Mike once said on his youtube channel, if they ever gonna bring in a new singer, they would not want a singer similar to Chester, so that make me believe there might be a chance, this guy is right
Hadn't heard about that, but at that point, I figured they'd just start a new band because of how difficult it would be to carry on without Chester.
@TankTheTech That's what I was going to say. At that point it doesn't make any sense to continue as LP without Chester.
Can double this
@@TankTheTech would be the only move that would work to some degree. Can't make Linkin Park music without Jester. That's the right time to start a new Project.
+1 to the fact that Shinoda said they would never get someone that sounds like Chester. I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with a female artist. Or kind of what they did with “guest vocalists” at the Tribute show.
It’s all speculation. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
Nothing will be set in stone until Shinoda actually says something. He is a smart man.
Chester's irreplacable. Let's make that clear. BUT, and this is a big but, If the rest of the guys genuinely want to move on and start touring, who are we to tell them off? All of them are talented musicians that deserve to make music again. It's been near enough 7 years. Bands usually move on quicker than that. It's not our place to tell them what they can or can't (or rather should or shouldn't) do. The only thing that would be a bit disasppointing is If it wasn't all of the guys + the new vocalist. It should be all of the remaining members imho. If it actually happens, it's gonna be for sure an interesting new era for LP. But until we hear something from the guys themselves, I don't believe anything.
Yeah, 100%. Stories like this get blown up so quick without and solid information. And I'm not suggesting that they SHOULDN'T try and do something like this, I'm just saying I have a hard time believing this story and that it may happen.
@@TankTheTech Oh yeah, I wasn't trying to make it sound like I'm aiming it at you. It's just in general, I've seen a lot of comments being a bit... Touchy about LP potentially getting a new singer
right on
When I first read the article, I assumed touring vocalist. I think they may want to play some shows as a tribute to their history, but I highly doubt they ever release new music under the name Linkin Park.
I do kinda think that "replacing" is always a strange word to use in this type of context.
100%
It's still replacing regardless if it's because dude is dead or otherwise. Don't get so sensitive that you can't even use words, properly.
@@robowenmikels I couldn't give a shit less about the sentimentality in play in this situation. It's quite the oposite of that really. Replacing to me as a word implies a one to one. Some type of boring search for the same old shit. Whereas it's more about being open to something different and new.
It’s also strange to have a famous band and tons of money and a family, and then you selfishly take your own life, lying to your family that you’re ok. Then leave them to pick up the pieces. What a rockstar.
@@robowenmikelsoh get off your high horse douche bag
I'm expecting to hear Bonnie Fraser (Stand Atlantic) with them. Her performing of 'Bleed it out' in Mike Shinoda's Already Over Live Sessions (the Sydney one) reminded me so much of Chester.
Not her. She made a video on her band's TikTok to disclaim the rumors (that she started in the first place).
I feel like that's where this all started. Someone saw the Bleed It Out video, assumed, and told it to the Orgy dude or mentioned it and the Orgy dude missheard or something like that. I don't think its straight from Mike's mouth unless he said it kinda jokingly or as something they're considering or something along those lines
@@sean_mccadden No, Jay Gordon slipped it out on like April 2nd so everyone thought it was a late April Fools. Then a week later, Bonnie Fraser was opportunistic and made a TikTok video saying she was joining Linkin Park. Only to disclaim it in another video. Then a radio host wanted to add more fuel by asking Amy Lee if she thought about fronting LP. She said she was never asked but would be interested. It was just a huge mess of misinformation.
@@jariemonah not really Bonnie made the TikTok in response to another TikTok claiming she was going to join Linkin Park, to make fun of them (she explained that on triple j when debuting their new song last week) but didn't expect it to get this much traction and when it did she was like "i've done fucked up". However since a lot of people never saw the first TikTok people don't get that context.
That cover popping off on tiktok over the past couple weeks is probably where the “female replacement vocalist” came from but yeah like everyone else said: Bonnie’s insanely successful with Stand Atlantic and she ain’t tryna leave to sing someone else’s songs full time.
I can still remember the exact moment I heard he died.
