● During the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed we've filmed the new Singer DLS Turbo; a stunning Porsche 934/5 reimagined for modern times. Based on 964-generation 911s, the car boasts a carbon-fiber widebody, a 700-hp twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six, and a manual gearbox.

Singer hits that "old car designs were the future" aesthetic perfectly.
I'm not from that generation, but I agree with many people who remembered "when 80s was the future" (during actual 80s).2023 isn't like 2015 in movies, but we can imagine DLS Turbo as the future model year 2023 car at 70s or 80s
Its a pig. Far too wide
No it doesn’t bro GTFO
Looks like it’s giving birth to a baby Porsche from the rear
It's a more ugly design. The car looks like it is assembled of two cars of different size ... 🤭
😍 Those wheels are sick too
Inspired or probably the same BBS wheels that were on the 935 K3
I recognize them from forza
these are in my opinion the most beautiful wheels ive seen in a long time. they are unbelievably beautiful. id buy the car just for the wheels alone.
They're covers. Not the actual wheels.
@@ezacher4634 nope, wheels
RWB got all the rough edges polished and fender flare bolts frenched over.
Love it.
Exactly my thoughts with that wing. Looks more at home at Idlers than at Goodwood
This car is gorgeous. It belongs at Goodwood.
Those rims are *amazing!*
The rear end is so wide that from the front, it looks like it's towing a trailer! 😆
Agree.
A real work of art...and good on the ear too!!
Just contemplating how many bank jobs I need to pull off so I can place my order 😇
They went above and beyond. Craftsmanship 2nd to none.
❤ I love that Porsche sound and that is a dream car to have and keep up the good work that you do with those Porsches. It is so sweet of that sound
First-time mixed feelings.
I once saw the original one. It was perfect.
I think I agree! This one doesn't quite seem to gel fully. To me it seems the front end isnt wide and brutal enough to match the rear.
They probably should've gone all the way and put a more 935 looking front on it, instead of keeping the front headlights.
The rear is way too wide looks kind of clown.
These Singers are amazing. We have two on our load right how and have hauled three more already. Works of art and worth every penny!
1:52 You can see the rear wheels from the front... 😳
The sound in the non turbo DLS sounds so much better than with the muffled turbos.
Air cooled as well is the turbo air or liquid cooled,I’m guessing the latter?
It looks nothing like a 959.
The problem I have with the car world. Is they make these amazing cars. Where only 1% can own it feels. Is this car worth 2 million?
ok i think i have a new dreamcar :D
Didnt know Porsche had a dually
Took them 35 years to recreate the 935 RSR (Now with low RCS Inlets).
I think the design and craftsmanship is amazing, but i don't understand why they don't just match the short tail version so the whole rear is lined up, would be a lot more striking, and something with the sound is horribly off, has to be the raspiest 911 turbo i've heard in ages, it sounds like a hot rodded Chevy Cruze.
Not holding any Punches Singer is too great of a brand to have issues like this.
Can’t believe that nobody really nail it whit the original model that this car pay tribute. Google Porsche 934/5
very nice, doesn't look particularly fast though.
It looks like a CTR Yellowbird and a 935 had a baby
it sounds like a 962C & a 911 RSR 2017 mated
it's classic & modern at the same time.
It is absolutely MAD.
Looks like a frog
@@rjac001ahh yes frog is the baby of a 935 and ctr yellowbord yipee
Sounds more like a 3.0 rsr if you've ever had the pleasure of being hit in the chest by the baritone boom of one when they were being driven in real anger
Mid 80's 935 RSR all the way.
It doesn't sound like either of those it sounds wack. Singer can and should do better, on plus side its probably a simple most rasp issues are, and the core issue of if the engine itself can make great sounds isn't a problem, something is just really off here.
I’ve noticed a lot of people think Singer made it look weird when they got design cues from the 1970s 935/5. This car looks amazing and a great tribute. People say it’s a Porsche in a Porsche but don’t have to look to far that it’s a styling they do the 911 GT1 looks like a car inside a car. Even the 918 looks like that too.
Exactly. Soo many people in the comments just don't get it. Either they must be REALLY old or Mopar heads to the point they don't love cars. I'd love to see this car in a Rothmans livery. Lmao!!!!!
