I actually played pete in my most recent game. I was up against 4 other people, those being ursula, scar, prince john, and yzma. I lost. I got 3 of my 4 goals, but lets just say, round up got difficult when everyone was able to see what you needed to win.
9:00 I'm pretty sure that if you can't play one of the fate cards that you have to play the other one. You would have to play the rose in this situation. Even if you didn't have to it would be worth it to remove one obstacle to re-fate Gaston. You guys should do more of these Villainous playthroughs. They are fun to watch and with 21 villains, there are so many possible combinations, especially if you add a third person like you did one other time.
That was a close and fun match. Villainous is my favorite game. These villains are unique in a lot of ways. For next match up, Scar and Yzma might be interesting since both require killing heroes.
I'm loving the videos of Villainous. What a mass Gaston vs Pete can make in the next video Madame Tremaine vs Evil Queen or Yzma vs Cruella de Vil. After Hades vs. Doctor Facilier these confrontations are going to be epic.
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on 1v1 Villainous. It's very much a push and pull style of game, and a really strong fate is hard to take, but in those situations (like an It Is You that puts back 3 or 4 obstacles, or a Goofy that switches 2 goals you're about to meet) you have to then get a good fate on your opponent. The thing is, most fate cards are really situational, so if you draw them at the wrong time, they have no value. That's how they get away with putting cards that can seem devastating in the fate decks, as long as they aren't *always* good. Evil Queen is my favorite villain to play, would love to see you play her and hear your thoughts on her!
Totally hear you! It's always a feel bad when you go to fate and both of your cards turn up as do nothings in a crucial moment! Evil Queen is super fun and really unique! We'll definitely be getting her villain cards onto the table!
I do not want to be critical, but in the 6 matches I have seen there is two obvious playing styles. One player is playing to their win conditions and one player is contentiously trying to be cute and is playing cards that are not needed. I understand they are trying to set stuff up for later, but sometimes their is no later. PLAY towards you win condition and the rest will fall in to place @@hobbiesnhappiness
Maurice's Invention was misprinted for the first print run; it is intended to attach to a Hero, and to not have or add Strength. Its Ability otherwise is unchanged.
The cards for villainous fit standard sleeves perfectly. We use Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves for the majority of our card games. I'm pretty new to the game and was wondering whether it is mandatory to only play an Effect card if a 'Play a Card' action is available in the pawn's location, or whether it can be played at any time even if no 'Play a Card is available at the location, or if 'Play a Card' has already been used to play an Ally or Item? it does not specify in the Instruction Manual.
Appreciate the kind words! It is not mandatory to only play an "effect" card when you have a "Play a Card" action available to you. You can play any card (except for conditions), as long as you have the required amount of power to pay for it. The only time you can play your cards is by having a "Play a Card" action available to use. Hope this helps!
Yeah Dan took 4 actions there. He first gained the 1 power immediately, it wasn’t specifically called out, then fated and chose Lumiere, played the Bandit card, then ended his turn by discarding.
Wait.... in the last turn shouldn't have Gaston picked Minnie Mouse as a fate and discard one of the items from Pete's location preventing him from winning that turn? Honest question, I still haven't played the game, waiting for it to come this week so I've been waring up with some videos. By the way a pretty cool video if I do say so myself! ^_^
If you wanted to play most optimally yes. It was getting to that point in the game where Jim was very antsy to have the game over lol, so he normally plays that way towards the end 😅
Also, the goal is only start your turn with at least three items at the location, not four, so even if Minnie was played, 3 items would still be there.
Normally. The exception is Lady Tremaines “And One More Thing,” That has the effect where that player can draw back up to 4 cards while the effect resolves. Pretty great card!

Gaston really seems like a phoned in character design. Wolves as Allies? No Tom Dick or Stanley? A bunch of events reflecting the Beast’s Temper? No guns, bows, swords, knife items? Instead eggs? Which can be played on wolves? Really disappointed with the character
I tried so hard to enjoy these guys but it seem like they didn't even care to play the game. Which made me careless about the entire game and them. Not coming back.

I play that we can’t fate each other on the first turn. 😂😂 don’t know if that’s the actual rules but my friends and myself have this rule.

I’m a bit confused at the 30 min mark. The trap card got played but I didn’t see four actions taken place by the opponent. Can you explain that move?

Dragon Sleeve clear mattes! I have been using Dragon Shields for awhile, and really like their sleeves!
I found prince John vs maleficent to be a really fun one as they are both very quick to their goals so there’s an idea for you guys!
