A quick note on watch crunch. Im autistic and when I releaved this on watch crunch a user started creating new accounts to bully me. Watch crunch staff did nothing despite me reporting. I reached out to Max several times and he didn't even respond. I'll never use watch crunch or watch any of Max's videos again.
No they are not, you just got used to grey market prices at a time when the grey market was flooded because watch buying dipped. Now thanks to Social media watches are more popular however marketing and customer acquisition cost is expensive not to mention all around inflation globally and lastly these watch brands have to go upmarket to distance themselves from fashion watches / smart watches. Just wait to buy something on sale a year or two after release if you think it’s ‘crazy’
I appreciate the nuance on the crystal aspect. Not only does it help me judge the watch in question, but makes me a more informed customer in regards to other watches as well.
I bought a Kamasu recently because of channels like yours. It's an amazing watch for the price and I threw a nato strap on it. It makes me happy every time I look at it, and it was a fair price.
$400 is insane. Also wish Orient would try to compete with the marlin and make a smaller ~35mm manual wind, no date bambino line. Would be great for their vintage vibe
Excellent take, I would love a good mechanical 35-36mm watch with that vintage look it would be a very elegant piece and I'm sure they would make more than alot sells on it
What amazes me are the Roman numerals. I am not a big fan of cluttering a dial using these numerals but using 6 numbers seems to work except for 4. As much as I am aware the number 4 in Roman numerals is IV so having IIII is incorrect. The dial look will improve a little too. And the size is much better as I have an 18 cm wrist (7"). The black watch with the white seconds dial is my favourite in this four watch selection. It's a big yes from me.
What I don’t like is that it’s price is significantly lower in Japan than in Thailand despite being made in Thailand (the factory is literally a few drives from where I am).
TUS watches are excellent for Orient. Got a great deal on a Star diver and the customer service is outstanding. Best deal I got was a £600 M-force for £165 on Amazon warehouse. The higher end models are all made in Japan.
I bought mine for $250 WITH a watch winder. I was thinking about the silver model but it was sold out. Ended up picking up the gold version, and oh man, never have I ever been more stunned by a watch dial before. Totally worth it!
Kudos on the comments about the crystal. Unpopular opinion in these parts, but I'm completely fine with the date window. It's useful and unobtrusive, especially on the white dial. The white version with blue hands looks fantastic on a navy blue strap.
looks great, I definitely like Orient's logo. As far as the crystal goes, while I used to demand Sapphire, I now think acrylic actually looks the best and it's especially great if you want a cheaper watch
A no date version will need them to upgrade the movement to the seemingly more expensive F6B24 movement then maybe having to mess around with the case to make this movement fit. They could just not have a date window and make the wearer have to deal with a ghost position. These things sell so well that I don't imagine Orient feel they need to change anything right now but I do agree that it would look a lot better without the date on the dial
In my opinion, these watches have no right to look this good. I absolutely adore the gold version, and the black one is gorgeous too. Small secods just suits dress watches much better than center seconds for me. If I was in the market for a Bambino, I'd buy this is a heartbeat. The higher price does not bother me, Orient deserve to be paid more for such great products. Like you said, Ben, I also would prefer a no-date dial. Also, I'd get rid of the display back, not the most attractive movement. But overall, a fantastic package.
Thanks for the nice review Ben! I actually prefer the design of the original small seconds Bambino. Cleaner, with more of a mid-century vibe. Just wish that version came in a 38.
I do like this, but I'm more than happy with my preferred Golden eye. What are your thoughts on SWC's new logo btw? personally I like it. I find the move to Thailand very interesting. if more brands follow suit, combined with Wise, Thailand might become a big player in the watch industry
Would be nice if Seiko group, once a millennium, had some real design chops and released a no-date automatic. How much MORE expensive and bold would this look without that mandatory date window? I'll keep shifting my pennies to Ali Express where they get it....
Orient are great value, but they seem to have raised their prices by 30% across the board. TUS sold me my Mako III for for £244 in May 2023 and they now price it at £361, which I feel is more than the effects of inflation. They're still worth it though.
How is the cream dial your least favourite????? It's by far the nicest looking one, it looks like a watch from a history book ,it's not so dressy, it's like an adventure.
Despite my watches are from high end brands like JLC, Cartier, and Rolex. Orient will always have my heart. I hope they will make a Gold version with no date, stick markers, and champagne dial. Still hoping.
For me, the perfect small seconds would be the original bambino small seconds but in a 34-38mm case. The cream dial is just... i dont know... different from others bambinos
My grandad gave me his watch. It’s vintage and wondered if you know anything about them. It’s called west end watch sowar prima, and has green emeralds
Why would anybody think that taking a second-hand off and replacing it with additional clutter on the face of the watch is superior, I don't understand.
The thing about Orient is the faux discounts. Every time I check the model, it is almost always going to be discounted. I do see issue there, despite this practice not being as, say, egregious as Invicta or Sturhling.
I purchased but then sold a gradient dial Kamasu a while back precisely due to the highly noticeable rotor noise upon light wrist movement. It felt and sounded like the old wind-up rubber band propellers on toy balsa wood airplane gliders that you would toss in the air. I guess the Orient engineers need hearing aids.
Being an owner of the 40mm i can say that the new one is tooo much like everything else. The tall glass bambino is the most distinctive bambino and i love that. This one looks like its pretending to be swiss and i am sorry , THAT is a bad thing for fans and the brand
I gotta say you get more for your dollar with a Sugess, Baltany or San Martin. I have the original Bambino, similar to this buy without sub seconds. What really bothers me about this dial is the 2 sets of minute markers. It kills it for me.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the AMZWATCH has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
Thanks for the review.... beautiful watches.. but $500+ Aud? Hard no, for a couple hundred more I can get a cocktail time Presage or even better the new Citizen Zenshin's which have better specs.
Back in the heyday of Singapore's finest resellers, I could barely muster any interest at £80. And now they want what? Presumably Orient is selling at RRP elsewhere in the world, but they're surely not in Europe. As a JDM fan, it's an odd occasion when I say that we've been reprieved. The Japanese watchcos really do need to try harder in the non-domestic markets. Maybe they've just given up to smart watch competition.
Take the Orient label off and put exotic name on it and it turns into a $1k watch if not more. So much is in the label. Same is true of Some Padek Steel watches. Some of their watches look like department store watches. It is only the label that sells it.
Not a fan of the painted embossed indices, which look like they are trying to fake applied indices. I think it would be cleaner to just make them flat and remove some of the extra unnecessary indice text and lines around the perimeter. No need to busy up a watch like that, and especially no reason to have a watch show info with no useful purpose.

