Loyalty to what? The General murdered a minister then tried to frame a revered Admiral for the crime while they had proof the Admiral had nothing to do with it. He also effectively put the crown princess in jail. This should have never gotten this far.
@177_Anandito Nugroho Perhaps he was but Kido was not loyal at all. If he was loyal he would have never allowed the sham trail to take place and he would have never allowed the Admiral to be framed in the first place.
@@DimaEgorovRU I don't think he was, he let the general put the princess under lock and key after she told him the admiral was acting on her behalf. Japan gained from this. And truly, the methods it used in war was as ruthless as Germany used. But in the west people are forgetting it like the fact that Soviet Russia crushed Japanese army in China in 1945, that was maybe even more devastating blow then nuclear bombardment preformed by USA.

Funny but to me it seems that the IJN was the most honorable of the Japanese branches in WW2 and were simply telling the truth when they said that conflict with the US was logistically unsustainable, but the hierarchy of the IJA was much more inflexible and blind to the truth. The basic fallacy about this series is that it's based on a false premise: that the Nazis and Japanese desired and had the means to conquer the world. The Nazis did not think in Geo-political terms but Eurocentrically. Hitler thought in World War One terms, seeing the conquest of France and Russia as his ultimate war aims. The Nazis had no workable plan for even invading England and put no real energy into it. Nor did they have a navy capable of crossing the Atlantic against an America with three times their industrial plant. Hitler feared America. Similarly the Japanese limited their war aims to co-opting southeast Asia and China into their Greater Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere. They had no wish to go after America and could not support a cross-Pacific invasion of America with their minuscule industrial plant, barely 10% of America's. World conquest by the Nazis and Japan was simply not possible given the political-economy of their nations. But it's a nice and entertaining fantasy, which is what Hollywood is all about.
its alternate history, so in an alternate history things are not going to be the same as they were in our history. People often forget that two key factors prevented the Axis from winning the war. Russia and America's industrial capacity and manpower pool were so ridiculously massive.
@Pedro Santiago Chagas the goal of pearl Harbor was to destroy Americas naval might and prevent them from venturing into the Pacific so the empires expansion can continue in Asia. Also it mean to weaken America's resolve on hopes they would give up, upon destruction of their navy
