  • @bar8419
    @bar8419 7 месяцев назад

    Thank you. I am going to try this. Do you think this will work on a 3.5 year popliteus muscle injury i got going down stairs? It doesn't hurt in the back, but I realize now it is really larger/swollen more than my other knee. Is it possible deep massage like this can make my knee straighten out again? Its a bit bent and I sort of hobble though now stablized) and I am so sick of it. Thank you.

    • @FeelGoodLife
      @FeelGoodLife  7 месяцев назад

      Hey @bar8419! It's great that you're trying this treatment. For a long-term popliteus muscle injury like yours, proceed carefully. Deep massage can help with muscle tightness, but it's essential to consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice and treatment recommendations. Take care and best wishes for your recovery!

    should we be able to feel the popliteus muscle itself when palpating. Also quick question can a tight popliteus cause caching in open chain knee extension? Thanks

    • @FeelGoodLife
      @FeelGoodLife  2 года назад +1

      This muscle is almost impossible to isolate since it’s so deep, so you’re massaging over the area more than you’re looking to feel the single muscle. It could cause a catching sensation in your knee because it rotates your tibia in open chain extension.

    I can feel fine in the morning but when I sit down for an hour my knee feels something like it’s asleep but painful ? And it seems this was created in my opinion by me laying in bed with pillows under my knee ?!? Is it the p. ? Muscle?

    • @FeelGoodLife
      @FeelGoodLife  2 года назад

      What is your sitting posture like? We tend to sit with our feet crossed or our knees bent and folded under us, that could be contributing to pain while sitting. The ideal sitting position is to sit with both feet flat on the floor and your thighs parallel to the floor.

    • @FeelGoodLife
      @FeelGoodLife  2 года назад +1

      You’re most likely strumming a nerve that runs through the back of the knee. Try adjusting your position a little towards the outside of the knee and see if that changes what you’re feeling.

    damn I thought I had a pcl strain or tear. Clearly i am able to walk and bear load on the affected knee. zero pain in my knee when I move it, but I can’t land after a jump without feeling a strain in the back of the knee.

    • @FeelGoodLife
      @FeelGoodLife  Год назад

      I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing knee pain,
      @anonanon-mx5wg. 😔Since we aren't able to do a physical exam and see exactly what is going on with your knee, I can't for sure recommend what exercises you should do. Even though you're not feeling pain during regular movements, the strain you're experiencing might be related to a specific motion or position that puts stress on the back of your knee. It could be a minor strain, sprain, or irritation of the structures around the knee joint. In the meantime, you might consider avoiding activities that exacerbate the discomfort and practicing gentle stretches or exercises that don't aggravate the issue. I suggest for you to consult a healthcare professional, preferably a sports medicine doctor or an orthopedic specialist. They can perform a thorough evaluation, possibly including imaging tests, to determine the exact cause of your symptoms and recommend an appropriate course of action.
      I have a great resource that might also help you. Please check out this link: feelgoodlife.com/pain-in-back-of-the-knee/
