- I have a new adventure bike, and this is it's first adventure. A stunning 3-day ride around Sydney. It was beautiful, challenging, and fun.

Don't forget, this does take you through a couple of hundred meters of private property at the top of Commission Rd.
Always love your videos Brent, and this time there is the extra bonus of really suitable music all the way through - you nailed it 🕊
One of your best videos yet Brent. An inspiration to us fellow adventure motorcyclists. Looking forward to the next one. 👍
Brent, thanks for a fantastic film and for generously sharing your GPX. Can't wait to check out beyond Bylong (Food Bowl, not a Coal Hole!). Sydney's surrounds are next level and we're so lucky. You've got me all psyched up for this weekend up Putty way with my son and his mates. They're doing a MX training weekend, so I'm getting the DR650 out and going bush :))
Nice One Brent , Great Purchase. 901 very capable bike offroad. Hope ur well 👍
Beautiful video. 11/10
Your channel is a breath of fresh air. Thank you!
As always, it's a great video with amazing production quality.
Another fabulous, professional-level episode! Have a blast on the 901.
What a video. ‘The Town That Built Sydney’ surrounded by Awesome geology throughout the entire trip, absolutely loved it mate. Thanks!
WOW! That second day looked INCREDIBLE!
Visually stunning. Some quality riding and friends, well done.
Sunny corner It's definitely one of my favourite places to ride. On the much smaller 300 two strokes. Some stunning scenery we really are so lucky living here in Sydney and having such spectacular places to ride all within 3 days reach. Great video thoroughly enjoyed the drone footage.
Nice one, the DRZ needs to put his carby breather hoses into the air box so they don’t hang in the water and stall, but make sure it’s not the overflow one lol
Stunning drone shots and a proper baptism for the new Norden. Well done!
I know from experience how tedious it is to make those maps, especially the 3d ones. Thanks for the effort on those!
It's a labor of love :-)
Wow....great track in your own back yard, thanks for the GPX file appreciated. Good to see the big BMW's having a good go too....underestimated capable bikes....
Wonderful trip and so expertly filmed and produced - thank you Brent. As said in a comment on another video of yours, I've done a lot of touring in these areas on road bikes, including my Blackbird and now the little Ninja 1000, often taking my son on the back. We've also done a lot of 4wd exploration and camping around there too. It's been years since I did any off-roading on a bike but I can see the time approaching! In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the experience through your excellent videos! Cheers from Sydney - Dave
Superb Brent. Calm and informative narration and great riding. Very generous of you to share the GPX files too.
Thank you for sharing your inspiring adventure. Love the foggy footage. Appreciate the commentary and showing us some hidden gems right around the corner. Gotta get a grippy front tyre ....
Magnificent video once again! Congratulations on the new machine, Brent. It looks like it would be delightful to ride.
Mazal Tov Brent :) The 901 is truly the most handsome adventure
Amazing view, cool trip, excellent production
Sublime footage Brent! I'm so impressed that you have this level of beautiful double track so close to Sydney. Thanks for sharing this experience!
-Don
BTW...LOVE the NORDEN!
Amazing landscapes , great adventure , great bikes 👍
Yet another great adventure riding video with amazing scenery. Greetings from 🇿🇦
Another great video awesome scenery love riding thru there myself. Great episode
Ekibinizi tebrik ederim, çok zor geçişler yaptınız Türkiye' den selamlar
10 out of 10 as usual Brent, thanks for sharing. 👍
Another great video mate, great to see HD back, he does love throwing the big GSA around 👍
Looks like a great spot
Brings back memories of the few times I did the cave to cave trip in my 4wd. I will do it on a bike one day just like you guys did. Great video 🤘
Awesome video! What a great adventure. Kudos to your riding skills as well. Beautiful countryside for sure. Congrats on your new bike. She is a beauty . Best!
There was a time where I'd be waiting for a Nerb and Shadower upload - you've joined those ranks, Brent.
What a nice adventure. Very beautiful sceneries. At the beginning of the vídeo, it seems you would go through easier ways, but you went through very technical paths with big bikes. I loved it. Thank you for sharing!
