As someone who was introduced to the Guardians of the Galaxy in this series, I can confirm that it's equally as jarring the other way around. (Also yes, Steve Downes as Star-Lord) :P
@Justin Gary As a fellow Christian I get that you're trying to help but this is not the way to do things. Randomly saying all this does nothing but annoy people and give people a bad impression. If you are going to paste this comment somewhere, do it somewhere where it means something. Don't be a clanging symbol
@Justin Gary First off, "Get over yourself" would imply that I am being self absorbed and isn't really the right phrase. I believe the phrase you were looking for was "F off". Secondly, a hypocrite is someone who says one thing and does another. Which would better suit you who claims to be understanding and yet turned aggressive the instant you were challenged. In this case I think you were looking for the word "Heretic" which is what religious zealots call anyone who shares most but not all of their beliefs. For clarity, I am not opposed to spreading the Gospel, far from it. But doing so "your own way" is not the way. God's way should be the only way. Your intentions may be pure but if you act without Him than you've missed the point. You aren't smarter than God. Refer to 1 Corinthians 3:18-20, James 1:19, Proverbs 18:13, and Proverbs 10:17 Learn to hear His voice, THEN act. Nothing in the Bible says to act without first hearing Him.
EMH's version of Hank Pym is my favourite rendition of the character. I like that he is interested in solving the problem of supervillainy, not just stopping the supervillains. And his fall into madness (which never got resolved due the cancelation) I thought was a wonderful set-up to explore his character. He was moralistic and flawed, a man who tries to do the right thing but is still emotional and biased.
It's the best and only version, period. Movie Pym has already lived his life so there's not much to explore. Comic Pym is an abomination that came to be because Marvel won't let go of the Slap, Ultron, and how it's all connected to Pym's insecurities.
This shows version of Carol Danvers was the first time I was introduced to the character and I really liked her in the show, so when captain marvel was announced to be in the MCU I was excited but was quickly disappointed with how they handled the character, I definitely think that EMH's version of Carol is the best take on Carol Danvers in the whole of marvel.
I am the exact same. I will say I had more exposure to Carol before EMH, I played as her in Ultimate Alliance and she showed up in my Justice League vs Avengers comic where Superman casually took her out in one instance and in another she managed to get one of the Mcguffins away from the Justice League before having it snatched away by Wally West but EMH is where I started to actually like the character so the idea of her having a movie excited me but a lot of things killed it for me. The actor's behavior outside the movie, the trailer and apparently the movie focusing on her being a woman, all this talk about how she was going to be the strongest Avenger, she was going to beat Thanos, etc. And for the last thing, I remember in EMH the Avengers were talking about how they thought Carol could probably beat The Hulk, one of the strongest Avengers and later in the show she beats a Skrull Hulk, strengthening this possibility so I have no issue with her being the strongest or among the strongest...just something with how they were going about it rubbed me the wrong way. Felt more like they were trying to force us to like her as opposed to just letting the character speak for herself. At this point it seems like I find everything before Captain Marvel Carol enjoyable and now I am not fond of her.
Spoiler: As of now this is my second watch of the show and I've notice more things. Not only the appearances of characters before they get more involved but lines of dialogue, especially things said by Hank Pym which help make his transition to yellow jacket make more sense. I really appreciate how planned out this show really was.
@Justin Gary it’s odd that you’ve been enjoying my content for over a year when I’ve only been making it for 3 weeks maybe the power of the almighty god transcends linear time? Maybe Jesus is really Earth’s Mightiest Hero… Or maybe you just need to touch grass
@Justin Gary I'm sorry but if you don't want someone to mock your Lord then you shouldn't bring him up in the first place. I'm seriously curious, what made you think it was a good idea to make an unrequested invitation to a conversation with someone who you're not even sure shares the same beliefs as yours? Or you just copy paste the same thing in every comment section of any video? Because I swear I don't have even *one* idea of a way to possibly connect Christianity with a cartoon about the avengers... 🤔
I think what I love most about EMH isn't just that it's so accurate to the classic Marvel comics, but that they manage to capture the feel of the classic Marvel comics while doing their own thing. Take Mar-Vell for example. The show's take is completely different from his comic counterpart, he doesn't immediately just go native to Earth, he's conflicted because of all the Kree propaganda he's been fed his entire life, and when humanity, and to a larger extent Carol, challenge those predetermined beliefs that he has, he begins to question his role. Hell he's even portrayed as an antagonist in the Ronan episode because of his loyalty to the Kree Empire and because he genuinely believes that with a Kree takeover he's genuinely helping the people of Earth that he loves so much. His change is gradual throughout the show, and I really appreciate that. He's honestly an extremely complex character who feels real despite being a literal alien from outer space. It works so well, but at the same time he feels like he would be a character who'd appear in a classic Silver Surfer comic.
