Thanks to @jefferson Silva Luna for today's matchup suggestion! These are some of our favorite villains to play so we're glad we had the opportunity to get them onto the table! Do you have some villains you want to see us play on the channel? Let us know, and we'll be sure to get those matchups done!
Thank you for taking my order, you guys are awesome! I loved the video was a great gameplay of Lady Tremaine vs Evil Queen. It was a very competitive fight that you two really enjoyed! But in the end Lady Tremaine was victorious. In the next video of Villainous can bring Hades vs Doctor Facilier it will be mass vlw.
Another rules clarification. When you play the ingredients for Evil Queen, after the first copy of the ingredient, they do go into the discard pile. There should only ever be the four ingredients under the board. This is important because you can draw into them over and over again.
Just on a side note: I believe if you use activate on the Queen’s Throne you are able to take a power from the supply to make into poison instead of converting your own power.
We added this information to the description of the video, so that way folks watching will hopefully see that we corrected it and will play the card the right way! Thanks again!
Awesome game! That was so much fun to watch! Great match up choices! I really appreciate and like that you put the Important Rules and Card Interactions in the description box and also having the cards show up on screen. GG to you both!
Hello! I just wanted to point out that in the rulebook page 9, the paragraph that explains the effects it states that in order to play an effect you must be able to do what it says, otherwise you can't play that effect. Thus, in 12:25 you cannot choose Sweet Nightingale card to be played. Thanks for reading me! :)
This has been clarified as not true. While it isn’t the rule book itself, if you look up the wiki (which is generally deemed as official) and search Vicious Practical Jokes you can actually choose an effect even if it does not apply.
I just started watch your gameplay videos. They are fun to watch. You should try a match of your worst characters. Also can’t wait to see if/when you put Star Wars Villainous on your channel.
At working watching this video and totally laughed out loud when you were explaining Evil queen and mentioned trapping Cinderella instead of Snow White. Really enjoying your gameplay videos. Please do Marvel as well.
Not sure I follow? On Turn 3 Jim gained his 3 power from moving to The Mine, and Dan gained his 1 power from moving to The Castle. Otherwise, I think it's matchup dependent on when you want to gain your power. Some Villains care about how much power their opponents have, so if you're playing against a villain like that (Prince John is a good example), it's always a good idea to try and stay under that threshold if possible (for Prince John that threshold is 6).
One match up I would like to see is Cruella vs Horned King. I think at equal power levels, both have that peculiarity of being difficult. People here in Brazil loved your matches so far.
Thank you so much! We're glad you're enjoying these videos! Horned King is another fantastic villain as well! We will def get that matchup added to the list!
Appreciate the love! We found the info on the Disney Villainous wiki, coupled with putting together information found in rules text and elsewhere. There hasn't been anything "official," and quite honestly our biggest "issue" with the game, is the open-endedness of card text and interpretation. I think the way we played it is "correct," but you could most certainly choose to play the opposite way, in which if one of the cards is playable, that card has to be chosen.
@@hobbiesnhappiness yea I find that a lot with Lady Tremaine mostly out of all the Disney Villians, but you guys do a great job and usually play the way I play as well! Also for ingredients only first one goes to the side the second copy goes in discard I believe
@@dominickjojola4844 Well we appreciate that! Thank you! You are correct! "If you play an Ingredient that you've played before, do what it says, then discard it." Another one we missed :|
I've played Villainous for years. It's situational but I think a card can only be chosen when it's legally able to be played, even if it says choose the fate card 😉
What time are you referring too? I don’t believe that is technically stated anywhere. Our understanding is and has been you can choose a card even if it can’t legally be played. Don’t believe there’s a ruling anywhere that states otherwise. We’d be interested to know if there is however.
Does anyone know if you defeat the glass slippers if they can be put back into the game or are the gone forever? Cause ball gown Cinderella says find both glass slippers and put them into play but if you already defeated them do you still do that?
