If you can just go to a pilot or Loves and pull through the trucking fuel area. There is fresh def on the pump. You could even fill up another 5 gallon jug of it to have on hand.
This is what I do. I try not to get in the way of the professional truckers if it’s busy. I have to park at the pump and pay inside first. One other advantage is that your DEF tank is exactly full when you’re done. When I’ve filled with a 2 1/2 jug, I always end up with a bit left over.
This is what I always do. Make sure it's a busy truck stop, not some random place that rarely gets a big rig in. Loves, Pilot, Flying J located right off an interstate are usually good bets. The big rigs run through def and diesel so much that they always have fresh fuel and def in the wells.
Thank you for info. I had this code at home but out on the road and ran very low. Please note to everyone it burns fast while towing a 30 ft 5th wheel. Why do they make it hard to know the date? Like everything…. Follow the money. Manufacturers sell their old product to us because many of us didn’t get the word. They don’t have to take it back from retailers, and don’t have to recycle or dispose of it. We burn it in our trucks for them, hopefully not doing too much damage along the way. So the government is complicit in this as to allow this crazy code. If it is made in Georgia, JUST SAY SO! If its shelf life is 60 days passed expiration just let us know so we can make an informed decision. The government gets involved when a Subway foot long sandwich measures 11.89 inches, but not this slight of hand labeling?
Great video, thanks! Yeah it’s totally absurd they put this bizzaro cryptic system on the DEF boxes. I bet they have some ancient AS400, mainframe system or something and they’re too lazy / cheap to create a translation program and have the printer put a normal expiration date on the box 1 year or something from date of manufacturer… This is rookie computer science 101 programming stuff I did in my first programming class eons ago…
I'm trying to figure out why you subtracted to the 083 from 365. It expires one year from date of manufacture. So it was made 2019 on the 83rd day of the year, unless I've gotten something off with your math.
hey there, no one of the injectors was not working so i had to replace it and clean the whole system i been using blue def now, it seems like its working fine now
A diesel mechanic I know said storage under 80 degrees F, out of sun and above freezing (can create condensation in freeze/thaw storage cycles and throw off the water urea ratio). Tho he said hot is worse than cold for DEF.
Total bunch of bullshit Just put expiration date on the Box making things more difficult than what has to be some of the people in our country of lost common sense
The manufacturer's code is also on the plastic bottle inside the box, which should match the printed code on the outside of the box, if it is legible. Mine was not legible on the box but was very clear on the bottle.

Now that’s the best suggestion I’ve heard so far on DEF.
Very easy to follow. Thanks for the education
Thanks for watching sir 🙏
They have a new 13 digit code now
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it
Great information thank you. But why they make so hard to know

Great information. Thanks!
Great video!
Why they use this complex expire date?
Great help.... much appreciated bro...
Veryhelpful. Thank you. From She to Me channel provided this link.
thank you, if you could send me a link to where she provided this link i will appreciate it, thank you!!
After you change the DEF metering Valve, did your light went away bro??
Did that fix the issue?
hey there, no one of the injectors was not working so i had to replace it and clean the whole system i been using blue def now, it seems like its working fine now
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY Well done man! Dealer would have charges THOUSANDS, because they want to replace EVERYTHING!!
It's almost like they don't you to know the date....hmmm
I have thought the same thing👍
Is storing def in my van in the winter a bad idea?

We don’t need no stinking batches.
That is ridiculous it was made so complicated to figure out the expiration date on that crap
Thanks for this.
thanks for watching!!

qhi the hell has a Julian calender in their back pocket
if they have a phone with service, GOOGLE
At bucees rn and none of the 2.5g jugs have this kind of code on any part of the box 😔
The manufacturer's code is also on the plastic bottle inside the box, which should match the printed code on the outside of the box, if it is legible. Mine was not legible on the box but was very clear on the bottle.
I don’t know why they can’t just put the actual date of manufacturing on it.
Thank u
Well done 👍