Same. I was at work and ran into the bathroom to sob. 😢
@@maesynnmayhem I was at work too, at an electronic store where we all wore walkies to talk to each other and a coworker said it over the walkies and I swear the store went quiet. Most of us working at that moment were 90s kids that grew up with them
So does his family. Because he was soo selfish.
Blasted hybrid theory n meteora on the pa system at concert volume at home smoking blunt when i found out
As soon as they played a linkin park song on the radio…that’s when I knew
Chris and Chester within a few weeks of each other was a hard month in music. Two of the most distinctive voices of my formative years
Why? You think about them, but they didn’t think about their wives and kids. WhAT a LoSs
When Chris’s daughter singing hallelujah I was crying hysterically
People need to drop this gatekeeper mindset. Nobody is thinking about the surviving members. Let them have this opportunity to be a band again instead of being stagnate.
It's not "replacing", its moving on.
Let's not forget, Chester is the one who made his choice to leave everything behind.
Exactly. Everybody is a sensitive whine bag, these days.
This exactly
Not if he was murdered
As much as I loved Chester and his LP contributions, I believe that it’s time for the band to move on. Chester was just one part of the band, not the entire thing. As an example, when Tuomas fired Tarja as lead singer of Nightwish, everyone thought that the band was over. Yet, he managed to bring two banger lead singers and the band is going strong nowadays.
Yes. Also, Arch Enemy had a male vocalist, then switch to Angela
@@V.erito. And then Angela left and you couldn't pay me to listen to their new music.
@@robowenmikels yes, I don't listen to new Arch Enemy. I saw them live in 2022 and it was really good, I'm not going to take that away from them, but I enjoyed more the Johan era and then the Angela era.
I remember the day... I could not go to the Novarock Festival where Linkin Park was playing, and I never missed one Novarock Festival. I even did go on with a broken food after a moshpit and with a fever a few years later, but 2017 because I was very VERY sick I couldn't go and a few days after the news of Chester came. I cried so much... it was like a family member died... LP Hybrid Theory was in my childhood the most played CD.. and I screamed and cried to the songs in my room. So LP was a huge influence growing up... I am so sad even now that I missed that one Novarock Festival with them because my Body was not working.... I have not many regrets in my life. But not seeing them one last time is one.
I always wanted Deryck from Sum 41 join up with them for tours. Sum 41 did a live cover of Faint with Mike, and he kinda nailed it.
An idea i had heard from Mike himself in an interview was that he would take over for lead vocals, and Pheonix, the bass player, would do backing vocals, if, and a big if, they start touring again.
There is very big chance that Jay has been talking to people that are close to LP's inner circle as several other Orgy members played in Chester side project Dead by Sunrise. I know they were very close with Chester, especially Ryan Shuck, and if I recall correctly Ryan is friends with at least Mike too.
The biggest rumour has been that vocalist is Bonnie Fraser from Stand Atlantic, who has great relationship with Mike and she posted a Instagram story where she took a picture of their band in rehersal and had caption "They dont know I'm ditching them for Linkin Park". She very quickly removed that story.
For LP's future I would love to see them making music and tour with a new vocalist, but retire the name Linkin Park and continue under new name. Everybody know who they are so the name change would not slow them down at all as everybody would still be talking about them.
I’ve never understood why Mike after his grieving period and fan service didn’t just bring back his side thing Fort Minor. FM was good but he was so busy with LP stuff at the time to do more. It would let Mike do Mike things and stop having to play second to Chester
Fort Minor was never a band. It was just Mike featuring some guest artists. He's made a ton of solo material since Chester's death. And produced for other artists and films. He won a Grammy in 2022 as well.
@@jariemonah Well he can now utilize the Fort Minor name again to make new projects.
@@snark567 He's been using his solo name for several years now. I don't think Fort Minor as a name is still a thing.
With a Singer like Tatjana or Alissa, it would be 🤯 great. Replacing someone as a Singer is a Nightmare in nische Bands, Mitch and Trever, but in LP, it's like getting BD into IM
From what I've read on social Media lately, LP is booking some Festival and Headling shows for next year and the booking agencies have leaked that information
oh yeah they were friends back in the day . jay gordon is featured on reanimation. linkin park (hed) p.e. orgy korn and those bands all use to be tight
Dead by sunrise
@@roguestatusstiDead By Sunrise featured different Orgy members but not Jay Gordon
It sucks that Chester passed but it also sucks that the band died when he passed. It's been seven years. It's time to move on and not let the band only be a memory.