IMO I love EMH more than MCU because it felt like the comics but animated while the MCU was just adapting with modern standards See the plots and the characters fro EMH are one to one with how the characters were in the comics, it felt like this was the peak of each character from their voices and their actions, to me this was who they actually were But MCU took liberties and changed stuff from changing the love story of Hawkeye and black widow to Bruce banner and black widow (speaking of which tf did they do to hulk? That will always bother me) EMC will be special to me because it just simply felt "true" to the marvel mythos
Funny, for the last week me and my and mom run out of marvel movies to watch in Dinner so then I remember "hey there was a really cool Avengers show that watch as a Kid", my Mother at first wasn't really into this show because she doesn't like Animated shows but then after the first 3 Episodes she Love It Wasp is her favorite Character
@@emedrag i agree, ive noticed that fans that want a series to continue, fail to realize the show wont be made by the same creators or for the same purposes. i mean look at teen titans go, young justice outsiders and he man masters of the universe.
Difference between marvel and dc, marvel has over 20 projects planned for the mcu but don't make a 3rd season of EHM, DC barely keeping the DCEU together but revived young justice and continued to add more seasons
One of the aspects that I loved about Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and still do to this day, was the character designs - Thor really seems like an otherworldly being possessed of divine power as he towers over the other Avengers, Jane is light on her feet, so to speak, and full of enthusiasm, Tony has his moments of cynicism and scathing sarcasm, they're all great.
Please, no. Let the dead rest. It's getting to the point where the thought of my favorite stories getting adapted and revived evokes _fear_ instead of hype because I know they'll just get ruined. Adam Warlock is a particularly terrifying proposition for me because I absolutely love who he is and what he stands for in the comics, and I dread that others will never get to see him as I do when the MCU reduces him to a shallow digestible caricature in a misguided attempt to make it "for everyone", as if it wasn't already. For the record, I didn't even like _Infinity War_ due to all the liberties taken with Thanos. Still alright in a vacuum, so long as I pretend that Jim Starlin's version doesn't exist. Pop culture is like Arlington Cemetery these days: you're sad that so many heroes had to die, often for stupid reasons, but the sheer quantity of the fallen show just how much potential we had, and that we might hit those heights again someday...
Hawkeye was my favorite character in the series, I just loved his talk shit and actually get it done attitude, shame MCU version isn't fleshed out like him
I grew up with this show and even watching the MCU along side it, these are the portrayals of MCU characters I remember the most (The Guardians being the exception). I often use this show as my comparison for many MCU versions of characters and when I read the comics these are the voices I hear. I think the greatest thing about this show was that nothing felt out of place, every character decision made sense and every action felt properly set up. I remember being on the edge of my seat during Kang’s invasion and being utterly creeped about by the mission into the Cube. This is truly Marvels best animated series outside the MCU, the only other equivalent being Wolverine and the X-Men. Also the intro was awesome as hell.
The tighter continuity of EMH puts to shame the DCEU creators claim that the MCU's continuity is too burdensome. MCU had LOOSE continuity across their narrative arc of 20 movies. DCEU couldn't even commit to maintaining loose continuity, its writers and directors wanted to vary from the comics template almost immediately. The studio just wanted to skip world building, and proceed straight to making the same world building mega money that MCU achieved.
@@iraford3702 Totally forgot about Spectacular. It made Tombstone go from a C-Lister to an A-List Supervillain. The scene of him offering Spidey money to work for him is one of my favorite moments from anything Spider-Man.
It's a shame there aren't more videos talking about EMH out here, so I'm glad to see another one! EMH was the show that got me into Marvel in the first place, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart.
this series was my introduction to marvel completely as a child, not only for me, but for my family. They obviously knew spiderman, hulk, and some of the captain, but absolutely nothing about the rest, and from that point on, I became an absolute fan. I really don't think there would have been a better series to get to know the Marvel universe and its beauty. I wish I had simultaneously seen Wolverine and the x men (who share continuity) and spectacular spiderman simultaneously, but just my experience with Avengers earths migthy's heroes is perfect.
Those shows shared continuity? Man what a freaking waste for Marvel, they could have actually got a pretty awesome animated unvierse but they fucked up.
