DP Mk 2 was very good the first time, but by the reunion, they were a well oiled machine at the top of their game. We had all been in garage bands, had done local gigs and had seen many major concerts by this time, but it was so loud that I almost couldn't make out the song at times (in spite of being the huge Purple fan that I was). But the show was fantastic - no special effects, just awesome individual musicianship, super tigjht ensemble playing and great songs. Looks a bit sad when you get older unless you're Billy Connolly who wears it well...just my opinion.
@Chief Big Bob That´s quite bizarre... So only young people look good with long hair? What is so wrong about white hair, that it must be short??
Nothing have never, ever made med happier than the day I got the message that Purple are going back together again, rumors had been flowing around for some time, but when rumors became reality, impossible to describe what I actually felt. I have seen Rainbow, but this line up; Blackmore, Gillan, Lord, Paice and Glover, musically impossible to top that. Ok, Zeppelin were good as well, but Deep Purple, the Best band EVER!!!!!!! MK III were good, but MK II - BEST of the BEST!!!!!
Saw this perfect strangers u.s tour K- zoo. Blew my mind.
"You don't think you're a bit old for all this ?"......
John Lord "well i'm only 76 and feel I can go on into my tenth decade"
Sounds well, but Jon was about 43 there?
Ok, saw it now and finally got it, a little exaggerated... :)
19:52 When the interviewer says "their Perfect Strangers album has gone Platinum in Canada & the U.S." back then that meant 1 million records in the US & 500.000 in Canada. The "New Music Magazine" interviewer is Daniel Richler the step son of famed Canadian writer Mordecai Richler.
Purple we're in t for the money, they were before the split, but when they got back together, it was for the music and nothing else, know what I mean, and I've been a fan and supporter of Depp Purple since 1968
I saw them on this tour...they were great!
Perfect.....
GILLAN!
