The Acolyte Sued For Anti-Male Sexism As Disney implode

  • Disney have continued to go downhill with every new release it seems, and The Acolyte was no different. As the Disney Star Wars show was quite possibly the worst performing Disney release yet, with every episode of The Acolyte being destroyed by both audiences and online critics. But now with some new information it may seem as though The Acolyte was also behind Disney being sued for Anti-Male discrimination, while it's not a certified fact, it definitely appears so, as Disney took various actions in the build up to The Acolyte that may suggest it was.

Male empowering movie: The male hero is weaker than the antagonist, the hero must get stronger, then the hero triumphs over the antagonist
Female empowering movie: The female hero is already stronger than the male antagonist who is so pathetic that there's no explanation of why they're in power, so the hero doesn't need to get stronger, she just has to find herself, and then i guess she triumphs over oppression?

Aren't earlier female empowering movies from before the mid-2010s actually the same formula as for the male empowering ones, because let's face it, that was back when they got standards on how to write proper heroes 😅😅

All women everywhere are automatically granted the "victim" status and therefor the superiority status, regardless of objective circumstances. Sometimes they bother to establish this in the plot as justification for her-revenge, sometimes they don't even bother doing that. Her superior victim status is already established in their mind. Just get to his humiliating defeat. Yay guuurl powah.

And even though she would have the power to give HER children features of the other women shes aparently in a relationship with, she chooses not to. AND she decides to throw that into her partners face: "You just carried them, i created them. You dumb incubator you are nothing!".
How narcissistic and pathetic does a human being have to be to write a script like this without realizing what is happening here.

It´s funny how a fandom is so selective in being "toxic".
Remember "Rogue One"? The protagonist was female, the lead guy latino, the crew were east and central asian. The only "major" role that was portrayed by a white guy was Director Krennic, the antagonist. Where was the toxic fandom?
Remember "Andor"? The show named after its protagonist, who is again played by a latino? It had lots of women in very different positions of power on both sides of the conflict, some of them even in a romantic relationship with each other. Where was the toxic fandom?
Remember "The Mandalorian"? The show named after its protagonist, a different latino this time. Besides Grogu, an alien baby, the vast majority of the cast was played by either non-white males or women. Where was the toxic fandom?
Even if there was an agenda within these products, it did not replace talent, passion and quality within the writing and acting department. Since there simply was no outrage connected to these products, there´s just no truth to the claim that the SW fandom is whatever kind of -ist. Yes, I know, there are of course certain people, but even in the strangest corners of the internet, you´d have to scroll for a while to find somebody who says that he disliked "The Acolyte" because there were women in it and he would like to return to baroque central Europe where acting was only for men, even the female roles.

female protagonists and female groups CAN be done well, prime example is the Nightsisters: Agile and stealthy, cunning and capable of dark magik. The Zabraks on Dathomir live amongst themselves on the opposites side of the planet: Strong and Sturdy, brave and capable of great physical feats. They all live (relatively) peacefully as long as respect is maintained and the Zabraks know not to challenge the Nightsister Magik

I don't think there is anything defending Disney SW EU at this point. The Acolyte is a giant pothole in a road with a string of smaller potholes left behind. After The Last Jedi severely divided the fanbase and made almost half the money as Force Awakens, Acolyte was the final nail in the coffin. Ideology has become more important than art. George Lucas no longer looks at Disney as a credible source of SW content creation. Disney calling its fans misogynists while embracing outright misandry.
In an attempt to be fair, the Acolyte could have been interesting in some aspects. Osha and Mae could have been orphans that the witches tried to infuse the force to make them force users (One of them becomes evil, but the word "Sith" is never really implied). The witches could have been members of the Nightsisters instead of being some odd nobody group. The show could have focused more on Sol to make it a more detective-like show. More efforts could have been made to hire writers and a director who knew the prequels instead of not knowing it, having to seek out others who had some knowledge of SW (Dave Filoni), or outright retcon it. More balancing could have been made to polish the story instead of having numerous scene reshoots and poorly mis-mashed events pieced together. Instead, the show is a 180-million-dollar mess that's likely to help push into lawsuit territory.
