As you clearly see the police will run you down over graffiti. It’s the lack of prosecution and the DA asking for a lighter sentence than the defense attorney. That is the issue.
Not in California at least. They would rather make sure these criminals are treated with utmost dignity.

Can anyone explain why the police love to follow the suspect, rather than stop them when they had the opportunity at the dead end.
The same reason why Police now have more restrictions on what they can and can't do.
Used to be they can just pit maneuver the guy. Now? Try that and the police get sued.
Too many laws defending these criminals it's hard for the police to do anything. And worst part? He'll just get a slap on the wrist with probation and a small fine then back on the streets again.
Yeah, I wonder why the police didn't box him him at the dead end? Or why they didn't box him in after he struck the first vehicle. Could have prevented the 2nd collision all together.

The dog that was thrown out of the car is now being cared for by the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A.
Shelter staff said the dog is in good condition but does not have a collar nor is it microchipped. They are still searching for the canine’s owners.
Authorities said the suspect had major injuries including several broken bones in his leg. He has a criminal record including most recently, a post-release community service for a previous felony evading incident, according to CHP.

What empathy do you feel for the innocent person being struck head on? A direct result of the police failing to pit or confront the suspect with their vehicles head on? If we are gonna expect the general public to end these types of situations, then let us know so we can equip our vehicles with bumper guards and any other safety equipment we feel we may need. Yes, the poor dog should be a concern, the jerk driving cared more about th dog than people.

The older woman who was hit by the suspect's vehicle being chased by the police, she was thrown into the curb, has 5 broken ribs and other injuries. The police allowed her to walk, WALK a mile home!!!! 😮😢 she's been released from the hospital. Her daughter is already in contact with an attorney and talking about suing the police department as the officer rammed the suspects vehicle, causing it to hit the woman who was crossing in the sidewalk!!

Well that red car wouldn't have gotten hit and had the CHP stopped this vehicle at the dead end although it looks like they had plenty of opportunities to perform the pit maneuver.

The police in pursuit are the ones almost always putting the most innocent people in danger by far. Instead of 1 car doing 90, let's get a half dozen or more people going that speed and weaving in and out if traffic and blowing intersections.
It's possible this person was already wanted to something or hiding something much more illegal. Even may have been in parole and if violate it you go back to jail.

Not police chase related but a few years back there was a suicidal person on the 110/105 overpass (if my memory is correct) and all the news helicopter was zoomed in on the person when he shot him self on the head live on TV in the middle of the day. Obviously a lot of people complained and ever since then they stopped showing suicidal people on the news and started to zoom out when guns are involved.

It took the cops almost 20 minutes to secure the guy after the crash. That's way too long! California also needs to change its policy on stopping criminals before they do even more damage.

When the pickup got caught in a dead end, and the cop let him drive past rather than hit him, was unforgivable. The cop could have ended the chase right there, with modest damage from a low-speed impact. If the perp had gone on to kill someone, that cop should be partially responsible.
It looked like police had a great opportunity to block him on that dead end at 2:38...

What a joke how this was handled. CHP should take lessons from other states' highway patrols in how to stop a suspect. So many opportunities to box him in or do a PIT and they didn't.
This is ridiculous for vandalism! There were so many missed opportunities for doing a PIT maneuver when no traffic was around or blocking him in when more units were involved. 9 cop cars not needed for a vandalism complaint!
Police had NUMEROUS opportunities to SAFELY PIT but instead POLICE let an innocent civilian STOP the CHASE for them!
Pit stopping a suspect causes a lot of damage to cruiser so they just wait for suspect to run out of gas or disable the vehicle

Instead an innocent person took it head on, tax payers aren't going to buy that person a new car, cops shouldn't be worrying about their cars they should be worried about the public they are supposed to serve and protect.

With both the white SUV earlier, and the crash with the red car that ended the pursuit, you can see clearly that he aimed his pickup towards both of them.

LEO are trained to decide when to use the PIT. The risk vs. the means decision. How would you react if the LEOs use the PIT on the street you live on? Better yet, how would you have handled this situation?
The police officers are using due caution in not causing a chase at higher speeds that could lead to fatalities. They had him. They just needed to keep him in sight till they could close in safely.

The fact this ended in a head on collision after the CHP non chalantly let him out of a dead end is the most pathetic thing I’ve seen this week. I hope that driver sues CHP.

Failure of law enforcement to stop the truck at the dul-de-sac early on in the chase to a certain extent contributed to the head on crash between the criminal and the red car. Now the red car is totaled, the owner of the red car has to endure the loss of his car and time off work, potential injuries etc.🙄
Considering his original offense was just a misdemeanor, he'll be serving time for a slew of felonies. What the hell, man?

It's insane to me that they got him out of the car when there was no real danger. You don't get people out of a car crash unless it is on fire, you wait for medical professionals.

Shows just how "bad" reporting can be. They're saying he's "still resisting," when it's obvious he has a head injury, has blood on his forehead, and is (in all likelihood) in shock and maybe unconscious. When they pull him out he even leaves blood on the pavement.

The Police could have stopped that "Vandalism" suspect THREE times. All the police did was escalate the situation until a crash happened where someone innocent could have been killed. Now tell us why were they chasing a vandalism suspect all over town then come out with dozens of guns drawn. YOUR TAX DOLLARS HARD A WORK

Watch chase videos in Arizona or Arkansas, they don't play games, they do pit maneuvers at 120 mph, in California have to be done at 30 mph, with calm wind, temperature between 65 and 80 degrees, (kidding in the last 2 ones)but any minute this guy is in the street there's a lot of people in risk to be killed for nothing.
