    I have this specific watch in stainless steel, it's my first watch. I'm a guy with slim wrists.
    I love this watch, it's the perfect dress watch for me. I wore it for formal occasions. It fits nicely into my sleeves and doesn't protrude too much.

    I'm a big Orient fan, and own four of them. Great quality and value. I'm not a fan of the open heart design, and find this watch a bit too thick. I'd also prefer an 18mm lug width. Honestly, with so many great Bambino models, if they reduced the diameter they'd have pure gold. Thanks for a great review!

    • @tiagodvt

      The Bambino has been around for years at 36mm (I own two of them). And a 38mm version was just released as well.

    Good lord that’s a stunner. I personally love open heart dials and the way they integrated the open heart into a dressy dial is as good as it gets here!

    When I first got into watches I honestly felt 42/22 was the smallest I could go with my 7-7/8" (20 cm) wrist. Over time my preference has gone down and down. I now feel between 40/20 or 38/20 is the perfect size for me. Hell, I even have a vintage 33/18 Hamilton that I pull out on special occasions. Now I only have one oversized watch, a Seiko Arnie.

    With a 6 1/4in wrist, I have always been a 40-42mm guy. Heck even 44-45mm has worked on my wrist(ie Casio). As long as the lug to lug fits within the range of your wrist width, virtually any case size up to that can work. In other words, wear what you want.

      Couldn't agree more, I love my G-Shocks but also love to put on an old vintage 31mm dress watch every now and then, and I have a 7-inch wrist

    Looks nice but the gold case looks cheap and chincy. Also the pseudo-Tourbillon cutout is also as lame as a real Tourbillon cutout. I do like the size though. Just picked up an old 34mm Hamilton Khaki Field Officer with an actual ETA movement. I have 7.25-7.5ish" wrists and it's not too small. Also , all the original Hamiltons and other mens watches were generally that size.

  • @Krauser1226

    Have had this in silver for around a year now and it might be my favorite watch on wrist. It gets a lot less wear since its my dress watch than my field, diver, or casio digitals, but when it does get worn, it's the one I like the most.

  • @dancraici2945
    @dancraici2945 2 года назад +1

    Through the open heart cutout in the dial you can see the balance wheel, not the mainspring. In my opinion, a partial cutout in the dial would benefit the wearer more if it would be placed over a skeletonized mainspring instead of the balance wheel... It would serve as an indication of power reserve. The most liked partial dial gage I've built so far has a cutout revealing a slice of both.

    Just got a Praesidus A-11 Origin, replica of a WWII issue, the original size version- 32mm. It looks and feels nice and compact, and purposeful, on my 6" wrist. Have also been wearing a 36mm Timex. I slipped on a 40mm watch today, and it felt and looked like a 'busy' dinner plate.

    I would absolutely wear that. I had always been a 40mm and up guy until I received my Dad's old beater quartz after he passed in 2014. It's a 36mm and after wearing it for a short time, I adjusted to the size and now I have no problem wearing smaller watches. I think it's more psychological than anything.

    • @PYRO200055412
      @PYRO200055412 2 года назад

      Glad you enjoy your Dad's old watch. 36mm is definitely not too small for men, unless you're a very small man. The 40+mm case is a modern phenomenon. Even with as many redundant complications that a modern mechanichal watch(Manual wind, auto or certified perpetual chronograph) may contain, a case has no reason to be larger than 44mm. I have a 34mm watch with a 4hrz 28k+ BPM automatic ETA movement that is incredibly thin and only occupies 35% of the case.

    I don't mind the open heart, I actually love it. It is perfect, save for one caveat: no "Lions" logo.
    That is why I am buying my wife the rose-gold 36mm Bambino for her birthday and our 15 year anniversary.
    This would have been even nicer, but the logo missing is the deal-breaker.
    Still awesome, still best bang for the buck though.