I’m all for Linkin Park moving on and writing new music with a new singer with harsh vocals!
I wouldn’t be interested in seeing a fill in for Chester though.
Rest in peace 🪦 Chester
Cool video ty for this i also didnt believe the articles either. If you have some time. We need a reaction to all that remains new song 😮
I've watched quite a lot Mike shinoda after the tragedy. And actually i can easily imagine LP with a female singer.
They did brave decisions in the past and I don't think, they're afraid of their fans not liking ot or smth
I would LOVE to see them tour again, i never got a chance to see them when i was younger, was supposed to go to download the year they were doing hybrid theory set but fell through for various reasons, regretted massively
LP spoke to my soul through the years growing up, like you said chesters death hit many fans hard, myself included one of the few celeb deaths i actually cried at it hit that hard
If they did do some kinda reunion/tribute tour the vocalist would have to be the perfect fit, i would say someone with a similar style but could put there own mark on it too while doing justice to chesters legacy, off the top of my head Justin Bonitz lead vocalist for Tallah would be an unreal fit for a tourin vocalist but band would be too small for them i bet, justins range and skills are just insane what he can do
Well anything’s possible, but I’m guessing that as a full time member at least, this is probably unlikely.
As you said - could be touring / recording with a female vocalist 👍🏻
Das Feuerschwanz/ Orden Organ yesterday kinda because of your Reaction. It was amazing, Even compareable to an EC show
When I read the title I was immediately reminded of Queen with Adam Lambert or Sublime with Rome. Most likely a different spin on the music, but not replacing Chester.
Favorite LP memory is going to see Live105's Not So Silent Night in Oakland. They had Tim McIlrath of Rise Against come on and sing "What I've Done". Was magical.
I dont have that emotional connection to LT but the brand is still worth alot and it would be crazy if they werent on the lockout for a new vocalist.
This is curious because I do know former orgy member Ryan Schuck has very very close ties to LINKIN PARK, more so than Jay did.Hes still active with Julien K and recently toured as the lead singer of Adema (he’s no longer involved with Adema though)
Im glad I'm not the only one knowing about Julien-K, love that project he has with Amir! They also were in Dead By Sunrise with Chester!
I wanna chime in on this one. I love LP and was devastated, when Chester died. I had never seen LP live. I really would love to see LP live with a new singer. I imagine the feelings would be nearly overwhelming in that crowd.
Love your stuff Tank, have a good one.
I hope they do. Chester will never be replaced, and no one will ever be able to hit the same or compare to him for me, especially with the emotion he puts into every word. BUT... I don't think he would've wanted to crash the careers of everyone else when he passed. I think they should rename though out of respect
I would like to see Linkin Park perform with Ivo Rosário, singer from Hybrid theory - Linkin Park tribute band from Portugal. The whole band is really similiar to original LP but the singer he actually sounds very very similiar to Chester.
PS.: I think that some reaction to them on something from their Live concert from Altice arena would be great. I would like to see your opinion, what you think of them.
Yeah, I've watched some of their videos and they ARE really good. I don't know if the band would go that route if they did, but it may not be a bad choice.
Mike Shinoda gave his opinion on tribute bands recently and he's not interested in them. He's also been very vocal about not wanting to listen to Chester copycats.
Do a video on hybrid theory band@@TankTheTech
@@jariemonahhe isn’t a copycat, he has a similar voice. Mike could perfectly do a concert with them because they are in fact very good.
@@SS-yc9nu Mike has already expressed his disinterest in that tribute band and all other tribute bands. He also expressed his dislikes for people intentionally trying to sound like Chester. You're telling me that a tribute band singer is not intentionally trying to sound like him? Get real.
They should invite the clean singer from I Prevail or from ashes to new
no way
Linkin park doesn't need to add dramatic F-boys to their line up.
@@israelrosario3922 they don't need cleaned up gen z hipsters or dramatic feminists either.
