Great idea because these deerflies and horseflies are vicious.

What a great idea! I normally put my braid through that opening in my hat, but if it'll trap the insects, I'll make do! The horseflies and mosquitoes are insanely bad this year.

This is the best. I loved your sound effects. Spot on. I find when I put my bug net on the leave me alone. Without it, I just keep moving

They’re attracted to black not because it’s black but because it soaks up more heat. They seek infrared (heat) assuming if something is warm it must have nice blood to tap into. This is a neat trick I’m going to try as we also have the same deer fly over here, thanks.

The decorative rope on my misty mountain hat will finally serve an actual purpose! Lol. Thank you for always posting useful info, tips and tricks. I’m in Cape Breton so everything you do applies to my area as well. Always appreciate learning new things from you, love your channel!

The color yellow seams to attract best.Learned that from the equipment I operated. Sit on yellow painted and then the others and you will find out.

Good tip. Luckily I don't have much of a problem with any type of big biting flies here.

Great idea, I also heard from someone on the South Shore that their dad attaches a fake dragonfly to the front of his hat and claims it works…maybe test that one out as well

I’ve heard that one too. I’m looking for one. I don’t think I want them sticking to my hat. Seems kinda cruel even if they do drive me crazy.

I bought a dragonfly and put on my hat and it didn't help at all. I'm going to try the tape trick.

Thankfully my back yard rarely has annoying things with wings but when I walk/bike in the woods your story sounds all too familiar!

Right now I have a FAT BOTTOM LIP from a sting on it 3 days ago.
It's like a burn. Like that sticky tape idea.

Funny thing. If they get inside a building they seem to slow down a lot. Easy to squash then

Links to those convenient cards? I only found double-sided and much larger patch styles.

My son wears something like a cowboy hat - you can use the tape with that too. He uses a paperclip to attach to the brim, but adding some tape to stick it to the back of the head as well really works well
