Heart to heart had this problem big time. I can take him more seriously in this one, because he is supposed to be philosophical alien being that we don't understand and we have to put the pieces back together. In the heart to heart animation for it it seemed like he isn't taking what he says seriously and just constantly smiles with no repercussions, even though we clearly knew before hand that he has problems with the vortigaunts, so he wants to make sure that Freeman does exactly what he wants so things can happen correctly. This one he isn't smiling as much which I really appreciate and you can clearly see moments where he doesn't want to screw himself at what he wants to say to Freeman.

Comparing both, This versions has his eyebrows moving and expressing WAYYYY too much but his upper cheeks/under eyes skin doesn't move AT ALL. The HL2 version has WAYYY less expressive eyebrows but MUCH more expression in the skins under the eyes/upper checks
It feels less realistic for me because G-Man himself looks more realistic with the new model, while the animation is a little too stiff for the new expressive and fluid G-Man.

can you imagine a remake of HL2 + Episodes, using HL:Alyx's Assets, in a VR game?
gawd it makes me hard just thinking about it
This is cursed, it fits in with the Alyx art style but it looks so weird in half life 2
Nice touch showing the Black Mesa test chamber. That's one of many things I think Valve should've updated in their games.
another excellent animation for the man himself, well done!!
Looks great!
These channels are helping us to get used to this Gman
love it, super Nostalgic. feels like the first time seeing it
0:56 - heh - "i don't even harm a fly" - PSYCHO...
Those subtle head facial movements add so much creepiness to this.
This IS FANTASTIC. Literally all it need’s is some tasteful glowing of his eyes.
at 0:51 he looks exactly like norman bates for a second
Gman looks way older, more villanous and more expressive
one thing ive noticed taht throws me off is just how almost always parted his lips are when in the originals they often closed, so you end up with this akward almost smile
I Love it, the animation is amazing
This is pretty darn good! If I were to change one thing about it, it would be that the light in the original scene appears to be rotating around the G-man's head, while here it seems to be static. But I still like it quite a lot.