Ben, you didn't talk about the black dial? What's your opinion of the black dial?
The price tag on orient and seikos these days is crazy
They're both moving upmarket. I blame Americans for mocking orient and Seiko so much
I restore vintage seiko and if anything they’ve been underpriced for years.
Lol they aren't going upmarket cause people make fun of them. They are doing it out of greed @@AndreiGeorgescu-j9p

Gave my dad a 40mm Bambino Bauhaus and my mother a 32mm Contemporary. We all love Orient!

what's other watches provide what Orient provides at this price range? genuinely asking
You can get all 4 of these for $280
Another brilliant, professional review. Thank you Ben, well done.
I really wish we had the Bauhaus style in these new dimensions. For me that was the better Bambino dial.
I paid $115 for my last Bambino. Crazy how much the prices have gone up.
Semi-related: I recently bought one of the Mako Sport models (the purple dial one) and I LOVE it. Amazing value for money.
Nice to see a company, even one I don't GAF about, listening to the community.

Orient is excellent. Love my 38mm cream dial bambino.
I have the same one too, it's gorgeous and even if the honeymoon is long gone, I still feel warmth when it rests on my hand

The white version with blue hands looks fantastic on a navy blue strap.
Love at first sight, I ordered the black face version of this watch before your video ended.
I like date watches. If I’m going to spend money for a watch, I want it to show me the date, and I do use it often.
Still waiting for a 36mm or smaller version
In the meantime maybe borrow your wife’s or sister’s?
Keep waiting. They have very little under 40mm
Work out and eat more and grow that chicken wrist
If you’re a woman, I understand
But as a man saying “waiting for a 36mm” is somewhat laughable. Eat, work out and grow those twigs

This is easily the best Orient Bambino version for me and it's not close, and maybe even the BEST Orient overall.
What do you use to shave your head? It looks like you use a ultra reflective coating
looks great, I definitely like Orient's logo. As far as the crystal goes, while I used to demand Sapphire, I now think acrylic actually looks the best and it's especially great if you want a cheaper watch
Has the original small seconds and loved it but for the size. Bring back that design (3,6,9,12) in 38, and I’d get it.
Black dial looks so good! 🔥
Here V7 are being sold for $250 in discount.
The Hands are a litle bit to short. The watch looks great. I would prefer the 3 hands 38mm version in gold. Good review thx👍🏻

I like the dial 40 mm dial with 3 6 9 Arabic markers but obviously like this size better
NO DATE! No date will be the ultimate!

I do like that black dial, silver subdial variant. Maybe if it ever drops to the $250 CAD price point at some point in future....
got it. Love it. worth every penny!
Really like the gold. Beautiful watch.
I’ve been waiting for the bambino in 38mm with the same dial as the 40mm v2
Would look even better as a pointer date.
I'm genuinely impressed with how close AMZWATCH were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
These strike me much more as an everyday piece, rather than dress watch, so wear them more often!
Would love if you reviewed the kartel watches from Scotland!