That's an amazing tour mate, right in our backyard too. Beautifully done with a lot of laughs as well!! Thanks for the GPX file, I'll save that one for the near future when I get back on the bike.
Nice choice of new bike. I love the 890/901 platform. A good adventure all-rounder for Sydney-siders imo.
Excellent adventure. A bit above my pathetic abilities so was good to watch others doing it.
Hope you are one of the lucky ones who don’t get the nasty cam-wear issues on your 901.
Great to see your adventures thanks for sharing them.
This video made we want to get back to the Blue Mountains. Plenty more places to be found!
I'll hopefully be on a new bike soon.. this looks like a good maiden voyage 😎
That Genowlan track and views look awesome - not seen that before and definitely on the list now - thanks!
What an awesome trip and fantasticvideo ,have done several of those tracks in my Landcruiser . Central Tablelands is great place to explore .
You make some fantastic ADV videos! Great Job
Nice stuff Brent. Neil says Gday, just recently back from a Idaho ride with him.
Value the effort and quality Brent, thanks.
Great video, such beautiful scenery, great editing and cinematic images. The Norden is a great all round tourer that can handle some tricky terrain. I’m not such an accomplished rider but it gives me confidence where these bikes can take you. I took mine to the Flinders Ranges last year and rode the old creek beds. The Norden made me feel like I was a better rider. Looking forward to more of your Norden adventures
Thanks for sharing,,,
As always Brent a great video. Welcome to the 901 family ! They’re a great machine, very capable and I love mine. Just one thing to make sure your rear ABS cable is secured away from the rear tyre along the rear brake line using some cable ties. From factory they eventually move and come into contact with your rear tyre and wear through the cable which causes failure of the ABS/TCS system and won’t allow you to change ride modes till it’s re-spliced or the cable is replaced.
Thanks for the heads up.
This looks unreal i have downloaded the files and looking forward to riding this 😊
Great video
Great tracks, great vision!
Great film and great bike! Cograts!
Looks like an amazing ride Brent
Once again another excellent video. 😊
Great trip great video thanks for sharing
Another quality production Brent 👌
Brave on the big bikes. Those were tricky crossings
Great video. The DRZ cutting out in the water crossing will likely be the breather hoses from the carb need rerouting. Mine did the same thing. Search youtube for a video on how to do it.
Brent, I have the same bike, and used the same panniers for a while. I absolutely love this machine, and have done the Colorado BDR, lots of off-road touring around the Rocky Mountains, and a little bit of road work as well. After the BDR, I ended up selling the pannier system, and changed it for the R40 (which, with a Stinger 22 is a R58) - more than enough space for multi-day trips, better handling and clearance, and dropped something like 11-12kg. Looking forward to your adventures on the new whip!
Yeah I’ve got an R80. I might try that. Perhaps it will stop the “Postie jokes” 😁
Loved it. Will try and do it soon 😊
It’s both awe inspiring and fueling my envy how much amazing wilderness and off-road opportunities Australia has to offer, and so close to such a major city. California has great nature but it takes hours to get away from SF or LA.
I hear you. I just rented a bike in SF last weekend.... and I couldn't get to offroad tracks like we have without heading many hours out of town.
@@brentbat Unless I have at least a week off, I end up going to local OHV parks and practicing on green and blue MX trails. Not much of a nature or adventure experience but it’s practice at least. I’ll probably end up moving to either Colorado or the Pacific Northwest.
Brent.. Mate.. .. your videos are first grade.. Get together with Adam Riemann.. A blockbuster for sure. I too bought a 901.. parked the 1250 sadly.. 901 is so good.
Ha! Adam can ride. I can’t. He would be bored after 100m 😁
Wow awesome adventure.
Another awesome video!
11:44 WOW!!!
Good trip mate. 👍🏼
Great adventure.
Good video Brent 👍🏻
Thats one of your best videos! The ride was amazing also, especially that rocky gorge to the look outs! And also that river crossings, such a fantastic place! Amazing footage and editing!! I love the 901, i also have an 701 and love the 901.But i'm afraid about the cam issues and havent decided if i want to buy it!