There's only one guy who could fill in for Chester temporarily: The front man of "Hybrid Theory", the LP tribute band. It's uncanny how close he gets. (BTW, have you checked them out?)
For a bit of backstory, I'm not familiar with the current members of Orgy, but I know that Chester was really close to two ex-members (Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck, who go by Julien-K, very cool musical project, they were at Projekt Revolution with LP and My Chemical Romance back in 2017 ), together all three did the side project Dead by Sunrise.
Not that it has anything to do with the subject but that was my brain linking (lol) Orgy to Linkin Park :)
I saw Orgy open for Family Values first run in the late 90s. They were awesome.
It’s like wanting a sequel to a movie. You want to know what’s next, but you don’t want it if you’re going to be let down by it.
I miss Chester so much 😭😭😭
The fan base will dig it. We love the band, we want them to heal, and we want to heal. We will be there. Bring it!
One thing that your missing here is that Linkin Park so constantly evolved with every album so if they are coming back then this is a new evolution. Also a blanket statement saying fans won't dig it is a bit closed minded, I a massive fan is genially excited we may get LP back in a new form. Mike Shinoda has been touring all over the world work with differnt vocalists so he may of stumbled on a hidden gem and thought about it even to pull her in. Just having a potentially return for a band that mean so much to all is huge.
I completely agree with your take. As a big LP fan, I find the fan base falls into 2 groups those who liked the band and how they changed things up and the other group liked LP for Chester.
I'll be straight up honest...
Just like with Eloy vs. Jay with Slipknot, Jason vs. Cliff with Metallica...whoever covers for Chester does not have to "BE Chester".
We need to stop expecting other musicians to be who they are replacing. Period. They are not them.
I think that this would be an interesting topic for you to cover sometime 🤘
I enjoy watching you and genuinely get excited when I see you've posted new videos
In regards to impossible to replace Chester. Whilst I completely agree Chester is a king in every way.
But just some examples who would have slipknot would replace any of the original 9 and now look a them? Pantera with out dime and vinnie not a chance we would all have said... Oh here we are. And so on.
Will be very hard to fill the gap of chester but I'd rather have Linkin park with sadly no Chester than sadly no Linkin park at all
Totally get your point and agree with most of it, but replacing a singer, and someone who was the face of a band and had a huge connection to the fans makes it a bit more difficult. With Slipknot, replacing a musician is one thing... Could you honestly imagine anyone but Corey Taylor fronting that band?
@@TankTheTech oh yeah it's massive shoes to fill in and I got no idea how and if linkin park will manage it as Chester is goat level.
But if LP think they got someone and from everything I've read and heard over the years for them to even potentially be considering doing something with out Chester they must have something good lined up as there was also that report that their booking agent is reaching out to promotors for 2025
It could just be like a reunion /farewell Chester celebration world tour type thing perhaps . Now, making new music with out Chester, well that's an entirely different thing
@@TankTheTech ruclips.net/user/shortsw_rWRlI6Uyk?si=LNTGZ9nT6FhIFgKW
Jay says they got a girl singer
Booking agent taking offers for 2025
And now there is this video of Mike with stand Atlantic and more importantly their female vocalist doing bleed it out
I think Jay might have seen the interview recently with Mike Shinoda when he was asked about the possibility of Linkin Park getting back together. In the interview, he said if they were to do it, they would not want a vocalist that sounds like Chester Bennington. And I think he also went as far as considering even having a female vocalist as a Surefire way to have a vocalist that isn't trying to imitate Chester Bennington.
Off the top of my head, a couple girls who could do what Chester does for a tour:
Tatiana Shmayluk from Jinjer
Candace Kucsulain from Walls of Jericho
Courtney LePlante from iwrestledabearonce and Spiritbox
Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy
All 4 of them have the stage presence, screams, and cleans to do everything Chester does live.
@tankthetech if you see this you NEED to check out the cover band HYBRID THEORY, the go as far as even looking like the members of LP
I've seen their videos. They're one of the better tribute bands I've ever seen.