This and Spectacular Spider-Man were easily my favorite Marvel series - in fact, I view both shows as the definitive versions of many of the characters & stories presented, compared to the MCU (with exceptions, I do actually prefer Cap, and the Guardians of the Galaxy portrayals in the MCU a little more; and I'd prefer a better balance between Hulk and Banner than what EMH presented) - especially Hank and Janet; probably my favorite of the show's cast. Easily the strongest advantage it had over the MCU was the fact that everyone was available to them; Spider-Man, Mutants & the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, etc. - if it was Marvel, they could use it. Unfortunately, the MCU has only just now gotten that luxury, after the loss or retirement of major characters...so now there are things we'll never really get to see. It's probably why its cancellation hurt so much at the time and still does now; not only did character plotlines & threads get left unfinished, but now all we have is the MCU versions or in the case of current animated projects, watered-down versions of them. I use this show as a baseline for what I'd like to see for a Marvel Animated Universe. The only things I'd change would be to add smaller moments and slow the pace down a little. Have more episodes around specific characters and their rogues galleries in their locations (Iron Man and the Mandarin, Black Panther in Wakanda) and moments of just character interactions without looming threats. Some arcs felt a little too fast - they were riding on that line between good pace, and a little rushed. From there, I'd add separate shows for other characters like Heroes For Hire, a Spectacular-inspired Spider-Man series, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Guardians of the Galaxy - all with their own stories or dealing with effects from the main Avengers series. Maybe even throw in a TV-movie here and there for big events like Battleworld etc. That would be the dream. I know it's essentially what the MCU is, but with an animated series has the potential for so much more longevity, and being serial instead of movie-based means you can really take your time to tell a good story. But maybe it'll only ever be a dream at this rate...as much as I still enjoy the MCU; the lack of a good separate animated series, and the long waits between big games...I'm often left thinking "I miss Marvel."
I remember waiting impatiently for the third season then seeing the new Avengers cartoon drop down. I noticed the designs were really different and everything looked...hideous. I thought maybe it was a case of American Dragon where the later seasons had shit designs and hideous lighting. Then I learned it was an entirely different cartoon that had become generic and uninteresting, with events like Hulk's attacks doing little-to-nothing (no tremors, no impacts), nothing being damaged, the heroes winning every single time with little-to-no effort...Uff. Then the spider man cartoon came out...Then Agents of Smash (what a disappointing piece of shit).
@Shin Shaman That's why I liked it. The MCU is too 'realistic' in the sense that they toned everything down and got rid of the magic elements and cool designs. They fucked over the Hulk: My favorite Marvel character.
This title really calls it! This whole show is indeed what I saw as another version of the MCU, and it deserves to exist as part of the Marvel multiverse
Another thing I want to point out is the whole universe this series is located in. DC has the DCAU, making series like BTAS, STAS, JL, JLU and Batman Beyond part of the same universe, everyone of them interconnected. This series is like that, forming some kind of animated universe. Wolverine & the X-Men, Avenger: EMH, Thor vs Hulk, Wolverine vs Hulk and Spectacular Spiderman (this one is still on debate, so you can count it as part of the universe or not depending of what you believe) are all interconnected. It may not be as obvious compared to the DCAU, but the planned third season of this series was finally going to give some big crossover with the X-Men´s series. So, for all Marvel fans, is the nearest thing to a connected animated universe, which is simply beautiful. This is my favorite cartoon ever. That´s why I´m also inspired for doing content about this marvelous universe. Thank you for also talking about it. This series deserves too much love.
@@AndreNitroX yes! In fact, the DCAU was one of the great inspirations for the series. Some spoilery examples can be: -Galactus finale compared to the Darkseid finale -Iron Man using his finger to defeat Purple Man like Superman defeated Gorilla Grodd with his finger -Some kind of recreation when the Avengers fight for the first time the Masters of Evil, like the League fought the Secret Society -Captain America entering to the barber shop with Fury references when Supergirl followed Lex Luthor to a barber shop. This universe is truly amazing. I love it.
I love a lot of Marvel animation. This show gave me a different take on the Avengers that I love. It expanded in ways the MCU could never do. In terms of more villains, more comic accurate aspects, actually including gamma radiated characters other than Bruce Banner, and crossovers with characters like the Fantastic Four, Wolverine, the Heroes for Hire, Spider-Man and more. I would love to have see this show connect with The Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men if the rest of them continued. I heard they were all going to connect in a way.
