We finally play some Marvel Villainous! Now currently, the villain roster for this game is not as plentiful as Disney, but there's still some great villains and matchups to play! Comment below with a matchup you'd love us to try in Marvel Villainous!
36:12 Only on infinity stone can ever be attached to an ally, including Thanos' allies And, when an ally is in event, that ally can't be relocate to another place. That ally stay in the event until the event is resolved successfully
Would love to see more Marvel Villainous gameplay on the channel! Or even Star Wars Villainous since that’s coming out soon. I’m looking to get both games soon because I love Disney Villainous and am a huge fan of Marvel and Star Wars
8:53. You cannot fate yourself unless via Avengers Assemble. 12:41. Not sure if on purpose on or not, but probably smart you didn't....you skipped the 2nd half of Consult the Well. 15:10. You can have multiple global events in play. It's a difficulty thing players should agree on at the start of the game. pg 13 17:20. Death's Favor was "errata'd" to just add one of those icons of your choosing to its location. You do not need to choose or take that action when you move there. 25:36. A stone is found gets discarded in a 2p game if the non-Thanos player draws it off a regular fate action. Also, only 1 stone per ally. 27:54. Dudes, we've all been there, believe me. Don't sweat it. Thanos player has had the absolute worst early game I have ever seen btw. Hang in there! 31:30. Thanos discards A stone is found if drawn via Avengers Assemble. 31:42. An ally that does not currently have a stone. 35:52. Needed a new ally for that stone. Only 1 stone should have been attached to Maw. 1:16.44 Some people say Thanos cannot vanquish allies that are not holding a stone. I'm still up in the air on this one. 1:18.28 Yes 1:20.38 Hela's Bidding is only one per turn, meaning after Hela draws up for the turn, and another player vanquishes 10 characters in their realm all with soul marks, Hela only gets 3 power. That specialty does not "refresh" until Hela's next turn. Meaning in a 4p game with soul marks everywhere. She can only get 3 per turn. 1:25.07 Defeat is defeat, not vanquish. Black Dwarf should have stayed. Tip for Hela player regarding that game. With that many heros in play with Avengers Assemble AND Conquer Valhalla. Your objective at that point should be to clear Conquer Valhalla and Avengers Assemble immediately. Welcome to Marvel Villainous!
1️⃣ - Thanks for pointing that out about the Fate Actions! Note made in description! 2️⃣ - Yes it was on purpose that I did not choose to utilize the second half of Consult the Well. I had thought about it, but with Midgard Serpent there, did not want to lose Ebony Maw that early in the game. 3️⃣ - Ok so I guess you are correct! I was merely reading from the rulebook where I found that. Idk if I'd want to play with more than 1 global event in play 😬 4️⃣ - Where did you find that information about Death's Favor being errata'd? I don't see anything on the Marvel Villainous Wiki, and the only thing I've found is a post from the publisher on a thread on BGG where they state "Think of Death's Favor as adding either the activate or vanquish icons to that location. You do not have to decide which action to use before performing one of the other actions. 🙂" That doesn't provide any clarification for me 🤣😂 If you have something more I'd definitely be interested to hear! 5️⃣ - I do see now that it is stated on the Marvel Villainous Wiki that only 1 stone per ally. Do you know if that has been confirmed by Ravensburger? From what I could find, that information was not stated in the rulebook nor was it stated in Thanos' villain guide. Same question with "A Stone if Found." I do see that that info is on the Wiki, but is this confirmed from Ravensburger, or just something that the community came up with? 6️⃣ - THANKS! 😂🤣😂🤣 I'll have to admit, I did have a little bit of fun adding that in post! And yes, man that early game was so terrible! 7️⃣ - I do see that I missed that from Thanos's villain guide! Thanks! 8️⃣ - See 5. 9️⃣ - See 5. 🔟 - See 5. 1️⃣1️⃣ - As with many rules and interactions, the answer seems to be up in the air and left up to players interpretations 😅 1️⃣2️⃣ - As far as playing allies directly to the Sacrifices must be made event, It makes sense to do that, HOWEVER, I was really utilizing the event as a way to just straight cycle through my deck to find cards that I needed to play and just ditch the ones that I didn't need at the moment. So I was trying to "play around" the event, as it were. 1️⃣3️⃣ - Where do you see that info about "Hela's Bidding?" I'm not seeing anything in the rulebook, Hela's villain guide, or even the wiki about that. 1️⃣4️⃣ - Yes you're right, I didn't think about the wording of defeat and not vanquish! Whew!! That was a lot! Thanks so much for pointing all that out. If you could let us know with some of these questions, some of the information I find on wikis that doesn't make immediate sense to us, we typically question as we know wikis aren't "official" sources. But, as with most things, the more information the better! Thanks again!
@@hobbiesnhappiness Also for Hela, she needs at least one soul mark as part of her requirements to win. She cannot win with just 8 allies. That's another buried ruling somewhere on BGG.
How many specialty cards are you allowed to have? Like speaking for hela she has 2 specialty cards is she allowed to have both in her specialty area or just one at a time?
I played the matchup last night. I would play well of souls to send ebony maw to an opponent’s domain. If you have your cards stacked right, you can vanquish with him, and then relocate back to your domain with a stone.
Reading some of the comments regarding rules, I guess my thought is a game that requires this much searching online for rules doesn't seem like a game that was ready for prime time. The rulebook that comes with the game should include everything you need.
100% agree. I’ve been saying this for a while. I own the game and have watched several videos on play through and every video has multiple corrections. The rule book should be re-written with far more depth and answers to common issues. I love the game but find most play through are simply self interpreted which makes me wonder if the person who won actually won….🤣🤷♂️
So when thanos uses the activate ability when he has for, example 4 stones in his domain, he can only activate one stone per turn? Me and some friends thought it meant when he does use activate, all stones can be used that is in his domain for that one turn.
Glad to see Marvel Villainous hit the table! Initially I really didn't like it compared to Disney, but I grew to like it more after getting familiar with the characters. I do find it plays best with 3+ players, especially with the shared fate deck and more player interaction. Interested to hear more of your thoughts on the shared fate deck with more plays. With drawing only one card per fate, the chances of getting a whiff are higher, so it seems more difficult to stop an opponents progress later in the game, where Disney seems pretty reliable with fating since the cards are all tailored toward the player being fated, plus you get 2 cards per fate. Also regarding the events, I think it's the one aspect I'm just really not a fan of. If 1 player gets their targeted event while others don't, it seems really unfair. Also Avengers Assemble seems to just break the game lol. For the rest of the regular events, it seems like we always just continue playing while ignoring them, and it results in a really long game. Looking forward to more!
I (Dan) felt the same way about Marvel initially! I hated it! 😂 After a few more plays, idk what happened, it just really clicked for me and I really fell more in love with it! I do like the adaptability of the shared fate deck, meaning if you don't want to play with events, just take the events out of the deck! Overall, we just really enjoy the game being more interactible between players, ie. having each others allies in other heroes realms. Appreciate the comment and thoughts!
My wife and I make three separate fate decks. Hers, mine, and then the shared characters. You pull on from the opponents specific deck and one from the shared deck. Then you get to choose one to play. The oppenent may opt to play the second one against themselves if they want.
True. To be honest, Jim was most likely getting to that point where he didn't want to be thinking too much more and just put Gamora down somewhere within his realm 😂🤣😂
@@hobbiesnhappiness That is true. MarVil is a lot of thinking. Getting events early with 2 people is hard. It is a lot more fun with more people cause you can get those cleared quicker and reap the rewards

