Would you be able to freeze dry something like chili in a mold and have it come out in that shape? Weird question, I know.

I pre-freeze any liquid like chili or soups in silicon molds then when I am ready to load the free dryer I pop them out on the shelves and in the machine they go and when they are done they are still in the shape of the molds. So it is one extra step to pre-freeze the liquid in my regular freezer but I prefer it so I can get my shape and size I want.