If you've already removed the glass slippers somehow, yes you would still find them and put them in play. Lady Tremaine's Cane doesn't say to remove a Glass Slipper from the game, just to remove it. That would just mean to remove from play. It's also why it states on Ball Gown Cinderella to find the glass slippers and play them. There's no getting around that.
@hobbies + happiness thanks so much, she was one of the first ones we played and my wife didn't realize the cane had an activate on it so she just discarded it every time she took out a slipper and it was driving her crazy lol
Great game! Did you ever figure out at the end if the Lady Tremaine card was supposed to be put back in the discard pile and shuffled in with the rest of the deck before you picked 2 new cards? Thanks!
@@hobbiesnhappiness thank you! I also noticed you have clear sleeves all on all of your cards. Do you recommend a certain brand of plastic sleeves or place to purchase them?
We use Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves. I always suggest checking your local game store first and foremost, but if you don't have one, you can use our affiliate link here: amzn.to/3GKDrrn
We do each player has the opportunity to do one full mulligan. I believe that is what is actually stated in the rulebook? I'd have to double check that, but it is typically how we play it out.
You cannot play the cane to the ballroom. It clearly states in the villain guide only fancy dressed characters can be played there. Reason is so Jaq can steal it. Your videos are nice, but could use some studying on the villains cards and rules.
Hey, appreciate the input! Where are you seeing that info about not being able to play the cane to the ballroom? The cane is an item, and Lady Tremaine's villain guide only states that "four characters" can be played or moved to the ballroom. It doesn't state anything about items not being able to be played there. I think your interpretation is correct, that we shouldn't have been able to play the cane (and the wedding bells) to that location. In this video, it did not end up mattering. This brings up our biggest issue with the game, as much as we enjoy it. The card interactions and rules and not always explicit, and require either looking through the rulebook, or sometimes searching the internet. In our opinion, the interactions/rules can be and should be clearly stated on the card. That being said, I do agree with you that we can be doing better at understanding the cards and rules set. We really do appreciate the input!
We added this information to the description, so that way folks watching will hopefully at least see that we messed up, and they have the correct information for the future. Thanks again for pointing it out for us! We do want to be sure we are correcting ourselves when we make these mistakes. Its all about learning and getting better! Thanks again!
@@hobbiesnhappiness it was stated upon release of Despicable Plots that only 4 cards can be played to the ballroom. It was confirmed by Lord of the Board cause you could just stack all the items in there and Jaq would be useless from the fate deck. Also, thematically your villain wouldn't want those items messing up your daughter and son-in-law dancing together.
That's fair. You shouldn't have to do a lot of research in order to play the game "correctly." Understand the thematic point as well, that does make sense. All in all, part of playing these games, and pretty much all tabletop games is learning as you go. As you can tell, we continue to learn more and more about the game and each individual villain the more we play. As we learn, we do our best to point out our mistakes so we can help others learn as well.

Hades and Doctor Facilier will get be added to the list for sure! Dr. Facilier is a super fun and unique villain to play!
Another rules clarification. When you play the ingredients for Evil Queen, after the first copy of the ingredient, they do go into the discard pile. There should only ever be the four ingredients under the board. This is important because you can draw into them over and over again.
The evil step mothers competing against each other.

Yes! We realized way after the fact and made sure to note that for future games, thanks!

Those two villains were well matched. Another close game!

I would love to see either Maleficent vs Lady Tremaine or Maleficent vs Evil Queen.

Oh we will definitely be doing Marvel as well! Thanks for the love!
10:50 David forgot to draw 3 power. I would keep and eye out for that. My personal opinion always draw power first.

It was for the Viscious practical jokes card at 12:11 but I've double checked and you were correct about being able to choose it so soz.
@@snakestaffmagic4499 That's what I thought! Thanks for the double check!
A matchup I would like too see is Cruella De Vil vs Ratigan. The reason I like Ratigan is because his objective can change.
I love me some Ratigan as well! We will add that to our list for sure!
Could you do a ranking about all 21 villains?
Can't say we've really thought about it...we may have to do something like that in the future!

And I think Lucifer’s effect is always active
Are your cards sleeved?
Yes they are!
