I disagree on your opinion regarding the raised Orient logo on the dial. I feel like the dial is exceptionally clean throughout and the logo adds a level of regality to the the over all look. If it was minimized any more or removed, the dial would look too plain in my opinion. It is one of my favourite in my collection and I wear it quite often. It’s an exceptional quality watch for an incredible price.
Touché guys. Totally agree. That's one of the best features of Orient watches... Other than their specs, in-house movement, WR (for the drive-style watch series), decent lume, clicky bezels, etc... But I digress... I've been looking at the Gen 2 ver 2 for the longest time now... 😁
Honestly if you don’t wear a dress watch a lot or don’t dress up much, this watch is a perfect watch for any collection. Even if you have more expensive watches but they are too sporty for formal wear this watch will be a perfect fill in for the few times you may need a dress watch. Then you won’t feel guilty for owning a watch you don’t wear much and you won’t be that guy with a big sports watch on with a suit. Love this watch and now it’s in the perfect size!
Hi, I like this watch very much but a mineral glass on this is a serious let down. I am considering a Tissot gentleman in brown strap and silver dail with quartz movement. What you say I shall wear this on formal dress and for my wrist size its 6.5 inches..
@@Knowledgeseeker70 it’s a dress watch, mineral glass is more than enough. I’d say that Tissot is probably going to look huge on your wrist. I’d go for this over that.
Couldn't agree more in terms of owing for the few times of the year you need to dress up. I wish finances would allow me to purchase a Longines heritage flagship which is obviously better quality but almost five times the price. I have owned Orient watches before, the rough winding and loud rotars put me off. This new size is a little hard to resist.
@@Knowledgeseeker70I feel like people get a little too into really minor specifications like water resistance and crystal. How often are you going to enough extremes that you need 200m of water resistance and a sapphire crystal (I know you didn't mention water resistance, I'm just commenting on the general theme of spec hunting). While I agree it would be nice, you have to consider that for making a watch with this level of design and finishing WITH an in house movement for less than $200 when on sale you can't really complain about anything spec wise because imo that's just asking for too much at this price point, if you want this level of watch with the additional specs you'll prob have to hunt around the $500 mark

@@watchingbrief7072 I love both bambino and seiko. According to my experience with both, bambino movements are a bit more accurate and includes stuff like hand-winding and hacking which seiko watches lack for the same price. Seiko entry level movements are quieter than bambino’s though.
Max, I randomly viewed this video and am impressed. Humor and useful content. I've the Earth MoonSwatch and enjoy it for what it is an inexpensive novelty item. Several years ago I got an authentic Seagull 1963 38mm chrono. It cost the same as the Swatch moonswatch and is a lovely well made watch. There are many great watches out there for not a lot of money. New subscriber. Keep up the great work!
Great topic! I think a lot of people buy cheap AE Rolex knock-offs in this price range instead of looking for more original pieces. To stick with Chronographs, Nezumi and Roue make excellent mecaquartz pieces for around the same money as a Moonswatch. They aren’t perfect, but they are amazing value for the level of spec and design you get.
I am one of those people who am recovering from AE rolex knock offs. Those watches really make you question how important originality is to you. They are just made SO much better than many original watches in the category. But... I sold those watches, and am starting an affordable 3 watch collection. I've got 2 down and 1 to go: seiko srpe55 and the cream dial bambino featured in this video. Enjoying them so far
I recently got a gold case white dial 36mm bambino for women. And changed a strap to a 18mm wide leather strap. (Lug width is 17mm) Very satisfying purchase. Orient should’ve kept it going
Out of my 30+ watch collection, my Bambino ver 7 is the watch I wear the most often. I just love the beige dial and its simplicity. And mine came at +3 sec/day on timegraph... not too shaby.
Citizen's Brycen line and a couple discontinued lines that you can get, have a couple chronos that will last years .Let's not forget the Bulova Luna Pilot, that is supposed to come out in 43mm. There are so many options where you can get something to wear for a very long time.
Citizen chandler chronograph if you want a chronograph. They’re discontinued but you can still pick them up for well under $200. They’re quartz and can only time up to 1 hour but they’re 39mm and have pretty nice lume. I would pick they over a moonswarch.
Citizen NY0040, perfect daily driver, have been wearing one for the past five years without any problem. From the city to the sea. It is kind of a perfect watch for the money
You don't have to go so far to beat the Moon, any Casio will do it for a fraction of the money. I enjoy my Bambino a lot, and this new one seems to be even better.
Good review, just subscribed. I have two Bambinos in 40mm. Looking forward to getting one in 38mm. However this model cost more than what I paid for the other Bambinos!
Quite easy to get any of the MoonSwatches from the Swatch stores in London now. Sometimes a queue, but not long and plenty of stock apparently, especially if you can get in during the week. One of the store workers told me that Swatch is building up much larger stock levels for Christmas. Cool if you want one I guess. I'd much rather have one of the watches in this video!
Nice review of the Bambino. Just started the comparison with a Moonswatch is simply out of context. Both watches have different niches and use. I guess it is a bit of clickbait, and that is understanable 😏
I need a elegant looking gold plated dress watch similiar to the bambino but ohters welcome also with white/creme/offwhite dial, diameter 37-38mm, preferably saphire cristal if possible for under 300 dollars? Does such watch exist or is this bambino the best option? I need it for architecture office and movement is not so important to me (quartz and meachnic is both okay). elegance is important.
30M water resistance means it was tested to 30M water pressure, you can go swimming with it no issue. (Like I already have, including dropping it to the bottom of the pool for half an hour, timed with a Speedmaster of course XD).
