A Singer 911 is like a Patek Phillipe 5303R-001: sure, an Apple Watch is far more accurate, is easier to read and does far, far more...but that is not the point. I may be a heretic, but this video has me wondering how amazing a 250 hp, narrow body, skinnier tired version of this car would be. Lower the speed/fun threshold, lower the grip, but not degrade the handling. It may not be the sexiest and headline catching spec, but it would be definitely more exploitable in ordinary life and ordinary speeds, and that.... makes it an everyday lovefest in my mind.

Likewise. Unless the original powertrain is truly too far gone to be repaired or restored, use the original engine that was intended for the vehicle (or a comparable engine, as Singer uses).
A very good clip and review but please work out fulcrums and levers. The weight out the back is not acting as a lever. The engine acts as a load, producing leverage around the fulcrum. Great photography and sound recording.
The trim on the interior is sublime! The seat, the door panels, everything is gorgeous! It's as extreme as a Pagani, just with some teutonic sensibility.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party and Greta FFF Inc. gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more....:-((

This is absolute truth..for the past decade or so if someone brings up the cliche'question of "whats the first thing you'd do if you won a powerball jackpot?" My answer always baffles everyone, and here's what I say: "first thing I'd do is go find an old 70's-80's aircooled Porsche 911 in good driving condtion, but not pristine condition" Then when the incredulous looks and "why would you do that when you can literally have any car you want?" die down a bit I follow up with "then I'd drive it straight from Texas to the front door of Singer". Of course most people have no idea what I'm talking about, not even so called car guys...but I read an article about a Singer in some car mag about 10-12 years ago and have been hooked ever since. I don't even know if Singer takes walk in customers, but I'd make them tell me no in person. I would truly rather have a car like in this video than any new Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti...even a current 911 GT3. Simply gorgeous and an experience like no other.

I love that there are now 'normal' Singers. Haha. I'd be thrilled with anything they considered normal.
A Singer 911 is like a Patek Phillipe 5303R-001: sure, an Apple Watch is far more accurate, is easier to read and does far, far more...but that is not the point. Function vs the highest form of art, combined with tiny, subtle hints of engineering perfection and absolute fanaticism to the smallest details.
I love how most of the car lovers are also watch lovers!
A Singer 911 is more like a Patrimony moon phase retrograde date Collection Excellence yet you don't find the 2460 R31L/1 inside. Instead, there is a fake GS Spring drive :)
I thought it was Datograph.
Brilliant journalist..capturing the true engineering and feel of the car, not just focusing on the "numbers!"
"The numbers, Mason. What do they mean?"
The only time I can think of in my life that a car has made me emotional, truly an astonishing work of art!
Well done and described, Ollie! You truly put us into the car (your experience). You communicated the joy and the thrill magnificently...Though I relish my G-model (and am excited to get back into it again!), I LOVE that they modeled it after the "long hood" generation. So retro and so modern. Sexy as ________!!! Superbly executed, Singer!! Thank you!
It almost never happens….but I have bloody tears in my eyes, just by lookin at it and listening to it. I would die if drove it.
This everyday. I can't imagine wanting any car more than this. An absolutely flawless aesthetic, and by the sounds of it, an incredible piece of engineering.
@unknown 2k22 GTFO with your cancer BS.
@unknown 2k22 Sure buddy, go see a doctor. Religions are not real, only science.
The sound of that car is the best in car history. It can be so addictive.
lexus lfa ???
no farting exhaust just screaming mechanicals
Carrera GT V10 Sound? I think it's hard to beat.
@@teteakhiangte6015 lfa v10 is the best and nothing will ever come close to that but that came with an automatic . But the overall experience in this dls will be magnificent because it revs to 10k and most importantly, has a manual.