      @@mattroberts5283 this might be a hot take but I absolutely can't stand the hands on that watch. I much much much prefer calatrava style thicker dauphine hands. Some of the bambinos do have those type of hands tho, and I love them for it

    What a nice find. It's nice looking. The only kind of watch I don't have is a dress watch. 36mm is a good size for my slim wrist. The best part it is affordable. I only wear it for funerals and weddings so I don't want to invest much in an expensive watch I wear 1 or 2 times a year.

    The vibe is just not appealing to me. I own the Orient Contemporary Automatic/ Hand-Wind Black Dial Men's Watch AL00005B0. 42mm....It is a perfect size for my 7.25" wrist. It is hard to find now but I just love it. I upgraded it with a flat sapphire and could not be happier. It has the date at 3 spot and a day of the week sub-dial at 10 spot. I get more compliments with this dress watch than any of my watches. I'm almost 60 and have a few watches from back in the day and they seem so tiny now but are classy in their own right. Keep up the well-thoufht out material and hilarious delivery Jory. Udabest.

    I have an Orient AG03 open heart (AKA "Golden Eye"). It has a 38-39 mm diameter, it might be something to check out if you think 36 mm is to small and 40+ mm is to large. It comes with either a black, blue or silverish dial.

  • @sew_gal7340
    @sew_gal7340 9 месяцев назад

    I think for the classy ladies the 34mm would be much more dainty and elegant ...but for modern women they like to wear the larger dials. Personally I am of the former but i still love this watch so much, it just needs to be smaller

    I have some 31mm women’s watches that I’m comfortable wearing on my 7-inch wrist. I can wear 42mm watches comfortably (usually) but the little watches don’t look too weird despite the arguable transvestism, and they’re even more comfortable.

    I have never been a fan of open heart watches, and 12.5 mm seems just a bit thick for a 36 mm watch. I have to say the Bambino still has no competition in the Orient lineup. Having said that, when I need a stylish dress watch, I go for my 1959 vintage Omega Seamaster. It was my Dad's and is an original version of what all the modern homage dress watches are shooting for,

      Same wrist size here. I have a 39.7 ( DJ41 ) and it’s as small as I feel I can go. I have a 40 Tudor, two 41 Tudors, had a 43 Omega, a 44 Fleiger, and just got a 46.2 IWC a couple weeks ago. They all work. Anything smaller than the date just (vintage 36 and 34) look like buttons on my wrist.

    The phone too big for my hands/pockets crowd is also very vocal and very tight on their money so companies that listen to them generally fail. I imagine that is the same crowd for watches which is why Rolex ignores the request (just like Samsung does).

  • @tiagodvt

    I already knew this model exists. It's cool, but I genuinely prefer the Bambinos in 36mm or the newer models in 38. I simply don't like the roman numerals at 12 and 6 and I don't like the sides of the case for this particular style of watch - I prefer the style of the Bambinos with thinner sides and the domed crystal. BUT still, it's a great watch and looks are always subjective. Quality-wise, they are probably the same as the Bambinos.

  • @nitsan

    Hey TT. As a fellow cat lover. I'd love to see a video from you about the leather industry. I recently learned that with China being the world's biggest producer of leather, there's a huge amount of leather that's actually cats and dogs. Of course none of it is marked that way because almost no one in the west would knowingly buy it. And there's an estimated 2 million cats and dogs that are raised just for their skin since it's so profitable. And it's pretty much the most horrific industry on the planet. I don't even recommend you look at any of the videos because it's just ... I don't even know what word can describe it. Maybe just read the info and avoid the photos etc. I can't look at that stuff anymore. Anyways. I thought it would be good if someone with a big audience spoke about it. Thanks for the great content. You always make me laugh.

    Not a fan of open-heart watches in general, and I find this model too thick and chunky for its diameter. The Orient "Tristar" Deneb (39mm) and Altair (39.5mm) are, in my mind, the most underrated Orient dress watches.