I should make a ranking of the best episodes, but I am like a father who loves all his children equally. Now speaking seriously, the Michael Korvac episode is very good and dark in my opinion, I was a bit traumatized in childhood of course, but it is fascinating how they adapted and modernized the classic saga
I can’t believe this is such a small channel! Glad I could be one of the first 1000 followers! Best of luck as you continue to grow, I have loved your content so far!!
Overall I would say the mcu holds more weight for me since I followed it all 10 years, but if EMH was let to continue I could easily see it topping the mcu especially if it kept the quality from the first two seasons.
100% that’s me. I’m a dc guy but no doubt that I grew up with marvel more eg Spider-Man 1994, spectacular, X men 1992 etc. The mcu is great but I have a few issues with it. EMH is what I call the avengers and the connection with other heroes just blend well without backstories if u know the characters well enough eg fantastic 4 introduction.
Man that OP takes me back. I remember people asking me if how I knew so much and if I read the comics. EMH really set me up to enjoying the MCU, not because it was Marvel, but because of it's cohesive, interconnected story telling. The writing, dare I say, rivaled Avatar TLA in achieving satisfying arcs for individual characters and the whole show
I know the feeling - I did my best to read as much as I could, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that a lot of my knowledge on Marvel lore came from this show when I was younger.
The thing thats so good about this show is how good it was at balancing classic Avengers storytelling, trimming a lot of the fat, and modernizing it, so that it could be appreciated by any audience, whether you are an MCU fan, a comic fan, or even just a casual viewer. All of the characterization is perfect, you have probably the best Hank Pym in anything, other than maybe the Avengers anime, which is also a hard recommend. Also this show has the best Kang story by far, and is definitely a great Primer for anyone who wants to learn about his character. The blend of the old with the new is what makes this show work so well.
I first became interested in EMH after hearing the awesome "Fight as One" song, along with the acompanying intro. So I ended up binging the show over the past couple weeks and was throughly entertained. It's simply a damn good series in all the ways that matter: Character, voice acting, tonal consistency, narrative stakes - it surprised me how the show just kept adding to itself while almost never dropping the ball. I also liked comparing it to the current MCU, and seeing what I felt each property did better. Among other things in EMH's favour, I appreciated the more faithful backstory of Ultron, the personality granted to Hulk (something the movies didn't fully explore until "Ragnarok"), and a depiction of Carol Danvers I frankly found more genuine and badass than her film counterpart. Simply put, I had a great time watching the show, and I'll do my best to make sure more people know about it.
I'm 34 years old and I started watching the show with my kids after seeing your video and I'm find it really interesting. Some of the story are better told in this show that in the MCU.
Wow, I'm really glad someone's watching it for the first time because of this video :D Stick with it - you can tell they had to rush the end of S2 slightly, but other than that it only gets better!
@Justin Gary Thank you brother for sharing this all with me. i am a born again christian, and i have a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. I enjoyed reading your essay here. I would love to discuss more with you in depth. thanks for sharing your instagram account.
I watched EMH a long time ago and made me a Marvel fan. I didn't grow up in comics, but this show and others made a huge impression on me, which made me a Marvel fan and an MCU fan.
There's also 2 comic runs that tie into the show. The 1st is 4 issues long, and the 2nd series is 18 issues long. The longer run has about 13 issues that are original stories, the rest just re-tell episodes from the show.
Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes is amongst Batman The Animated Series and the rest of the DCAU and Spectacular Spider-Man as one of the best superhero animations ever.
I loved this show cause it's a perfect balance between the MCU and the comics. For example: 1. The origin of the avengers in EMH is still similar to the comics, where Loki caused all of it (just as in the MCU too). 2. Jarvis here is an A.I., instead of a actual person like in the early comics (correct me if I'm wrong) 3. The tone of the GOTG (i prefer them in EMH vs MCU as I was first introduced to them in the comics) 4. Ms. Marvel starting out as Ms. Marvel and giving us the explanation why (inspired by the original Captain Marvel or Mar-Vell in EMH). And many more reasons i could get into. Glad you're doing these videos and hopefully with enough content out there, it will get Disney/Marvel to bring back the show. It had so much potential and stories that it could have explored (Surtur Saga, Korvac Saga, more cosmic like GOTG, Annihilus, etc). I've rewatched the entire show probably 7 times already ever since 2013 and i still can't get enough of it. Definitely the best of Marvel's animated content imo, so really hoping it comes back.
