    You shouldnt have been able to Snarfblatt Triton as he is locked inside of the lair. Interesting that you did that when just moments prior, you confirmed that nothing can be played/moved to or moved from a locked location. 😂

      😂 As you can see, we still have a lot to learn and remember with Ursula. I think our focus during that interaction was moving items/heroes into our out of locked locations. We didn't even think about the attaching of items (even though we spelled it out previously 🤣😂)!

    Hatless Guy's problem was playing Triton to the lair. He only had one option for a binding contract and limits his ability to transform

      True. I believe the thought process at the time was the overall objective was to have the trident at the lair.

    The biggest problem with Jafar is there's only one golden scarab in his deck, same thing with hook he needs the one map of Neverland to play, meanwhile the red queen's win condition is all of her ally's which is half of her deck and she needs one of the three long shots she has and she wins

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад

      Yeah that's always an issue when playing decks that require a very linear strategy, and that strategy relies on a single card in your deck. That card will inevitably be the bottom card of you deck at some point...and that's happened to me plenty of times before lol 🤣

    Abu had the lamp.

    Alladin fated. Can he take the lamp to hero side?
    A lot conflicting awnsers on the interwebs.

      Short answer, yes, when Aladdin comes into Jafars realm through that fate action, as long as he gets played to the same location where the lamp is, he can "steal" the lamp.

    Ursula's two Allies (Flotsam and Jetsam) are essentially useless since she does not have a Vanquish action in her realm. Also why do they have a strength of 4 since Ursula uses Contracts to defeat the Heroes? I don't remember Jim playing either one of her Allies.

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад +2

      So her allies Flotsam and Jetsam are not used for vanquishing purposes, but rather both have the activate symbol on them so they are able to be activated for their effect. They're both able to move heroes from their locations to an adjacent unlocked location.

      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад +2

      😂🤣😂 HA! No he was definitely calling it "Giant Growth" as sort of a joke 😅. If you're unfamiliar, "Giant Growth" is an actual card in Magic: the Gathering, and was in the original set from 1993. As we're big Magic players, and much more familiar with Magic cards than any other card game, "Giant Growth" is very common place to say, so when there's a card that is super close in name to one we're familiar with...it's a habit 😄

  • @jackskellingtonsora

    Ursula is absolutely brutal. She's the worst character in the original box, by far, pretty poorly designed. Her strategy is very odd and reactionary and requires playing around Ariel and Return to Form and using the Crown as much as possible. She's a hero that doesn't really get to clear her board so you want to stick around the Lair so that when Return to Form makes Ariel pop out, she has to be played to the Lair making her useless.

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад

      Oh yeah def one of the most difficult villains to play, especially in the core set for sure.

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  Год назад

      At that point in the game, Dan only had enough power to control Sultan. The cost to get Genie was 8 power at that point I believe.

  • @susmerx
    @susmerx 2 года назад +1

    Why did Jim have to pay 6 power for the contract on Triton?

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад +1

      The contract costs 2, the snarfblat attached to him makes contracts cost 3 more, then King Triton's effect adds an additional 1 for a total of 6

  • @bjacks91
    @bjacks91 2 года назад +1

    Return to form honestly makes Ursula not fun to play. The fact that it works for a hero of 4 or more makes it damn near impossible to win. Not to mention she has one activate symbol, and it’s at the top of her lair, which is locked for 50% of the game and as soon as it’s covered by a hero, you’re done.
    Ursula is my favorite Disney villain but my absolute least favorite villain to play

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад

      Dan - Yeah I enjoyed playing Ursula initially, but she just turned out to be such a slog to play. I think as each set was released, they learned more and more and made each villain better and more fun to play imo.

    • @jackskellingtonsora
      @jackskellingtonsora 2 года назад +2

      The only thing I can say for Return to Form is that you have to play the hero at Ursula's location. So when you're expecting it to happen, you need to make sure you're at the Lair so that Ariel is useless. Ursula is a character that doesn't really clear her board at all and just kind of stacks heroes at Eric's Ship, so the fate deck will inevitably be whittled down to just return to forms. If you can make sure Ariel is played to Ursula's Lair, that's it. She and Return to Form are never useful again. The fact the activate symbol is on the top of the lair, too, is a good reason to make sure to keep it clear with whirlpools and poor unfortunate souls and grow giant for the move a hero action at the palace. You want to play the crown early and you want to activate it as much as possible.