@@kevincollins8620 The Rothman livery has crossed my mind until you said something. That would be awesome!
The ones who know, appreciate the design.. 935 is one of my favourite race cars, also the gt1.. it think this would lok even beter if they made the front end a bit wider.. but anyway it looks brutal
@@kevincollins8620 I guess being 49 I’m not REALLY old but also not super young either, not in to mopar either, I do really like what Singer does and very much appreciate all the likely thousands of hours that have gone into this, but at a few angles it does look very off to me, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and is entirely subjective 👍🏻
@@kevincollins8620The 935’s never ran in the Rothmans livery, the 956, 962, and the Dakar 911’s and 959 did. Rothmans sponsored Porsche from 1982 until 1987, that’s after the 935 era.
One of my favourite cars right now. Absolutely perfect. Especially with that huge wing. Hips don't lie peeps! ❤❤
Really wow i think that wing is awful
I agree 💯 percent!!!
She is so SEXY❤❤❤❤❤
I like the duck tail
@msk3905 ever seen the 935 "Moby Dick" race car? This is an excellent tribute to that iconic machine! ❤
@@longsleevethong1457 Duck bill
Looks kinda weird something about the proportions 🫣
The Backend looks like a Porche inside a Porche... Looks odd
That how classic 935 look - and fun fact also the i8 funny enough
@@bavariancarenthusiast2722not only tha classic but the 2019 one too, you can cleary see the gt2rs under there
Give me 959 feels
Reminiscent of the 959
It's not pretty .
Now that’s one serious piece of machinery. Probably my favourite new car right now. Thinking they need to do a flat nose version for the full 935 look
Holy crap that'd be amazing
Gt4 engine
I love this comment. You make me stoked.
People don’t realize what a Porsche 935 turbo is and that it is one of the baddest cars ever made. This singer is a tribute.
An amazing tribute to the iconic "Moby Dick"
@@Zascar_88Moby Dick has a longer tail, thats more like the regular 935
It’s doesn’t look like the 935/78 “Moby Dick” it looks more like the Kremer 935 K3 or the 935/76. What it really needs is a flat nose.
No, this is a Porsche 934/5 tribute
honestly, it's a car beyond words
Really loved the optional big rear wing that come and go haha
thought I needed glasses, good catch
Actually 3 cars two gold one orange 😅
3:31 now you see it, now you don't
Not one of Singers best
DLS is their best imo, perfect balance design and function. This car looks like a Porsche with forza aero slapped on it
That is one stunning porche 👍🏻🏴🙏🏻
It sounds like a wet fart at idle and a kazoo on throttle. Naturally aspirated Singers sound so much better. Oh, wait. All 911 turbos sound terrible next to their naturally aspirated kin.
That’s just your opinion. I like the old Mezger turbo engine sounds more than todays modern 911 GT3s.
Its perfect the wing, the wideness the wheels. 1.8M is pretty steep but yea Singer is in elite territory
Don't worry there will be guys lining up to buy
@@daryl9799 i wouldnt be shocked if theyre all spoken for lol
@@noiisserpmii For sure alot rich people out there
Looks odd, sounds worse. No turbo vehicles should be straight piped, just sounds like a tractor. First Singer I’m disappointed with. No matter, I can’t afford it anyway. Someone with poor taste and buckets of cash will buy it no doubt.
When somebody sets their football shoulder pads on the back of your car.
They took a small and light 911, and turned it into something gigantically wide and really dumb.
It even looks dumb. Like a lego version of a car, made from standard parts. An ugly conglomeration of 60s design, and 21st century engineering.
If they needed a track that stupidly wide, why not start with a modern 911 widebody shell, and try to make THAT light?
And if they just wanted it light, why not start with the old '72 RSR bodyshell, and remake it entirely in carbon fibre?
This ugly thing makes absolutely no sense to me: It has all the disadvantages of an old 911, and all the disadvantages of a new 911, but without the advantages of either of them!
Do Not Like: 2/10!
The 2 is for effort.
I love Singer and their builds, but something is off with this cars dimensions🤔 rear is too wide or front not wide enough etc...when watching it come on from the front it reminds me of a trike motorcycle
This DLS Turbo is cartoonish. I much prefer the Gunther Werks Tornado and the Canepa 959 SC.