I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of MAMACOO. Their watches are of exceptional quality.

hi ben
thanks for the brilliant review.
what is the diffrence between RN-AP0104S and AP0104S30B ?
thanks
Wow, professional review
For me, the perfect small seconds would be the original bambino small seconds but in a 34-38mm case. The cream dial is just... i dont know... different from others bambinos
I need to size a bracelet on my Bulova Men's Modern - 97D120. Can anyone tell me what type of pins are in the bracelet? Is it pin and collar?
Meanwhile , Bambino V2 in Hong Kong where I am from , is as low as 120 pound or even lower. I have seen ones under 110 pound new.
My grandad gave me his watch. It’s vintage and wondered if you know anything about them. It’s called west end watch sowar prima, and has green emeralds
So, Orient Black Raven-II diver with 200 m water resistance I bought for $180 two years ago, why has it so much more value than Bambino?
Why would anybody think that taking a second-hand off and replacing it with additional clutter on the face of the watch is superior, I don't understand.
The thing about Orient is the faux discounts. Every time I check the model, it is almost always going to be discounted. I do see issue there, despite this practice not being as, say, egregious as Invicta or Sturhling.
5 hours later, they're already available for $275 on Amazon, nice
I'm looking to get the Orient Bambino version 7. 38mm, white face, black band.
That rotor is really loud. I wonder if they’ll make these in a manual wind.
How is the gold done? Because it's stainless steel of course?
I thought erubus was Jody from just one more watch? Not Australian?
I think the glass of this watch is not sapphire, also the water resistance is quite low at 3 atm, then it would be great.
I have 38 watches and I like all of them but Orient is my favorite because they are priced right and are great watches.
I just paid $220 for the beige Bambino a couple days ago (no small seconds dial).
Being an owner of the 40mm i can say that the new one is tooo much like everything else. The tall glass bambino is the most distinctive bambino and i love that. This one looks like its pretending to be swiss and i am sorry , THAT is a bad thing for fans and the brand
what macro lens do you use on your camera?
40.5 case dress watch… yea they ruined it
feels like orient could be charging far more tbh
Orient logo is not bad and I bet would be better with out the word “Automatic”
The only thing I dont like about my Orient is that the crystal is too reflective.
I've observed the same on a few of their flat sapphire crystal models. Could do with a different AR coating for sure
@@BensWatchClub let’s get real; those coatings are ugly. they look like an oil slick and detract from the dial.
@@MrMadvillanar coating in general or orient's
I have a bambino from about 8 years ago but as you say alliexpress are on their heals
Was keen on one of these but no sapphire and crap water resistance sent me to steelflier......
What’s the model at 0:28?
well... prices rise thanks to all of you, promotors

Nice watch, but the blue painted hands look very cheap.
Отличный обзор! Очень интересная модель. Давно хочу приобрести bambino. Может быть, эту версию выбрать?
I have a suggestion please do a review on TITAN watches. All ranges
Titan avaliable in Europe and usa?
The Orient logo looks like something that belongs on a cigarette carton, not a watch.
Made in Thailand
And funny thing is that it cost more in Thailand than it is in Japan.
I like how Japanese companies take decoupling from China seriously.
Is "IIII" a roman numeral? Not sure why most roman numeral watches have an incorrect roman numeral 4 and not the proper IV.
Look into it and you will find out, I did and now I understand, and agree with it.
Thanks for the review.... beautiful watches.. but $500+ Aud? Hard no, for a couple hundred more I can get a cocktail time Presage or even better the new Citizen Zenshin's which have better specs.
I like it, but you can get a Perpetual SC-03 for half the price
Besides, there is no sapphire crystal and this domed mineral crystal pratically asks for scratches
Back in the heyday of Singapore's finest resellers, I could barely muster any interest at £80. And now they want what? Steel watches. Some of their watches look like department store watches. It is only the label that sells it.
I love my v2, but an extra hundred bucks for a slightly smaller case? No way.
Why is the 4 o'clock 4 I lines instead of IV??? This just bugs me...
So as not to confuse people with the 6 numeral VI.
Known as "the Clockmaker's Four." Pretty much only seen on clocks and watches. Always bugged me, too.
I paid 115 a couple yrs ago and it doesn't say THAILAND on the back. Mine says JAPAN. Not buying anything that says THAILAND on it.
V1 for me thanks. Still a great watch though....
Awesome review. Thanks. Too expensive. And no sapphire? And a loud movement? Maybe it’s meant to be used as an alarm? 😂 What is Orient thinking?
I think what this watch is missing is a sapphire crystal, then it would be amazing.
Why is EPSON written on the case back though
Because Orient is owned by the Seiko-Epson corporation.
Love the gold bambino, but it dies because of 30 wr, no sapphire and 400$.
“Similarly priced Chinese made watches”
-shows the Erebus Ascent 😂
If it was up to me, every watch would come with a date window!