This show was really great. And that theme song was bangin' too. It's part of the reason I felt the MCU Ultron was so lackluster. I'd seen it done right in this show already and man, did they miss the mark in removing Hank Pym from the story arc. Anyway, great video! Well done.
I Love the way the show played out all the stories feel like it was planned for weeks and even months and each story feels unique and not repetitive I really wish that marvel will eventually make a season 3 even tho it might not ever happen
I would love to see EMH get a revival/continuation, but the chances of that happening are probably pretty low, if almost nonexistent. Yes, the chances of getting most of the original team for the show back together again don't seem likely currently, especially with what happened to them all when they were told the show was ending and after the series finale aired. Honestly, there are a lot of shows from around EMH's era I would like to see get a return, mostly because that seems to be the time when they really knew how to balance all the right elements for each show in the ways that mattered most for each individual series. With all that said, there is one thing I would like to say that a lot of people probably will think is off-topic, but chances are closer than most people realize. There needs to be a discussion about those older superheroes, and I just don't mean those heroes that are canonically from much earlier in the history of the world they inhabit. There is a hero that predates Captain America, Batman, Iron Man, Superman, and basically all the household names in superheroes today, in terms of publication, and in some cases even from a historical perspective. At some point, we are going to have to talk about the Phantom in serious discourse. The character of the Phantom codified and informed on the design and personality of quite a few of those household superheroes you can name off the top of your head. He's a character that can jump to relevancy no matter what era he's placed in because of how he's been structured but hasn't really had any new stories told in decades, both Marvel and DC did print a few of his stories way back when but some time afterward their retconning of their universes made it so that the character no officially exists in any of their continuties, and since the rights to the character are no longer in the hands of either company the chances of either ever printing another story with the Phantom are exceedingly low. There was a live-action Phantom movie back in the 1990s but it underperformed because of the climate for films based around superheroes at the time, I like to think if a new Phantom film were to be released in the current climate that it would do much better. Actually, I think the film from the 1990s has aged pretty well, aside from the 1990s era CG (which was thankfully used sparingly, it only shows up in 1 or 2 scenes, if I'm recalling things right), and probably could be considered a cult classic by modern standards. When talking about heroes, especially superheroes, it is important to discuss their histories on, and off, the page. And honestly, I think there needs to be more people bringing attention to those characters from way back when that a lot of people seem to forget or ignore.
My only concern with that, and this is my same concern with the upcoming X-Men ‘97, is that with modern sensibilities, a revival would not be as good as the original version.
Great video, in case anyone happens to see this comment and didn’t notice before, some of/most of the voice actors from EMH have come back recently to voice their same characters in the newer marvel game Marvel Future Revolution. A few examples are: Iron Man, Captain America, and Hank Pym
I know I had compared EMH to the DC Timmverse before, but your comment about how you can appreciate EMH as a sort of Marvel Time Capsule is also a big reason why the DC Animated Universe can be so interesting. It's a snapshot of what the general DC universe was like in the early 2000's. Before there were different lantern crops, Diana carrying a sword, or Cyborg becoming a member of the Justice League. lets you really appreciate how much their worlds had changed and what different ideas people had to retelling the same stories we love.
Please make as many videos as you can on this show because it’s so good this show is my childhood and I’ve rewatched it about three times since and is still one of the best pieces of superhero media out there keep doing what you’re mad and keep making more great content
Way ahead of you chief. This is a goated Marvel cartoon. It introduced the universe naturally, and had great character moments. Not to mention the all star cast for VA’s that became the go-tos for the avengers. I’m also glad that it had Jan and Hank as founding members, just like the comics. Which for some reason wasn’t done in the live action films. It was so good, so of course like other shows it was canceled before it hit the extra seasons it deserved. I’m glad people still talk about it, it deserves to be remembered. Cheers.
This Black Panther: an arbiter among the avengers as well as a super cool warrior king whose fighting is a lot more emphasis on dodging and precision hits instead of “hit hard & shoot hard” of the other Avengers is the reason why I couldn’t wait for Black Panther in the Civil War post credits scene! Also, MASTER CHIEF!
To be honest, this series had it all in characterization. It has my favorite interpretations of many characters like Hank Pym, Carol Danvers, Steve Rogers, and Bruce Banner (not the hulk).
I remember when this show came out and saw a few episodes but life, work and kids didn’t let me keep up….your videos has sparked my interest in revisiting the series Thanks
I remember watching this show in high school, and one of the first things I did after getting Disney+ was add it to my watchlist. This might just kickstart me rewatching the whole thing over again.