People were speculating that it’s the girl from Stand Atlantic, because Mike had her on that live session thing. I don’t think it’s gonna happen myself, and that band is cool and I’m sure she’s a great person, but I would nooooot be a fan of that
I hope they do finally move on it’s been nearly a decade wounds will never fully heal but if the band wants to I fully support it and I know fans will too
Jay and Ryan from orgy are very connected in the numetal world Ryan was in a band with Chester they were all close friends
Perhaps Jay Gordon did mean to leak that information so it can be talked about and get the fans reaction. I can see that being a possibility for something like this.
Maybe it was something like testing the waters? Dropping the "info" and see how the people react. If there would be a chance that it could work, before they do it.
Orgy is still making music. Good stuffs ❤
I trust those guys, they won't disappoint us. Chester will never be replaced, but they know what they're doing.
Love LP, if they return I look forward to what they bring. I love how they adapted over time, tried new things and branched out. They are all talented and Mike a solid visionary.
I doubt they would "replace" Chester. No one could "replace" him. But they could bring a new singer in and try some new things.
Sounds far fetched but I won't hate on em for doing something.
If they get a new singer, the fans will feel it’s just some person singing Chester’s lyrics, but it’s not from the same pain from the same person. it definitely will make them feel uncomfortable. 😫
I have always been a massive Linkin Park fan and what a lot of people who loved their music didn't get is Mike Shinoda wrote just about all their songs including lyrics. Mike is such an under estimated writer and people always say we hear Chester's pain, but those where events Mike wrote about that Chester brought to life because of his pain. In fact if you listen to interviews much of what Chester wrote was not good, he often tried to write music that sounded like stuff done by Chester's favorite bands. I know for people who liked LP just for Chester didn't understand the greatness of the band.
Youre one of my favorite channels, with that said, i fully believe it is possible. Mike cant do what chester could do, chester was not the same as mike. But I am guessing the band misses playing. Years ago, when lynyrd skynyrd got back together, pre reunion tour they had a female singer because they knew that any male would be compared unfairly to Ronnie, why Rossington Collins band didnt have great success they did what was right. So i think the best way for them to move on is to hire or recruit a female, now that doesnt mean they are, but any male vocalist would 100% be compared to CB and it would not he fair to the band or whoever the male singer would be. Time will tell, but if they miss playing music live then i hope they are able to find comfort in whoever they chose.
I had to leave my job when I saw the news on my phone about chester death. I went to work and I had to go home I never had to leave work for a celebrity death. Went home and blasted their music on repeat for weeks and cried that night. Rip Chester 🙏❤️
I used to think it was disrespectful to tour without Chester but thinking about it now, I think it’s what he would’ve wanted
It’s never gonna be the same, but at least they’re back 😢😢😢
Three months ago, Mike Shinoda posted a video which was a studio performance / Music video for a project called 'Already Over.'
In that video titled 'Already Over Sessions: Episode 3 [London] - Mike Shinoda' there is a second vocalist who is female.
-
I believe the Orgy singer saw part of that video and made speculations, or he heard speculation from someone else who saw part of that video.
I'm sure a lot of the same types of things were said albeit in a different manner in 1980, but AC/DC found a way to carry on after Bon Scott passed. They went in a different direction with a different vocal stylist and the rest is history
Jay Gordon did a song with Linkin Park. Pts of authority ( Jay Gordon remix) officially on the reanimation album. Also another source has confirmed that they are looking for a female singer
I like the idea if done right, look at Static X. They did reunite and new album with respect and it came off fantastic!
Podrían juntarse a tocar , algún día, con Adam Gontier?
Escuché todos los temas q este cantante suele interpretar de linkin park y siempre me llegan al corazón.
Tiene algo muy especial😊👍
It is a sticky situation the rest of the band is in. They are all amazing and didn’t ask for the band to”end” because of Chester’s choice. OBVIOUSLY they would like to continue as the original and loved band they were, but that is not an option. I feel we have to embrace whatever choice they make. They aren’t trying to replace Chester, they are just trying to figure out how to move on. I am sure anything they do will be in his honor.
I'd be curious to see Mike front the band himself, and maybe hire a live full in for his previous spot.
