  • This is something special to look back on - Deep Purples' Roger Glover & Ian Paice on The New Music show in 1984. They discuss the band, music videos and were it is all heading ....Its incredible to look how Deep Purple perceived the age of the music video concept and how the bands reunion had progressed to date. Living breathing working and progressing musicians according to Roger Glover!
The clip also feature live concert material from the bands final show of the USA tour at the TEXAS JAM.
Much TV was launched in Canada in 1984 and the program 'The NewMusic' was a weekly music and culture television newsmagazine that aired on the Canadian television station. the concept was to encapsulate the spirit of magazines like Rolling Stone and New Musical Express with the format of a television newsmagazine.

I was there! Best live band ever. They were headliners of the Texas jam that year. Saw the Scorpions that day too along with Night Ranger, Ted Nugent Bon Jovi and Grim Reaper.

I was there too from the first bad Victory which the sky opened up pouring rain on and they kept playing never missed a beat even with the mains cutting on and off. Approximately 80000 in attendance. I can attest that Purple had the biggest response from all in attendance due to the fact they were the only band to have everyone on their feet through the entire first 2 songs. Highway Star and strange kind of woman. Truly a memory of a lifetime. They were my favorite band for years and we never thought that mk 2 would reunite so it was quite a surprise and blessing. Also saw Gillian the year before in Corpus Christi on the Born Agian tour in which he sang also very well. He really pulled off child im time quite well at Texxas Jam and in1994 november at super rare Johhnyland very early morse show. Texxas jam was awesome with Deep Purple headlining their last concert from this tour and with 80000 in attendance and all recorded on video needs to be fully released. If so you would hear me yell in a quiet moment of child in time which i did om purpose knowing the song well hopeing it would be released someday so I can hear my yell in child in time texxas jam 85. Release that concert please!

And those stupid critics who called them "old" when their average age was 42 - they're now old themselves!

This cannot be 1984. The show was August 24th, 1985. The only 1984 dates were down your way. Are you gonna start getting these obvious history things right?