I watched this show when I was very young, so I didn't remember much about it, besides that it was good. One thing I did remember, however, is that I had a huge crush on Janet/Wasp. ...Still kinda do.
EMH was my first introduction to marvel. I was uncertain about the mcu at first because of the differences in looks and voice of the characters. Now, I love both, but I really wish EMH was continued.
Your on point, this was keyed up to agents of shield(abomination on ice) and a lot of the MCU now. I think there was alot pulled from this. Such a gd good show!
I watched EMH not too long ago. When the Skrull pretended to be Captain America, I remember thinking that this was why Kang thought Cap was the reason for the Kree destroying Earth.
Holly crud your channel blew up I’m so happy for you Great job dude Also 3:35 T-Posing Ultron is a pretty terrifying world threatening danger. P.s. 7:43 Also, I didn’t know Master Chief himself Steve Downes voiced Star Lord the first time I saw this episode!
Thank you! I'm having a hard time believing it's growing so fast myself :D edit: and T-posing Ultron is the biggest threat in all of Marvel. If MCU Ultron had T-posed, nothing could have stopped him
This show was my introduction to wider Marvel outside of the X-Men and Phase One of MCU. Now anytime anyone shows up in the MCU, my brain immediately goes "Like from Earth's Mightiest Heroes". It's the reason I was excited for AOU (only to be disappointed).
I’m late, but by gosh I cannot stop coming back to this series which I watched as a kid. I’ve enjoyed the MCU thoroughly, but this show just felt so consistent and the characters were always great. I love the MCU for what it brings as well, it’s tremendous, but EMH was always enjoyable. I know the 3rd season may never come out at this point, but I would 100% return to this show if it started airing again
I watched this a few weeks ago myself after finally getting around to binging the MCU and this was pretty good. It felt more like a comics storyline than anything in the MCU and I highly appreciated the interactions between the heroes. We never really got that in the MCU. They all do their own thing in the movies to the point where the Avengers movies are just them working together this one time as opposed them being a cohesive group like their comics counterparts are. Also, I ADORE this show’s Ant-Man and Wasp. Their dynamic is great. They’re so different from each other yet clearly cared about each other and their interests but still fought in realistic ways. None of it felt weird or stilted or forced for drama. Like, at the same time Wasp is worrying about Ant-Man looking her way, Ant-Man worries he isn’t interesting enough for her. He’s a scientist through and through whereas Wasp craves excitement and adventure. She never quit because she always loves being a hero but he does quit because he’d rather use science to help out and felt he did more damage trying to be someone he isn’t. It’s so fascinating. Just a shame it was all only two seasons. And that they rushed the Kree and Galactus storylines. Oh, and Skrulls are too OP.
Another great thing EMH does is throw you directly into the world. It wasn't built from the ground up, introducing each individual hero and villain with their own origin story. For the most part, there are no origin stories, just introductory stories. We see the world in its full with a plethora of heroes and villains already having existed long before the first episode. And when there are origin stories, they don't take too long with it. We get a quick rundown, then see what the character does moving forward. Carol doesn't have a big story with a personal villain to face off against right as she gets her powers. She gets her powers, she leaves to train with them for a bit, then returns a couple episodes later as Miss Marvel. The origins if these characters don't need to be a big scale story with a convenient villain for them to face off against at the beginning. If you look at the comics, usually the characters become the hero at the end of the first issue, then we jump ahead into smaller episodic stories for every issue. While I do love the movies, I do believe that comic book stories work better in a tv format. Even the big overarching comic stories span over multiple issues that can't fully be adapted into a movie runtime. And the animation allows for way more action, visuals, and cinematography than Live Action can pull off (shows like this, Spectacular Spider-man, Danny Phantom, etc. And movies like Into the Spider-verse, Big Hero 6, etc)
As a Boomer comics fan, I absolutely LOVED this show ^_^ For the first time, I got to see some of the most classic Avenger's story lines animated, alongside some of the newer story lines as well. I would even say they did 'Secret Invasion' better than the actual comics (replacing a major character, Captain America. Yes, all the audience knew he was a skrull, but seeing the Avengers [and even the bad guys] come to that conclusion was the fun part).
I nearly closed out the video with the theme, but I pulled that exact trick in the last video on EMH I made - the last thing I want is for people to get sick of it!