@@thehumanoid6543 The solution: The Carrera GT. V10 symphony + Manual gearbox
One word: masterpiece! 👌😉
Singer just produced my dream and only car that I want , all the respect to this amazing company , the future looks bright and for sure we will hear more of them ! 👏❤️
It's so refreshing to see positive comment after positive comment and why shouldn't there be - absolutely stunning piece of engineering, a true work of art ......... that can be driven too. If you were ever going to own one car for the rest of your life, this would be it
Now, I hate everyone who restomods a 911 with an electric power unit...
Likewise. Unless the original powertrain is truly too far gone to be repaired or restored, use the original engine that was intended for the vehicle (or a comparable engine, as Singer uses).
Lol
A very good clip and review but please work out fulcrums and levers. The weight out the back is not acting as a lever. The engine acts as a load, producing leverage around the fulcrum.
Great photography and sound recording.
The trim on the interior is sublime! The seat, the door panels, everything is gorgeous! It's as extreme as a Pagani, just with some teutonic sensibility.
Echoed James May’s sentiment about it being a love letter to old Porsches in that one TG episode.
Volume up for this one 👆👆👆 Is the DLS project worth the extra $$$, or would you take the standard Singer and pocket the change?
Nobody cares if it's not for the trio.
🤘🤘🤘🤘
"Standard Singer" 😂
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at peak car. Please collect your hopes and dreams - all journeys end here..."
That's just gone top of my lottery win list! And at Llandow too, I love Llandow!
For me, its a Singer and and ICON.
WONDERFUL Review!!!! Only one complaint. A 911 does not make "noise." That engine sound, my friends, is MUSIC!
So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more....:-((
Didn't Chris Harris help develop this? Get him to do the video...
This guy did a good job. Cut the other TopGear journalists some slack. All the brand gets nowadays is shit.
Conflict of interest ; )
@@mk2nathan Not saying this guy isn't good. Just saying, Chris harris probably has a lot more to say and offer on this car- Im fairly certain he helped with the development. Wouldve made more sense to have him.
@@Userh211 coud be that they're holding the review with Chris for the TV show
Chris did a small amount of development driving but Marino Franchitti was the chief development driver I think.
Steering Wheel should be always round 😑
.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the pinnacle of ICE motoring.
This is THE grail car for me! Like, this exact spec. Maybe tweak the interior colors or something, but that exterior green and those wheels are just gorgeous!
1846 Comments until now. 23K likes. Ok, let's buy it, all together. Since it's a daily driver, we can drive it for a day, each one of us.
I mean, 2 mil / 25k people, it's 80 per person... but we will have a fight about who's gonna drive it first.. cause I can't wait for 24000 days :P
Ok, I found the solution... 3 drivers per day.. no, it's still too many days for the car to last and for us to wait... 😥
Dear Top Gear please give us more of this amazing car reviewer ... I absolutely love this car and his review gave it the justice it deserves
I know that not everyone can live by the mantra "everything is important", but I am so very glad that Singer does. This is a absolute masterpiece.
What an amazing & gorgeous thing. It will be interesting when someday, someone will build a Dickinson as a tribute to these machines.
I've just been Delighted!
This Singer is _Music For The Soul_
The Singer DLS and the T50.... The ultimate 2 car garage for true driving enthusiasts!
what about the 992 GT3, it's much cheaper than thoose two
Alfaholics GTA-R would also be nice 😂
@@dedyardana1224, the 992 GT3 is a great car, but it's still quite synthetic. It's too big, it's too heavy, and it has electrically-assisted steering (a major no-no for any true driver's car--just ask McLaren, Lotus, Singer, Gordon Murray Automotive, et al.). But, it's still a brilliant car at a cracking price.
As nice as the 992 GT3 is, the car is getting too large and heavy
@AAA BBB. Yes! The GTA-R needs to be in that garage along a 250 GTO and a F40
Dear Top Gear please release a video of this car just cruising those roads and nothing but engine sounds and gear changes 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
"Because it's not all about speed! Come on, how could it be!?"
This guy got the point.
