Love this part of the world, thanks for sharing. Yep, shallow crossing is tidal and the tidal limit is 1 or 2 KMs upstream near the Berry farm. I've nearly been washed off that crossing on a bike a couple of times.
Looks like an excellent couple of days in the bush. Yalwal State Forest is another one worth visiting south of Sydney - although the tracks are a little more challenging.
What a great area to ride Brent. A great mix of riding and a great practical campsite. Can’t beat a sausage in bread around the fire with beer . Another great edited video as usual. I know we have had some previous disagreement over gps referencing and emergency services, but I must say you make good videos and I appreciate the effort in putting them together and you also sharing the gpx files of your trips. Mick
Great video Brent, really showcases how great the South Coast is for adventure riding. You had great weather for it to, no dust and not wet enough to turn some sections into an ice skating rink. Glad you liked the trails, we sure had fun putting it together. From Huskisson to Boydtown is the only area I've ridden over the last 12 months, done about 4000kms of riding and I'm still not bored of the area.
Hey Andrew Congrats on putting together a great ride. I LOVED riding those tracks and will have to go further South to try out those tracks as well. I saw that you caught up with. I I on the KTM rally. We should do another ride again sometime. It’s been way too long 👍
Great work camera work as usual. Some great memories there for me. I did the 2024 Husky Trek but had a minor off the 2nd day resulting in strained knee ligaments. I wasn't able to ride the 3rd & 4th days unfortunately, but inhaled enough anti-inflammatories to ride the last day. I'll definitely be heading back down there from Qld again for another crack.

Another great video Brent! The Skydio 2 and your aerial shots make the story so much more interesting and variety of shots... I wish i would have bought one when they still were available. All my video is just helmet cam and it is just not as interesting watching the same angle all the time.

A man who rocks those is dangerous 😂🙌🏻 I like the new Sound from the bikes, but hos much extra work is it to set it up? how fast does the mic reconnect when you turn the camera on and of? do you need the mic to be on the whole trip?
Hey Thomas Thanks for your note. Yes, we are very lucky in Australia… so much amazing adv riding. Come on down. Almost no extra work with the new setup. I strap a radio mic to the rear rack in the morning as I’m loading my bike. Turn the transmitter on as I put my key in the ignition…. And that’s it. Nothing else. I get 6 hours on the transmitter battery. So I just button on and off on the camera as I ride. Synch is about 0.25 sec. That’s it !
I'm not sure which river crossing you were referring to, I'm assuming you meant Shallow Crossing. It was deep, but I wasn't too concerned, we all rode slowly so we didn't create a bow wave, and the air filter on our bikes is right up high. On the 701 it is up near the top of the triple clamps

Great video. I'm sure that you could have easily made this into a 3 part series of 1 hour videos without anyone getting bored watching! Those were some big days on the bike in some challenging terrain! Actually some of the most challenging terrain on the great dividing range! Welcome to my backyard! It has everything from hard enduro to fast flowing dirt, twisty tar, lots of creek and river crossings, lookouts everywhere and best of all its relatively empty most of the time. Just have to be aware that there is some trending 4x4 routes around here that attract lots of people who love to fang around with abandon. Some of that single trail is actually a gazetted road haha.
@brentbat Day one is my local loop basically. There are some variations and more fun part that were missing, but the majority of it was there. Day 2, I was ment to do that loop last weekend but missed out. Haven't been on Moruya FT yet. Not sure Im ready to put 250kgs of bike through there yet. Buckenbowra camp is about 2 clicks to the south of the Offroad academy. We rode a couple of loops from there last year and did that long steep exit creek crossing, but we needed to carve a long arc to the far left to avoid a very deep hole that is in a direct line from entry to exit. The rocks must have move from the big rain we had a few months ago. Looks like the same thing has happened to the bolders on the creek crossing on Hawthorne road. The best part is, as much of the great riding you did on this trip, there are many more variations you can make to cover similar ground and keep it interesting.

Great ride, Duea NP is a great place to ride. Not far from home...HD put your luggage in a big dry bag....as tieing singular items on the bike means you will loose some of it.

I've found my 701 to be very reliable so far (touch wood). The only adventure where I have had an issue is a cracked radiator. I could have kept going with a bit of JB Weld, but decided not to risk it through the HIgh Country. But I've done a lot of adventures on that bike and so far.... it's been really great and reliable.

Hey Davey I hear you.... I do ride left generally, or if I'm over to the right, it's because somebody is riding up ahead and is on Sena so we know if traffic is coming. You'll often see me pull behind the rider in blind corners where we don't have somebody up front. But I agree with you.

I have always felt 1920x1080 is high enough quality. I do shoot in 4K. I’m going out for a 2-day ride this weekend, perhaps I’ll do the edit in 4K to compare.
We didn't need extra fuel, we would fill up at either Milton, Moruya or Batemans Bay. HD has a 15L tank on his 501, and both 701s have extra tanks on them. But I could have done that ride on the standard internal tank of my 701.
Hey Brent, when we talked in Feb last year, you told me you were hoping to work on the quality of the map graphics in your videos. What SW or tool are you using to generate your map graphics now? (Looks great BTW!)
Great video guys. It would appear the Hipcamp you stayed at have increased their rates since your stay from $15 each to $60 each a night. Just a subtle bit of profiteering. 😒
15kg of crap off his bike... that would be a handful. I notice when I have an extra 5kg, and any more than 10 extra kg becomes a battle! what you should probably do is let him carry all of that stuff next time... so he decides he would rather travel in groups and "share" equipment carrying duties. because 4 people don't need 4 cookers, and 2x 3man tents could be much better use of space than 4x 2man tents.

I use a pretty high end package called Geolayers 3, but it’s not for the faint hearted. It runs in After Effects. 😱

I use Gaia GPS for planning, and now I'm using a tablet (Carpe Iter) and DMD2 for navigation.
do you use an active track on drone for follow shots ?
We have 2 types of drones with us. Skydio is autonomous and follows us from any angle. DJI is flown manually.

15kg of crap off his bike... that would be a handful. I notice when I have an extra 5kg, and any more than 10 extra kg becomes a battle!
what you should probably do is let him carry all of that stuff next time... so he decides he would rather travel in groups and "share" equipment carrying duties. because 4 people don't need 4 cookers, and 2x 3man tents could be much better use of space than 4x 2man tents.