Facts 💯
It's the best and only version, period. Movie Pym has already lived his life so there's not much to explore. Comic Pym is an abomination that came to be because Marvel won't let go of the Slap, Ultron, and how it's all connected to Pym's insecurities.

What shows are connected to emh
This shows version of Carol Danvers was the first time I was introduced to the character and I really liked her in the show, so when captain marvel was announced to be in the MCU I was excited but was quickly disappointed with how they handled the character, I definitely think that EMH's version of Carol is the best take on Carol Danvers in the whole of marvel.
i felt the same. my hype was killed, still not sure what did it. but i know it was before the movie dropped.
At this point it seems like I find everything before Captain Marvel Carol enjoyable and now I am not fond of her.
ngl as a kid I kinda had a crush on carol
@@sub-zero5433 I did too don't worry, she was pretty hot in that show
@@IN-tm8mw brie did it. Everytime she opened her mouth lowered hype by several points
This show was Justice League/Unlimited level for me and just loved how close it actually was to the comics.
Spoiler: As of now this is my second watch of the show and I've notice more things. Not only the appearances of characters before they get more involved but lines of dialogue, especially things said by Hank Pym which help make his transition to yellow jacket make more sense. I really appreciate how planned out this show really was.
Exactly! There's so much foreshadowing the whole way through.

Love the Mar-vell episodes.
Somewhere if Jack Kirby could see the show he would be smiling with a cigar in his mouth
IMO I love EMH more than MCU because it felt like the comics but animated while the MCU was just adapting with modern standards
See the plots and the characters fro EMH are one to one with how the characters were in the comics, it felt like this was the peak of each character from their voices and their actions, to me this was who they actually were
But MCU took liberties and changed stuff from changing the love story of Hawkeye and black widow to Bruce banner and black widow (speaking of which tf did they do to hulk? That will always bother me)
EMC will be special to me because it just simply felt "true" to the marvel mythos
Your right, this show was a love letter to the comics and was so likeable, made me like even the most obscure of characters.
Funny, for the last week me and my and mom run out of marvel movies to watch in Dinner so then I remember "hey there was a really cool Avengers show that watch as a Kid", my Mother at first wasn't really into this show because she doesn't like Animated shows but then after the first 3 Episodes she Love It

E. M. H. version of hulk is probably my favourite incarnation of the character
There needs to be more recognition for this show- a revival might be impossible but I still haven’t given up!
Apparently some of the talent behind the show expressed interest in the idea of continuing it fairly recently, so fingers crossed!
@@PillarofGarbage Don't play with my feelings like that, where's the conf/evidence?

I agree completely!
I agree with you
The tighter continuity of EMH puts to shame the DCEU creators claim that the MCU's continuity is too burdensome.
A lot of people also put spectacular spiderman alongside emh and wolverine and the X-Men as some of the best marvel cartoons ever.
Funny how the more realistic looking cartoon was more cartoonish than this show
@Shin Shaman my brain couldn't process the decline in storytelling quality with the avengers assemble show.
@Shin Shaman That's why I liked it. The MCU is too 'realistic' in the sense that they toned everything down and got rid of the magic elements and cool designs. They fucked over the Hulk: My favorite Marvel character.
Is it me, but in the replacement show do the Male Avengers mess up and always have to be rescued by Black Widow?
@@thefurrybastard1964 your not wrong. its the standard make the female lead look good by making the male cast be idiots or evil.
Wow I never realized that this was the equivalent of the DCAU
@@AndreNitroX yes! In fact, the DCAU was one of the great inspirations for the series. Some spoilery examples can be:
-Galactus finale compared to the Darkseid finale
-Iron Man using his finger to defeat Purple Man like Superman defeated Gorilla Grodd with his finger
-Some kind of recreation when the Avengers fight for the first time the Masters of Evil, like the League fought the Secret Society
-Captain America entering to the barber shop with Fury references when Supergirl followed Lex Luthor to a barber shop.

Well agents of shield had a lot of comic book elements
I should make a ranking of the best episodes, but I am like a father who loves all his children equally. Now speaking seriously, the Michael Korvac episode is very good and dark in my opinion, I was a bit traumatized in childhood of course, but it is fascinating how they adapted and modernized the classic saga

I might probably get a spike to the head when I say this, but I honestly like Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes MORE then I do 90% of the MCU films.
You are not alone.
I wish MCU be more like EMH
@@Kaisar011 But that would imply for the MCU creators to read actual comics, then just look at few pages & be done with them.