As a Porsche owner this is the ultimate dream. If I won the lottery my first call would be to Singer to get on the waiting list. Absolutely incredible.
someone's perception of what a Porsche should be at 2,000,000., VS a top of the line (again, someone's perception of what an A/C Cobra should be) in the form of a 427+ A/C Cobra replica and save 1,875,000.
C'mon I need to see this with Chris Harris 😭😭😭😭
Ollie absolutely smashed it!!
@@Scuderiacarparts Yes, but Chris was involved in the development of this, and does do work for Top Gear aswell. So if there's any place for a world premiere of this vehicle it's Chris Harris on Cars. Also its "fucking annoying" when anything starts with obnoxious shouting.
Singer… How to make the perfect car! You nailed it!
Yes!
No i want to see them try an almost perfect one for like 40.000€
Regardless of the outrageous cost, the few who can afford it and things others may argue over (a new gt3 maybe faster, etc) I am glad that Rob built it.
Simply Magnificent!✌❤🙏
@10:05 Those of us old enough to remember the same quote from James May (ruclips.net/video/ihhFf-9wLHs/видео.htmlsi=42OfXSaElAuMB1Mc&t=400)
If anyone was curious about what art on wheels would look like, well here ya go… purely stunning
Art on wheels is a Pagani. Function follows design. This is form follows function taken to the extreme.
I love the outer gold bezel of the rev counter in hundreds: 13:28 beautiful detail probably only seen when the car is at rest.
That car sound is AMAZING!!!
yes it just is!
2 million? BULLCRAP. 50k for the original car. 1.95 million in mechanics? Lol
It can't be so difficult to say PorschE.
After all these years...they still don't know how to pronounce it properly.
At last a Top Gear presenter in Ollie Marriage that can relay the passion and excitement of a stunning driver's car without murdering the english language - take note Jack Rix....scrub that - dump Jack Rix and replace him from now on with Ollie
"I really don't have any words for this engine... Astonishing, wild, angry" 😆
I like this Journo first time I've seen him
This might be the best film Top Gear has ever produced. I have been reading Ollie’s pieces since 2012; and never thought you’d have such a masterful on screen presence. Bravo. More please!
Porsche are you paying attention? License this. Make these. Let the next generation experience the true soul of Porsche before ICE dies.
Those seats sit really low in that car, or is it just me? I have a 993 and I'm 6'0 and my shoulder is over the window, his shoulder is so low down the door, looks like he's in a Vette or Ferrari.
What a great review! Love Singers, and the DLS is the ultimate. If only we could all have just 1 hour with one😢
Dream car for me, take it over any Buggati or Ferrari
That interior needed some more love, what a beautiful interior
500bhp and £2m? Stupid. Why would you buy it? Look at what you could buy for £2m.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of metal I've ever seen.
Up until now, I'd always thought the RUF CTR Anniversary was the ultimate modern day "classic" 911, but this appears to beat that hands down!
@Dominick Driver was better than car.
This beats Porsche itself
@Dominick Yeah, I've seen that, many times! The CTR Anniversary is a modern version of that car, no expense spared, they released in 2017. They only made 50, with a starting price of £900k. They're worth much more than that now.
I’ve been waiting for videos of this masterpiece since they first revealed it. I’d have this over any modern hypercar. Everything about it is perfect. And that sound.
Anyone with money can buy a modern supercar, but only people with class buy something like this.
"It's PORSCHE-AH!"

Here we go…Porsche pronunciation police. Let’s not pay attention to him praise the car for over 16 minutes straight, describing in detail the feel of the car and how it sounds and makes you feel. Let’s ignore his obvious enthusiasm for it. No, let’s pay particular attention on how he says Porsche…🙄
I think I’m going to start saying it the way he says it at car get togethers just so I can weed out the ass hats from the people I actually want to spend time with.
The Porsche crest on the center caps on my car point decidedly AWAY from the valve stems. That’s just for you guys. Have fun wigging out. 😄