Still sounds NA kinda
Well they are medium size twin turbos. So it probably spools fairly quick. And it says "straight piped" but I see two big ass white mufflers lol.. Am I missing something?
@@TTime685 yes me too lol, can only imagine how loud it would be without the mufflers
Guntherwerks 993 all day everyday for me boys... Singer Turbo just seems too freakishly unbalanced.
Rich Peeps RWB
It looks horrible! Parts of it are ok, and then parts of it are beyond comical. It’s ridiculous!! All these years Singer really focused on subtle body changes. ( I never liked the interior.. and leather in the engine bay?? Wth. I would have had carbon covers for the engine bay, over some super dynamat. The rear fenders and the wing looks like something from a Matchbox car or a Japanese anime show. It wants to copy the GT1, and add in some BMW bat mobile wing and rear haunces. Why not try to more copy the fat fenders of the 993 TT with a subtle GT1 rear.. idk…, I see sales of this to drop off once they stop making the old 964, 4.0 liter car… 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ .. oh well. I’m really more of a fan of what Guntherworks and Russel Built is doing. TJ has made an INSANE suspension, arms, shocks, spindles, axle bearings for the 4WD shafts… and the full carbon chassis of Guntherworks.. and their upcoming e30 carbon project.., I see those 2 companies really going in some amazing directions.. now that Singer won’t be making the old cars.., and , well.. I don’t see sales for this being as strong .. I’m sure it cost more too. Just moved into a new facility… 5 year wait list, or more. People want to BUY cars…not wait
RWB asking for his wheel spacers back from the rear axles... I am torn, I like the rear glass intakes, rims design (not size) hybrid mesh and cooling edges, both fenders front and rear openings, bumper treatment, but like others, the the rear scaling seems odd when viewed on a screen @ certain angles... I am sure it will be a hit, hope we can all see them in the wild in motion.
Turbo 700 horsepower
2 models, comes in low downforce public roads and high speed track.
Total track car.I would only drive this on the road with a roll cage,
WTF: $1.8 million dollars. That puts it in the league of hyper car.contention and plenty of better cars at that range. only extremely wealthy people would throw that amount at a car like this.
It looks just amazing. The only downside on my opinion is how freaking *massive* the rear is. You can see the rear wing from the front. That's a bit too wide in the rear for me. But overall it's an amazing car.
I love Singer but this one is just way over the top. From behind it looks like the have glued a body kit on top. From the front the offset looks ridiculous.
Not sure why they showcase these cars. They have a closed circle of customers that only they have access too. These cars are sold out before they even go into production.
no thanks, the difference front to back looks too monstrous, more like a failed prop car of a low quality movie
Car looks really odd.
from the back it has a training wheels vibe. strange looking. sounds great though.
I'd still go for Gunther!
1. a beast from the front
2. great from the side(s)
3. horrible from the rear - a disaster in design
Well, there's a first for everything... i never thought a day will come in which i was going to feel compelled to comment negatively on a Singer, but here we are: IMHO, back proportions should have been a bit less 935-ish... specially at the top of air intakes; at certain angles the car looks like a 930 Turbo hauling a Roman Chariot. Make the lines at the top of air intakes flow a bit more naturally (rounder) and the whole rear of the car at least 6 inches narrower, and the thing would've been perfect.
Was für eine hässliche Kiste wie viel kostet der über 3 Millionen und der Klang ist auch bescheuert😢😢😢😢 never ever 2:42
how many million for the car?
I find it way out of proportions...it looks like a trike because the rear is way too wide.
The Front is different. Did they had to change the front during the WE?
It looks great stationery but has awful road presence
I'm normally impervious to the notion of robbing a bank just to finance an expensive toy, but the red version at 0:55 has me feeling more flexible on the issue...
Mixed feelings about this one. That wing looks like it belongs at the annual Idlers meet instead of having a Singer badge on it.
poor tail design. The design of the car and the design of the aero are disjointed.
70s 935 widebody throwback style with a resto-mod take. Excellent...loving the color too❤❤❤
I appreciate the effort but man does that thing look goofy
Die Kiste sieht aus als hätte man einen Breitbau über einen alten 911 SC gebaut😂😂😂😂 5:26
Looks stupid. But who cares if it is effective on track.
it looks like another porsche is inside the car from the back ...... i love it ....