I hear you on the cam issues. Perhaps I'm the eternal optimist, but i'm hoping the cam issues are fixed... or won't happen to me :-)
@@brentbat I hope that too, it's an amazing bike!
Great video, thanks
i'm only 29 years old and an asphalt rider, but damn i want to be part of this friendship group :)❤
Nice bike. Pity all the engines blow up with their cheesy cams.
Great video as usual!!
Nevermind, Brent. They know not the skill required to be the postie.
Awesome video. Drone videos are amazing.
I just had trouble trying to see through the dirty visor on the bike. Sorry. 😊
Great work
Beautiful video. Amazing trails and really cool seeing Australia off road action on the big bikes. Would love to hear the bikes more and not music - I think the music you picked is great and flows well with the action, just would Love to hear those bikes better. Good on ya for making this. It’s Very Cool
Hey Jeff
Actually I'm going to use a separate radio mike on my next ride mounted near the exhaust pipe to really try to capture the bike sounds better. I know people like to hear the engine and exhaust sounds.
BP
As they say, you don't have to be crazy but it helps.😱
What’s going on! No one got injured.
The best looking postie bike I have seen. That bike is gorgeous and a beast.
One question though. Have you replaced the cams yet. I’m surprised it done that 3 day journey
Nice Brent, beautiful countryside I’ve followed the same path for the last two bikes, 701e and 901 Expedition.
Two questions if I may,
1 - Did you fit alternate racks for those bags or manage to use the factory triangle ones?
2 - what did you think of the factory tyres? I’ve been surprised at how well they do in many conditions - including the gorges in the Flinders Ranges.
I put aftermarket racks on. I think that is one area where Husky dropped the ball. The standard bags and racks are crap.
Great video, and an excelent way of presentation...
And i have a question... What drone do you use ?
Or could you make a video on drones... like settings, tips and tricks,...
Asking cause skydio is no more i think...
Hey there.
Yes, Skydio is no more. I still have my Skydio which I use for Autonomous flying (although My Skyio crapped itself on this trip, so I didn't use any footage from it). We had 2 other drones with us on the trip. I had an Avata 2 and HD had the Mini 4 Pro.
I've just bought an Air 3 as well (yes, I'm a drone geek).
OK, I might see if I can do a video on drone settings, editing, grading etc. Perhaps in November.
@@brentbat yeah thanks for responding, means a lot... The first video i saw of yours was the Iceland one,. The production quality of your videos are on next level man...(i hope creating similarly showcasing the beautiful landscape of India while riding thoughout the country) And if ever my fate falls in my hand, will try to ride the international beauties and showcasing their beauty...
Yeah as i was saying could you please make a video on how you fly the drones while riding epecialy how tracking shots are so perfect... Thankyou...
@@nooplayer9742 OK.. But the beauty of the tracking shots is purely down to the autonomous capabilities of the Skydio. If you are interested to learn more about what it can do... here's one of my first tests that I ran several years ago. Only way to get a Skydio now is second hand.

@@brentbat yeah yeah i just watched it...
relocate the carb breather for the dr and no problem for water crossings 👍
Nádhera
Hey Brent, great video. Question regarding the private property at the top of commission road, is it just a number on the gate you need to call and ask the owner?
No, you need to email the owner. I've sent a note to the owner asking if it is OK for me to forward his email address on to interested riders. Drop me an email at brentbat@gmail.com and if he says yes, I'll send it on to you.
@@brentbat cheers mate done 👍
Hi Brent this is such an incredible video of this area. I have not been able to explore this area yet. Do you ever give out your gps files for the trips and in particular this one? I have watched every clip that you have done. Regards Drew
GPX files are available from the RUclips description. Enjoy.
Another great vid Brent, as always so professionally done and just makes me want to throw a leg over and ride into the distance. How are you finding the 901. I have been very tempted towards one of those.
I have been super impressed. SO comfortable... SO powerful... and SO Capable. I've got my fingers crossed that I won't hit any of the cam issues that others have hit, but unless I'm doing really technical riding like Vic High country or steep loose stuff, I think I'll be on the 901 quite a lot.
