    I'm not sure if I want this because the product is amazing or if it's because this lady could sell me anything?

    Will It Freeze Dry Heavy Cream.....?

    • @justkidding7523
      @justkidding7523 Год назад +1

      Well, if powered milk exist I’m guessing you can. Freeze dry it and use a grinder to pulverize it. Now you have heavy cream powder.
      Decided to look it up while typing out this message. Yes is the consensus.

    Can you really use the jars to store the food? Are they air tight without heat processing them?

    • @harvestright
      @harvestright  5 лет назад +4

      Yes, you can use jars to store food. For best results, you would want to include an oxygen absorber packet and seal tightly. Or, you can use jars to store food for snacking for several months (just be sure to keep lid on and tight when not eating).

      I was wondering if you should vacuum seal the jars (like I’ve seen done with a brake decompressor? (Or whatever that’ brake gadget is called?).

    What is the freeze dried recipe or formula to make freeze dried fruits ?

  • @Darlenejoy
    @Darlenejoy 4 года назад +1

    If using mason jars for storing, should you remove air from jars? Thus vacuum seal?
    If yes, what’s that brake tool called that sucks the air out? I saw a video a while back that was fitted to the mason jar mouth size or something. Any help?

      They make a 20$ food saver hand held that you can use on the foodsaver Mason jar tops or attach with hose. Jar tops come in reqular and wide mouth. 1 of each and your set. The food saver tops dont stay on jar after vacuuming.

    I bet this machine does excellent work, I really like freeze dried food. But only 2 things I am concerned about. First, the size of machine. It's big, takes a lot of space, especially for those who doesn't have a huge kitchen. Second, the energy it uses, since the food dries 24 hours. I wonder what bill amount people must pay for energy. Overall, it's amazing machine. Wish to have one, but it's very expensive.

      I saw it as an investment - it's the best prepping tool I own. Power cost is about $1.50 per batch. I have the large dryer and have it set up in my garage - built a custom air moving system to draw air from the house to keep it cool in the summer. Interesting fact - the large dryer will process more food than the small and medium dryers.....combined. The large dryer is the best value - and the oil less pump is worth the extra money. I've had mine for 18 months and have processed over 2600 pounds of food. HR does offer a payment plan if you like.

      It can go in any room ... like the basement, laundry room, or cantina. Why would you put it in the kitchen?

    Makes sense for real food. Freeze drying ice cream sandwiches is crazy. It's not healthy to eat that at any time!

      Beyond my means. I noticed that their mylar bags and O2 absorbers are REALLY EXPENSIVE. Those can be bought off of e-bay for much less. You can also use a $12.00 hair straightener for a sealer.

    • @jerrysmith372
