Yeah, because not looking foolish is more important than keeping everyone alive? Everybody made it out alive in this scenario. Because of the officer's choices and actions. But hey, people just have to complain about something! So, carry on, I guess. I'm sure more sheep are behind you.

Sorry they could have stopped her. I’m sure the person that got ran into head on at 50 mph felt protected and served. They could have boxed her in well before she got onto the freeway and actually protected people. She was literally stopped on streets, not moving!!! They crashed into each other trying to get out of the way. They allowed her to crash into civilians and instead of protecting them they got out of the way. Way to go

From a local newspaper: "The pursuit began in a Venice neighborhood after a dispute escalated dramatically around 4am at 3rd and Rose Avenue. The woman, reportedly living out of her van, had been disturbing neighbors throughout the night by playing loud music, screaming, and throwing objects. Despite multiple calls to the police, the situation only intensified.
“She was up all night doing drugs, appearing to be on something, and acting erratic in the middle of the street,” a local resident said. “They could have arrested her right there.”
    This is pure LAPD incompetence.

      That’s what I’m saying!!!
It’s embarrassing yes BUT it’s not all on the officers driving. They have to get permission to do certain things to stop the suspect. It’s not like officers can do whatever they want, especially with news helicopters following the pursuit, everything has to go in order of the chain of command.
Please correct me if I’m wrong.
I just feel like they did the best they could in an extremely unpredictable situation being recorded and broadcast to the world.
And again please correct me if I’m wrong, but if any of them take action that isn’t pre-approved by their superiors then there’s a chance they could land in trouble afterwards my taking unauthorized action or something along the lines of that right?

@@gillesrenaud6926wrong. Very wrong. In situations like this they can’t do anything unauthorized my their superiors in command watching and advising from the feed in their police helicopter. That’s why they have to wait until there’s no one around to do a pit maneuver, pull back when a suspect starts to engage unless they have permission to engage back, and even in other chases where suspects crash and DONT get out of the car, they can’t rush the car and immediately get the suspect out. They have to take cover, hold the suspect at gunpoint as they repeatedly yell at them to get out of the car on their own. Then after like 5-10 minutes they shoot out the window to get better eyes in the vehicle/get suspects attention/clearer communication. THEN they slowly approach the vehicle with the lead officer carrying armor and then get the suspect out of the vehicle. They absolutely cannot do whatever they want. Especially while the news helicopter is literally capturing their every move. Obviously if the helicopter wasn’t there and they didn’t have body cameras it would be a different story. But that’s clearly not the case here.

Thanks to no-bail laws and releasing criminals when COVID hit and never going back. Gov Newsom favors criminals over law-abiding citizens.