I love that you guy's show the cards up close, super imposed.
Appreciate that!

Oh man I can't believe you got avengers assemble the first turn, that's brutal but I'm glad you guys are playing it! Love watching your videos!
It was so brutal! We at least had a really fun time with the game, so always an upside! 😂 Appreciate the love and support!
Oh my gosh , me and my friends just got the game recently and we have been playing it soooo wrong haha . Thank you so much for this video !!

Fun gameplay as always. I do see Gargoyles on the shelf. Hoping to see that gameplay too (Goliath and Broadway :) )
We hope to get that out on the table at some point!
Very good video, you guys are so cool
When Thanos draws “A stone is found” it is discarded!

Thank you for playing. Huge Marvel Nerd.
Looking forward when you play Ultron, Killmonger, and Taskmaster
Mischief and Malice Expansion.

Yeah we caught very late
25:49 I believe the rulebook states that no character other than Thanos can wield two infinity stones
What is that mat you are playing on? Looks great.
Would like to see a how to play magic or a play through of magic
😏 Plans are being made...

I'm pretty sure you are only allowed to claim one stone per character...
Correct. As with a lot of these rules, we discovered this after the fact 😂😂
Gamora should have been placed in thano's domain because you forgot to fate yourself via Avengers Assemble :)
Wait....we don't mistakes...so there's no way Gamora would come into Thano's domain...
...
....🤣🤫
Music is a bit loud
Yeah tried some different music on this one, and it turned out a bit loud. Just some experimenting and at least learned something 😀
I thought as soon as you played an activation from your deck that isn't a specialty card it's discarded. Was I wrong?
I'm not sure I understand the question. Can you give me an example?
@hobbiesnhappiness never mind I thought Deaths Favor was an effect not an item.
you could of used Gamora to defeat the HULK or Ebony Maw!
True. To be honest, Jim was most likely getting to that point where he didn't want to be thinking too much more and just put Gamora down somewhere within his realm 😂🤣😂
