- We blew the motor during an endurance race.. so time to pull it! This video contains a step-by-step process of removing the engine of a 2nd gen SV650 (03-09). This is really useful - I appreciate it (even though I'm watching it at 1.5 speed heh).
A couple things that came to mind while watching - if you have the disposable 'puppy pee pads' they work great under the bike to catch any fluids that might leak.
Additionally, learn to despise duct tape. There are many better options to have around (blue masking tape, or about any other tape would be less sticky and goopy than duct tape).

I know I should be able to, but you didn’t post an installation video did you? Just something as reference when putting all of this back together would be nice. For the most part I stayed organized but there are a few times I got busy and forgot to put stuff where it should have gone
I havent posted an installation video, but I blew a motor at the MotoAmerica round so there will be another motor going in at some point
@@rcarson15 sounds good. I got all the way to the spindle nuts on the motor and nothing will work to get them out. Nobody around me has the sockets and anywhere online wants 50-120 just for a single socket. Crazy to me

Like video but boy the exhaust is solid on our bike. Any tips to free from engine block. ?
WD-40 came in handy big time. I generally spray it where the headers slip into the mid pipes.. I'll take a mallet and tap it back and forth to work it loose (assuming the exhaust is unbolted already). As for tips for unbolting it from the engine itself, definitely use patience, penetrating oil, and heat. Those bolts are very prone to breaking off and rounding out assuming care wasn't taken when they were put in.
