But to make things even worse for Disney it seems RUclips movie critics like The Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic and others have brought this to the attention of Elon Musk, who is now funding a massive lawsuit against Disney, which may end up being the biggest lawsuit in Hollywood history.

      Hiring by skin tone doesn't help Black people or other minority groups, all it does is cause self doubt amongst those individuals that were hired. People shouldn't be asking themselves,
      "Was I actually good enough or was I picked to play the part of Token?"
      Then there's the issues with quality of the product being secondary to Activist checklists. When the Audience doesn't like the half baked crap that's being served to them then all of a sudden the audience is the problem. Because activists ignore one the key rules of business,
      "The customer is always right in matters of taste."
      The workers and end product suffers from DEI, and the Audience grows apathetic.

      What they (Disney) are worried about is a wide shot of all of their heroes in a line showing "too much white." The worst part about it all is that no one has the creativity anymore to create something new with a cast of random people. Instead, they take the low road and swap existing characters, feeling like they did some kind of good work. They're all delusional. Write a unique story and hire for roles based on ability. As long as they are not deliberately trying to screen out certain groups, they will have diversity. And to everyone that wants a role or wants a job, work toward it. I'm black, went to college, became a pilot and am now a manager in a national transportation company. Not once have I felt that my race has prevented me from getting where I want to be. But I started at the bottom and worked my way up. No one should think they should be able to skip past the entry level roles straight to billionaire. Regardless of where you are hired or who you are, you do your best in the role you are given so no one has a reason not to advance you in your career. This literally applies to everyone from any background. So people need to be stop being lazy and expecting things to be given to them. I worked hard to get where I am. If you aren't where you want to be, ask yourself if you've honestly put in the effort. Rant complete. =o)

    Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
    Pinocchio
    Dumbo
    Bambi
    Cinderella
    Alice in Wonderland
    Peter Pan
    Lady and the Tramp
    Sleeping Beauty
    One Hundred and One Dalmatians

    Meanwhile musk's own factory is full of bias and discrimination of other groups in HIS work place. Don't get me wrong, Disney openly discriminating against white male employees is infuriating all for the sake of "diversity". I mean seeing the DOGSHIT Disney is making and the celebrities interviewed bragging about being black, or being gay, or being a woman is peak cringe and lame as hell.

    • @schwaaard
      @schwaaard 3 месяца назад +3

      I'm not fully abreast of what Musk's companies have been accused of, or confirmed of doing, so I might be way off here. But I'd suspect a key difference is being accused of discriminatory practices versus bearing witness to evidence of the same. People can falsely accuse any company of having discriminatory practices, and may even get a settlement just to avoid smearing the company's name. But in Disney's case, we have seen, and are seeing, undeniable evidence of overt racism and sexism with no room for nuance or context.
      As for Musk personally, I don't champion him as anything per se. I don't know him personally, so I don't know if he carries some racism in his heart. But having a secretly racist manager or HR rep somewhere in a company doesn't reflect on the values of the owner who probably had no part in the hiring process. A company can be guilty of instances of racism with only a few people knowing about it. --That said, if there are stated company policies that clearly indicate bias or one of the "isms" (as is the case with Disney), the responsibility certainly falls on the shoulders of leadership.

      @@888thawk It's not being dense, it's being ignorant. As I said, I'm not familiar with Musk on any significant level, so I'm not aware of the conditions in which he was raised. --But speaking of ignorance, I'd say assuming someone's personal views based on where they grew up is a clear example of it. There's plenty that goes on in any country that the populace does not support or accept. Implying that Musk is racist, or actively employs racist policies because he grew up in South Africa is a gross generalization at best.
      And I'm not sure where cognitive dissonance enters the picture, as there is no demonstrative difference between behavior and belief, let alone an indication of discomfort with such a difference.

    Critical drinker has quickly become one of the most important movie critics in the last couple years. He is not only the face of the anti-woke-bullshit movement, he is also a huge influence on audiences on whether to consume a product or not. He eloquently and clearly articulates the issues people have with modern movies, even if they themselves may not be able to put a finger on them.

This was a person looking for work who was being judged not by her conduct, qualifications, or character, but specifically upon her skin colour. Sorry, but isn't that the exact definition of racism? 😢

      I have (well, had, sadly) a friend who did a deep dive into this racism after spending five years in academia. My suspicion is guilt stemming from some measure of racism in themselves or from close family members. Or, perhaps worse, guilt at alleged racism in themselves or others, cultivated by lies from media and trusted authorities.

      @@schwaaard Why does all this stuff come out of the US? How did it get there?

    • @schwaaard
      @schwaaard 3 месяца назад

      @@HENRYGCOLLINS Well, I think part of it comes from an inability to extricate the country from its past--a past that has been embellished on by our media and education system, amongst other things. Yes, slavery existed, but less than 2% of the US population owned any. It wasn't some widespread practice. Yes, discrimination occurred, and there were some really bad laws and ugly situations that happened as a result. But again, it wasn't as rampant as we are lead to believe. While remembering these events of our history is important, indulging them and making films and shows that do nothing but enshrine and dramatize them is counterproductive.
      There has been a fixation, particularly in academia, with trying to keep sins of the past as grotesque and top-of-mind as possible. Some professionals make their entire career about race, which means it must always be at the forefront, and there must always be relevant issues involving it.
      Guilt is a powerful thing, and it can be cultivated by manipulation--manipulation that can come through media like movies, music, and art. The worship of race-centered drama/trauma has gone unchecked in this country, and it was only heightened when Obama took office. (Not blaming him for all of it, but he had a way of ostensibly encouraging the country to move forward in unison while subtly refreshing historical division and accusations.)
      Ultimately, I'm not sure why it has manifested in the US so much. I think some level of guilt has festered with the populace based on what they were taught. That guilt prevented anyone from saying, "Okay, enough with the race porn", and has resulted in an abundance of art and careers hinging on it.
      We still have movies that are being released that seem to have no other purpose than to say, "Remember this horrible thing that happened!". And for what purpose? How does society grow, heal or move forward by revisiting tragedies with a dramatic flourish?
      Fortunately, anger is beginning to destroy the guilt that people have unwittingly and unnecessarily carried around. It has taken a complete return to racist and discriminatory practices for people to start saying, "This obsession is disgusting and counterproductive, and allowing it to reach its natural conclusion has allowed us to see how vile and wicked it actually is."

      Very true. I don't think it was because they were all white and all male (probably not your conclusion either), but simply because the focus was on bringing aboard talented folks...who at that time happened to be white and male. --And, just like today, there could have been someone of a different race or sex who would have been great, but there was another barrier of entry preventing an opportunity (where they lived, their official schooling, their awareness of the position, etc..,)

    I only disagree with one thing, sir - I do NOT want to see them regroup and come back. This company needs to be made an example of. Hollywood needs to be reminded that, if the public doesn't like what they're selling, we don't NEED to give them a cent. Entertainment is a luxury, NOT a necessity... and traditionally, it's the first thing people STOP spending money on when times get tight. If people get sick of their crap, we have TWO OR MORE MILLENNIA of literature, art, and music already "in the can" - we really DON'T need their garbage.
