro cooked yet again
Ah, my favourite game. Dark Remastered