I recently rewatched both seasons on Disney plus. It's only made my love for this show even stronger. So much about it is great
The thing thats so good about this show is how good it was at balancing classic Avengers storytelling, trimming a lot of the fat, and modernizing it, so that it could be appreciated by any audience, whether you are an MCU fan, a comic fan, or even just a casual viewer.
It also has a killer intro, that’s another reason why it’s good.
It really is a great show

I was an adult when I saw this and it was fucking brilliant. Best marvel media i've ever seen. Bless EMH.
I loved this show cause it's a perfect balance between the MCU and the comics. For example:
1. The origin of the avengers in EMH is still similar to the comics, where Loki caused all of it (just as in the MCU too).
2. Jarvis here is an A.I., instead of a actual person like in the early comics (correct me if I'm wrong)
3. The tone of the GOTG (i prefer them in EMH vs MCU as I was first introduced to them in the comics)
And let's not forget that this show had the greatest theme song in (at least western) animation history
Glad my comment was helpful! So glad people are talking about this show. :)
There is NOTHING like finding a new channel that you know will be fire for years to come. Subbed.

Nice review. EMH was the best Avengers cartoon attempt, most complete, most true to the source material.
Cheers.
Still my favorite piece of marvel content, so underrated. Thanks for talking about it

I know, right? I totally forgot he was in this show! I had kinda thought I might’ve been the only one here who recognized him… lol
Sadly the mcu version was done poorly
This has to be the best versions of the avengers on tv besides the MCU. Every character was done perfectly here.

I remember watching this show in high school, and one of the first things I did after getting Disney+ was add it to my watchlist. This might just kickstart me rewatching the whole thing over again.
So glad people are looking back on this series.
I watched this show when I was very young, so I didn't remember much about it, besides that it was good.
One thing I did remember, however, is that I had a huge crush on Janet/Wasp.
...Still kinda do.

The court finds the defendant guilty... and so am I
I watched this when I was younger and I absolutely loved it. Unbelievably well written.
This is actually in my top 5 favorite interpretations of marvel
I watched EMH not too long ago. When the Skrull pretended to be Captain America, I remember thinking that this was why Kang thought Cap was the reason for the Kree destroying Earth.
Holly crud your channel blew up
I’m so happy for you Great job dude
Also 3:35 T-Posing Ultron is a pretty terrifying world threatening danger.
P.s. 7:43 Also, I didn’t know Master Chief himself Steve Downes voiced Star Lord the first time I saw this episode!
Thank you! I'm having a hard time believing it's growing so fast myself :D
edit: and T-posing Ultron is the biggest threat in all of Marvel. If MCU Ultron had T-posed, nothing could have stopped him
@@PillarofGarbage very true
I watched this back when it was on Netflix, in like 2015. I've always loved it.
Another great video! i'm glad I subscribed after the ultron vid
I love the character designs so much
I just want once for #SaveAvngersEMH to trend on Twitter or something. Thank you for making this, this show is not talked about nearly enough!
I think people are hoping to get it trending on October 20th - I’ll make a video closer to the time about this though !
Did u know that Steve Downes the one who played Master Chief in Halo also played Starlord too.
This show was great. Panther, Hulk, Kang, Cap, Hawkeye, all were perfectly done. And that's just a few.
Chris Yost is very talented.
I watched this series 4/5 times at the time. Masterclass of adaptation, the first two seasons are perfect.
I finished re-watching the series a few months back! It’s truly the best avengers show so far even nowadays!
I completed the show and when it ended I was really sad not because there was a sad ending or so but it show was so good and wanted more to see
My comment was mentioned. Awesome!
As a Boomer comics fan, I absolutely LOVED this show ^_^
For the first time, I got to see some of the most classic Avenger's story lines animated, alongside some of the newer story lines as well.
I would even say they did 'Secret Invasion' better than the actual comics (replacing a major character, Captain America. Yes, all the audience knew he was a skrull, but seeing the Avengers [and even the bad guys] come to that conclusion was the fun part).
Keep up the good work. Really enjoyed your video!
Great video, still love this show... though you forgot to mention the awesome theme song!
Also, I want a Funko Pop of EMH Wasp.
I nearly closed out the video with the theme, but I pulled that exact trick in the last video on EMH I made - the last thing I want is for people to get sick of it!
This show has one of the best cinematic universes on tv. They really had so many comic book characters coexisting at the same time and it made sense.
Holy fuck I was not expecting Steve Downes as Star Lord. I'm sold.
