Great video! Would a out of specs valve clearance make the engine not to start? I have 2000 sv650 that doesn't start at this moment. I have spark, good compression, and fuel. I even tried starting fuel straight into the carbs with no success. In the past it would start right away. Thank you
Do you have a video to tell the difference between cam chain rattle and main engine bewring or piston slap. Mine doing a slapping / knocking noise from front cylinder.
You showed how the front came looks but not the rear im struggling to do timing on the rear
Great video!

They would have to be wildly out of spec for the engine to not start, that is most likely not the problem as to why your bike won't start.
Hey did you figure this out? Having the same issue on my 2002
Great vid mate, do you check sv1000 valve clearance the same way?

Find the issue?
can u send link for this box with shims?
When removing cam chain tensioners, do you remove the base with the two screws to the head or just the center bolt , spring and tensioner itself?
everything. I loosen the middle bolt first.
how many miles did you have on the engine when checking?
when was the valve clearance last checked?
These are race bikes. Miles are almost never known. I normally only check when building the engine. They get checked again when rebuilding.
How much more work would it be to remove the actual valves themselves and check they're not bent/tapping if cam timing was off ?
You'd have to remove both cylinder heads. You'd be looking at a few more hours of work.
There’s no way my bike would ever run again if I took it apart
Why are you ok with the intake valve being at 10 thou if the clearance is stated at .004-.008? First!
G it’s a common practice on race motors.
Negligible change in flow from the reduced lift then?
@LWT RACER do i have to drain the oil from the engine to do this?
nope.
@@LWTRACER if only them girls would reply me back as fast as you did🤣 you are a hero good sir. Thanks a million🙏
@@jyudomassan Just add to your Tinder profile that you can adjust your sv650 valves and those DMs won't stop coming in.