Not sure who they would bring but i can see Elize ryd doing a good job she did well when she joined Nightwish the day Anette was ill and that shows adaptability to just jump into it
The way Pantera said it’s a celebration, not a reunion. This could apply to Linkin Park’s situation. If it does happen, it’s going to be a celebration of Linkin Park’s history
Linkin park should do a full album of covers with a new guest vocalist on every song, would be a cool tribute
Taylor Momsen might be the singer working with LP.
I was thinking Maria Brink from In This Moment
@@wateryevents960 God no...
@@wateryevents960 I'd pray against this.
yeah Maria would never leave itm
Taylor is great but I don’t think her vocals would “fit” LP
I could see and think it should be a 1 yearish world wide farewell tour as linkin park with so and so
No one can replace Chester, fans were heartbroken when Chester's gone, but unless LP disbands, otherwise they gotta move on. I may not like the new vocalist, but I can understand if they find a new singer.
Bobby Amaru (Saliva) would be the perfect choice. He has a working relationship with Mike and is quite experienced with the band life, especially being the #2 singer of an established band. Stylistically, he fits well with them
Nico with a guest spot? We all say the "crawling in my skin" vocal solo!
I'd prefer Linkin Park to start out touring with Chester's vocals being played while they perform, then maybe, just maybe depending on who they pick, have someone step in.
And Orgy wasn't a one hit wonder. Their cover of Blue Monday blew up and was really what they were known for, but they have multiple albums and are still touring. I personally liked their second album, Vapor Transmission, more than Candyass. And Candyass was a pretty good album back in the day.
I agree with your conclusion. I think it's going to be a "special guest" kind of thing if it's true, because like you said, fans (including me, even if I'm not a super fan) wouldn't dig a permanent thing at all, and I doubt the band would go too far with it. They're too respectful and intelligent for that.
But yeah, I could totally see a guest singer thing going on, like Queen did with Adam Lambert. Which I was fortunate enough to enjoy live along with my parents. And it was our BEST shared concert experience like ever in 2017. My mom still brings it up today. So yeah, it could work like that, I think, if enough respect is given to Chester, the band and the fans.
You made mention of Chris Cornell not being able to be replaced, which I agree, but Ritchie Kotzen, could at least get you close to the sound of his voice.
Matty from Memphis May Fire would be a perfect choice.
I heard someone saying that Amy Lee from Evanesence was doing some gigs with them. For the life of me I cannot remember where though.
Like Tank said it was one of the saddest days in music!! I remember going into work which was one of the longest shifts of my life!! I drank even more because I lost a friend the previous year to suicide as well
I don’t like this but I mean it is what it is. I respect their decision if there is any truth to this rumor. Still feels like we lost Chester yesterday, but we have to move on because such is the way of life
To be fair …orgy released ( if memory serves) 3 albums. But they were by no means a “1 hit wonder”. There was blue Monday and stitches. On their 2nd album it was dreams in digital. Then after their 3rd album it was pretty much over. But they had some great songs.
There is a tribute band from Poland who sounds as close as anyone has ever has to Chester. I believe their called Hybrid Theory coincidentally
Hey @TanktheTech has anyone asked you to look at the Prog Metal band Wheel yet Finnish metal band that sounds EXACTLY if not almost exactly like Tool their most recent song is called Empire off their third and newest album Charismatic Leaders
I think you missed a very important article by Billboard. Apparently the band has a new booking agency who is fishing for headlining festival spots next year for the band. There's also only 3 members returning. Rob and Joe have not been named as participants on that tour.
Yeah, this was recorded and edited up before that story came out. I’ll also believe it when I see it. Rumors circulate in the music industry all the time.
Not true either
@@chrisstyles4630 We'll see. I follow music news a lot and Billboard has never had a track record of publishing rumors, at least with Linkin Park. They'd usually rather ignore the band unless they release some records, go on tour, or some public legal stuff have occurred.