Great to see you on a "big-bike" again Brent. Next step the 1300GS Adv. The Norden certainly has that cool classic look. 👍 Saw the Skydio on the back of the Norden, but aerials were Avata2 and Mini? Did the blue bird hit a tree mate?
The Skydio shat itself on that ride. For some reason it only recorded low res videos... I'm not sure if it is a hardware or software issue, but I'm working through that with Skydio.
Meantime get the Neo 😅
@@2Meerkats Actually I think I am going to get one of those. Because it will work with my existing goggles, controller and motion controller, so the Neo is like $199 on it's own. If nothing else I can aggravate the dog at home :-)
& being under 250g it's 👍 in AU control zones - urban shots (excluding flight paths) and ✨4 LOS ops. I see it also follows from the front at low speed.
Fantastic video once again. I have the same bike. Did you do that trip on the stock Pirelli STR tyres or change them? Which tyres? Cheers
Stock tires.
The bags. Are they the Husky brand because they don’t look it. Good video 👍🏽
No, bags are mosko. The only thing Husky screwed up on that bike in my opinion was the luggage. It's garbage.
They look good on the 901. Good choice 👍🏽
Another excellent vid Brent. Thanks again for the effort. Did Craig get back on a bike?
Yes, he did a ride around Victoria with us, but then had complications with his leg and had to go back to hospital for quite some time. I'm not sure we'll see him back out on Adv bikes unfortunately. But hopefully he'll join us on some of our trips in a 4wd or something.
@@brentbat Thanks for the reply. That's a real shame. Hopefully he can still get out and enjoy it in a 4bie.
I hope Craig lives close to that crash site, otherwise it's a hell of a trip for a prank!
2 hours there, an hour or two waiting for us... and two hours back home. So 6+ hours in total. That is dedication :-)
Brent, be careful with the cam shafts on the 890/901 platform. Many are suffering from it and KTM is doing nothing about it. My 890 was sort of a lemon and I couldn't trust it in the back country. I just went back to BMW with a 1300GS
Yeah I’ve been following the cam shaft discussions. It’s a bummer because I love the 890 platform.
my 2020 790 R suffered catastrophic top end failure at 47K km, cams, head, piston, all of it.
Hi Brent i Hope the 901 will be OK just spoke to my mate 2000Km on a 901 stopped for a smoke bike wouldn't start oil bubbled out of the oil filler plug back to Ktm dealer 4 months later they put in a new Motor
Yeah, I hear you. I'm hoping it is OK... It's such a great bike. I hope it is reliable.
Also.. If you're havong any issue with wind noise around your helmet.. I made 2 deflectors.. AMAZING difference.. I can send you some photos. Dave.
I’d love to see your pics.
If your mates don't give you shit every chance possible are they even really your mates?
🍻
Love the Norton 901 how tall you I am thinking of selling my ktm690 which I had professionally lowered to get a more touring bike and light offroad bit being only 5,8 i am concerned about the height and I dont want get a bike lowered again PIA
I’m tall (6’3”)
But I’d go and have a sit on one. It is a tall bike but I don’t think it is as tall as my 701.
Bummer, I get this trying to load it into DMD2 ( Error loading tracks: Unsupported file type (GPX) )
Email me at brentbat@gmail.com and I’ll help.
Just so that others don’t imitate it assumes you had permission to fly a drone in a NSW National Park - especially a world heritage area? If not better delete as its a strict no no
Who cares …. Bloody Australian retarded rules.
Bloody stupid pollies and greens making up dumb rules. It’s advertising for our country and doesn’t hurt anyone if he had a license (bribe money paid) or not…
Go to France, Italy, Greece and any other country in Europe, they are riding around without helmets on for gods sake- not saying this is right or wrong but FREEDOM FOR GODS SAKE… and natural selection in some cases but still freedom from the nanny state Australia has become.
Hey Brent , I just got this video in my suggestions. Really loved the way you narrated from planning to ending the trip . Wanted to know if you are in Instagram so that i can follow you there as well 😊
Nope, Only on RUclips :-)
Great video