That's the way that the 935 was built. This is a modern interpretation of the 935.
Rear axle wider than the front.. makes it look like a frog.
Maybe its the footage itself, but the car could use a detail on the paintwork. To go all this way and not make the paint flawless, seems a bit weird.
Nah . Overdone it . Good concept but rear is a cockup
A Porsche wearing clown shoes, it looks ridiculous
Not a fan of this car; I think this car looks terrible!
American V8’s still sound better.
Dont especially love it but it's ok design 🤔
All show and not much go ☝️
So sick wings a little much but love the over fender rear look
Wow ...... Sounds op ...... # singer dls turbo ..3:19 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
🇲🇨Carrera GT or New SINGER🤔🤔
Looks like a little kid wearing his dad's clothes
Even James Bond would like this car
Looks like something straight out of a Khyzyl Saleem render.
I love basically every single Singer Porsche but my god is this ugly. This is like a 1980's Gemballa clone you wanna drive in Miami
I want to like it but that rear end is just embarrassingly comical. WAAAAAAY too wide in comparison to the front and just like the I8 looks like it's giving birth to a 911, this thing looks like it's giving birth to a miniature 911, which is such a shame because the rest of it is stunning.
this version totally lost his "Porscheness"
It just looks like an older dually pick up truck when they just used to tack big rear fenders over the dual tire rear end without blending the body lines. From the rear it looks ok and from the side but the front angle just looks like an older air cooled 911 with a dually rear end. I'm not sure about this one yet. I love Singer cars though.
those wheels are sick!
The back reminds me when I put the cart inside another cart at Walmart
at porsche, we have to ask ourselves questions about the future and the path to take. to meditate in front of this concentration of incredible talent!!!💚💛❤
I think if is amazing to see that Singer is able to get away with this.
Basically they are building Porsches. Which only Porsche itself is allowed to do.
We are not talking some vehicle modding here, but marketing a Porsche!
Now THAT is one incredibly mean looking (and sounding!) Porsche 911! What an odd choice for the back end to be so obviously just a bolted on wide arch kit? Theres literally no blending in of the original to the boxed, wide arches? In one way it looks really, really bad, like it was a very last minute addition when the builders realised that the tyres werent wide enough to cope with that 700bhp? In another i kinda LOVE the fact that you can see the original car lurking underneath all that fibreglass/carbon fibre? So very strange and odd looking but at the same time very Group B Metro 6R4 (although even THAT monster was better integrated!)
Looks really nice sitting still at the right angles. But watching it on the track..seems the rear is too wide, or the front not enough? Still beautiful, just, not sure??
I don't know ??? It's a little from this a little from that ???. Can't get used to the back. Try to bigger, wider the originel porsche part a little. Maybee ??❤
Looks like a fun project & belongs right where the video shows...on a track, but I'm not a fan of the extreme caricature 911s. Those wheels, although beautiful, look goofey at that size. Sounds fantastic but doesn't sound like Porsche from any era. Not my cup of tea.
The Droop Snoots were the best looking 911s,what’s the film where the guy ends up in one with his face covered in Cocaine I think it’s Elmore Leonard’s Get Shorty with Danny Devito and John Travolta?
Ugh, Singer missed; it looks like a car inside a car. Awful sounding too! Did you see the "regular" 911 come up behind it on the track. Now that is STILL beautiful.
Like 👍 ❤ …Porsche
Finally ! - a Porsche trike.
Ain’t gonna lie kinda weird looking specially the back, some dude in the comment said a singer shitting a Porsche 😂😂😂😂😂 perfectly described it
Sounds amazing, looks rediculous with those wheels and large spoiler. The red model looks much better IMO.
That is one of the most beautiful Porsches I have ever seen. However, I hate the sound of this car, especially at idle. Wish it had more of the deep straight six growl with turbo whistle like the original 930/935 series.
Some people can’t accept reality when the backend of the car looks shite💩 b’coz it does look shite💩, but they have to say it’s amazing. They could have done more of a flattering design job instead of making it look like an ugly fat wrench in a nightclub.
It sounds to angry for my taste ❕😜
Like an old racecar.
To make a show like on the Goodwood festival of speed, it's nice... but for use it to have fun, it's to much 😅