I'm a LP fan since 2002. Was part of LPU from 2004 to 2018. I deeply love the guys. Have flame tattoos that was my childhood dream getting, have Chester tattooed in my forearm. And i can tell you: Linkin Park was view as lame from the third album to 2017. After Chester passed away, the public opinion recognized how great the band really was/is. Every fucking record they've put out from the third one to the last one, was critized by the media and metal fans as " worse than shit ". That was to a point that Chester himself was so fed up with all that shit that he started to fight with fans, and being rude to fans. Corey Taylor had to come public and critize him and he came and apolozige but you can see that he was so so so so fucking done with that mentallity people had that " linkin park has to do the exact same thing everytime ". But linkin park was all about innovating and finding new cool ways to do music. He and the band was so into that thought that you can't even recognize the old linkin park sound to the 2017 sound. And that's exactly what they wanted. So i can GUARANTEE that he would find AWESOME to have a girl as a lead singer of the band. And all that shit that people are throwing at the band for the mere SPECULATION of having a female vocalist, it's just the same shit they did that lead Chester to the worst year of his life, his words. Those people who have listen to a few LP singles and call themself fans, they hurt the band more than anything.
Bring that girl as lead vocalist and let linkin park do what linkin park loves and always did: new stuff, different stuff and cool stuff no one's doing. Let the band find hapiness playing together once more for god sake
The last thing I remember about Linkin Park was they were just another rap/rock band... then they essentially released the same album 3 times. So I'm definitely getting old... as sad as it is of the passing of any decent human. I couldn't care less who they chose to replace, it's like the Pantera tribute... knowing that they were friends and letting a new generation hear the music live... then trust the band... also agree with Tank. Orgy's first album was good. But Linkin Park was just another Limp Bizkit back in '99, it was the last step over the edge to me quitting my high school band. But I'd be all for them going in a totally different direction to honour Bennington's contribution.
Heard the same thing on my local rock station this morning and they played some audio with the female singer singing with them and it was pretty good, she kept the Chester vibe without trying to be the same and just a copy
I'd like this. Linkin Park always had a unique sound that wasn't only to Chesters Credit. He is irreplaceable but I'd love to see them make actual new music and move on. That's also healing.
Jules Mitch from Setyøursails would be a perfect fit for linking park. She could sing all of jester Bennington s stuff, and even add more variety.
Matt Brandyberry from From Ashes to New would be the perfect fit. He even sounds very similar to Chester.
I’ve been saying for years that Tillian Pearson would be a great fit for Linkin Park and still have a feeling it might happen.
now that he left dgd...would be dope
Even if its not going to happen, it's still exciting
Spencer Sotelo ❤
Losing Chester was a big loss back then personally I do not think they should tour again anyway on happier news Nightwish is in a couple of months releasing their next studio album first single from it will be released May 21st
If it's true, it would be interesting. If it's just a tour, I can only imagine Spencer Sotelo of Periphery joining because of how close he sounds like Chester. Though maybe they wouldn't do that. Because someone commented Mike wouldn't want that
Chester would be extremely difficult to replace. However if his clip of “Crawling” is any indication, Nico could definitely hold his own. And that’s if they wanted to try and keep a similar sound.
Honestly, there's only one female singer that came to my mind, who I could picture doing a tribute tour or something like that with LP, and that's Sandra Nasic. Simply for vocals, but I also do not expect that to actually happen, even if Guano Apes and LP made it big more or less around the same time.
Hey if they would be starting again, that would be great. I can understand that it may have taken some time for them to process, most likely grieve. I always wondered why they did not simply disband LP. If they start again and move on, that would be great. And a female vocalist would be a definitive sign of a new start. I'd give them a chance on starting new. P.S. that situation reminds me of Queen after the death of Freddy Mercury.
I think if they do any type of tour it should be a special guest tour ,each song they play it should be say Alex terrible doing given up ,other famous singers doing ect bit like the Korn covers when Jonathan was ill or road runner records album so on 🤘
A, i do kind of think it's more likely to be a guest for touring rather than a full on replacement, if it isn't just fully made up speculation.
B, it has been seven years, and straight up, as long as they found someone who would do it justice, touring or full member, i can respect the time and space they gave their fans before theoretically testing the waters with a new vocalist
C, there's a few newer female vocalists i genuinely think could kill it. The vocalists from Spiritbox, Jinjer, and Poppy to name a few. They would almost definitely be guests because they already have their own bands, but i absolutely think they would do Chester proud.
They really should bring on the lead singer from Hybrid Theory. He sounds like Chester more than anyone else.
you should watch the already over live session he did in sydney australia. He had a female singer and that and i think that is the person they are talking about?
