As a South African I'm almost angry everyday because of the problems we have to go through or see. But these interviews make me to say, hey hold on, South is still a great country despite all the frustrating things we are going through. Hopefully, we shall overcome.
its amazing, I feel the exact same way. I feel like we lack so much, there is so much inconvenience, especially with the load shedding, and crime and the likes. Then we listen to these interviews and hear their experience of South Africa and they see nothing but positive in the country, I guess its true, you never know how blessed we are in this country and or we do not see what they see in us and the opportunities of SA
You have to remember Thami as bad as you have it or think you have it, we in America have it just as bad in many ways. For we are at war here just trying to maintain our heart, mind and souls. We have been deprived of land and language, love, peace and happiness and freedom and justice. Even our family institutions are under attack. We are isolated from mother Africa and have been marginalized to the out fringes of white American society. They are trying to replace us in the work force with immigrants from around the world and still hate and fear the African American man terribly. But out of all of this what they fear most is that we keep rising and refuse to die. I don't think many South Africans truly understand why we find South Africa do appealing and why we are magnetically attracted to the energy. For this is what we have been deprived of, African life, family, culture, civilization and its life force. I could go on and on, but I think you understand what I'm trying to say. Peace and love.
I made a 40k investment to address my energy problems . I installed a solar geyser which is hybrid, bought a gas stove for cooking and bought an inverter for when load shedding begins. I will be paying off the 40k loan in no time because of the savings on my energy bill and i don't get to experience load shedding. For those who can afford to make that loan, go for it. You will save you a lot of money. Thank you Brother Asad and wife for connecting us with our cousins.
You are not an immigrant Doc you are part of the family now. We love the fact that your love for SA, with all its challenges, is unconditional. We sincerely appreciate it. Thanks again for choosing SA. You could have gone to any country in the world, but you chose SA despite the pervasive media propaganda peddled against our country and the continent. That means a lot to us.
@@mbusovilakati6020 our African people when they come to SA they keep to themselves and have negative perception of black SAns. They are here to study or make money by any means necessary. Most are here illegally and are involved in criminal activities. One Nigerian even told me that SAns are lazy and stupid and SA would be nothing without White people. After digesting that I gave up on our so called African brothers. More important, AAs announce before coming to familiarize themselves with black SAns and in that way it becomes easier to create friendships with them. I have also noticed that they are more into seeking partnerships with us than to outcompete us. This is the part that interests black South African the most and that also makes welcoming and relationship building much easier. So far, I think we have a lot in common with AAs than with our continental brothers in terms of our social and political outlook I think it has to do with the nature of our oppression and the political interpretation of the underlying causes of our economic circumstances. That's just my subjective view.
This is the best interview yet. I love the way that Adrienne asked “what were the deciding factors” because we were able to learn some great gems from Shareef’s point of view. Great job Adrienne, Asad & Shareef! I can’t wait to meet you all in person.
I agree that SA IT tech is advanced. My niece took me to her work in Sandton, Johannesburg in December and they have face recognition to get into the office building. ABSA bank also doing face recognition to sign into app. I've yet to see this in Canada. Heck I was still paying rent by cheque here in Canada a handful of years ago instead of direct deposit which I was used to when I lived in SA.
