I do think the Sentinel can be useful in some cases, mainly for protecting flank routes and spawns where trash like to go. However if your team is pretty good at managing trash quickly, then it's not needed. I will say though my favorite way of using it is to place one behind a welded door, which'll give me some free kills and keep zeds off of the door for quite a while, though the HRG Bombardier does a better job with groups. Sentinels don't trigger Fleshpounds and Scrakes to enrage, but they still effect the damage that's needed to enrage them. So if one's shooting at a Fleshpound for a bit, then the moment he takes any damage from any player, it'll enrage.
I sometimes take Impact Rounds and Eat Lead on boss waves, mainly because I know I'm not gonna be the MVP for boss damage so might as well remove the instances of down time and help stagger the boss.
Lastly do note that when trying to extend zed time that decapitating a zed doesn't refesh zed time if the zed's still alive. this is most notable for bloats, so I'd ignore them unless you have the firepower to shoot their body.

There are some very high end things that I think you don't mention.
1st is that, contrary to what people usually do, it is better not to try to make perfect extensions. This is because trying to do perfect extensions greatly increases the probability of dropping zedtime. It's better to try to make "good enough" extensions. Consistency in zed time is the best resource.
2º The general mechanic that everyone knows is to leave 6 zeds alive to be able to extend when zedtime arrives, but there is also another mechanic that consists of forcing the spawn of zeds. This is done by "hiding." Zeds only spawn when there is no chance of you seeing them spawn. If you hide, you will activate spawns that you were previously blocking by seeing them, this can be useful when there is not enough trash to potentially extend zedtime.
3º The zedtime has a cooldown of 10 seconds. This means that once the zedtime ends, you will have to wait at least 10 seconds until the next zedtime.
If the command extends zedtime when it's not needed, you can create situations where zedtime ends, fp/sc spawns, and you're forced to deal with them without zedtime because it's on cooldown.
This is solved by intentionally dropping (not extending) the zedtime when it is not needed.
This way you will be forcing the zedtime to refresh when you know you don't need it, so you can have it when you need it.
This requires having direct communication with your team members, to know when the team needs the zedtime and when it doesn't, although you can also do it with some security in the first zedtime of each round, since it usually arrives when they have not yet spawned largues.

Are you sure about point 3? An in depth reddit post about zed time extension states the following: "Minimum interval between two ZED Times is 10 seconds. Cooldown starts right at the *beginning* of each ZED Time.".

    • @ZkEcropucioVI
      @ZkEcropucioVI 7 месяцев назад

      @@ExperiencedNoob_

I think it is not well explained where you looked at it. It probably refers to the start of each zedtime extension. This could be it, although from my own experience, I would say that there is something wrong.
This information is not usually given, but I believe that each extension can last up to 3.75 seconds. It is usually said that they last a maximum of 3, but there are mods that allow you to add automatic zedtime extensions, and these can be regulated up to 3.75 seconds in duration for each extension, which makes me suspect that they are 3.75 and not 3 seconds.
This would mean, that the zedtime could appear again after 6.25 (10-3.75) seconds. I haven't personally timed the time between zedtimes, but 6.25 seems too little to me, and I tend to play games that allow the zedtime to come out quickly since I play with good sharps.
What I can assure you is that the cooldown does not start counting from the moment the zedtime appears. think that zedtime can easily last more than 10 seconds. That would allow zedtimes to exist above other zedtimes. Which 100% does not happen.

    • @ExperiencedNoob_
      @ExperiencedNoob_ 7 месяцев назад

      @@ZkEcropucioVI
You make a very convincing argument there! Having zed times chain into each other like that, if they are longer than 10 seconds, is something that doesn't happen, so the reddit post was probably wrong about it.
I'm gonna pay more attention to that in my next few sharpshooter games and maybe even time it if i feel like i got 2 zed times very close together.
      Thanks for the quick reply!

I keep on telling people this, but always pick Eat Lead over Hollow Point Rounds. Outside of getting trapped in a corner, reloading is when you're going to be most vulnerable, and the amount of damage your gun can do in one magazine with Eat Lead vs Hollow Point Round is a no contest.
If we take the minigun, with Hollow Point Rounds it does 38 + 30% x 180 = 8820 damage.
With Eat Lead it does 38 x 300 rounds = 11400(!) damage which is a significant increase.
Doesn't matter what gun you pick, the math is always going to work in favour of Eat Lead vs Hollow Point Rounds.

    • @drunkbunny94
      @drunkbunny94 6 месяцев назад +3

Because you can break damage thresholds which generally makes it more effective than the 30% you see.
For example the AR15/L85/Stoner with 30% extra damage go from 2 shotting to 1 shotting gorefasts, you also 1 shot body shot stalkers with the L85, 401 MedAR, M16 so in those instances you are getting 100% more kills per magazine and a faster TTK to boot. Theres too many to list them all but huge difference.
Because its more damage per shot you have higher burst DPS this burst is useful because there are zeds we want to be able to kill faster.
Gorefiends come to mind, knocking a bullet off the kill time means we can 2-3 tap them in the head killing them before they can block this is especially noticable with the AR15.
Its also very important for engaging large zeds as they rage and move very fast you want to make sure you can burst them down.
This makes your total damage reserve (total ammo x damage per bullet) higher allowing you to kill more with the same ammo.
Basically Hollow Points is also prepared.
Plus at level 5 we get extended mags which already solves the problem of some weapons having small mags (also eat lead stacks additively here so it diminishes to a 66.6% larger mag if you already have extended mags).
Not to mention most of the reloads are already super fast so by being able to kill everything faster gives you more down time to get those reloads in.
The trouble is theres some weapons that have very long reloads that want tact reload over extended mags (basically minigun, stoner, MG3) because putting off a reload you can almost never perform safely is just not a good idea when you can make it safer in the first place, they likely are going to benefit more from eat lead as you are actually getting a 100% magazine increase from it and reloading less is actually a big deal.
Theres also going to be weapons that scale better with larger mags, specifically those that dont benefit from any/many new thresholds (like maybe the SCAR or MKB as they hit most trash thresholds already) but yeah hollow points are just very good.

@@drunkbunny94 This isn’t Call of Duty where you have to be able to unload your magazine in a fraction of a millisecond or your enemy might turn around and kill you in a fraction of a millisecond.
I’ve played games where I fought crowds of zeds including large zeds and been able to unload an entire 300 round minigun into them before any of them can even lay a finger on me. Only time they get up to me is guess when? When I run out of ammo and have to reload. Damage per second means little in this game especially in comparison to damage per magazine. Since unless you have the slowest reaction time in the world, you should be able to unload an entire magazine into zeds before they close the distance.
I can take your argument and flip it around to further emphasize how little DPS means in this game. Pretty much all low level zeds you can kill in one head shot with most Commando weapons. Further emphasize by how pretty much all low level zeds take bonus damage from assault weapons anyways. So 30% damage is basically just a waste of ammo as it’s like going from 75 damage to 98 damage when the enemy only need 50 damage on the head to die.
If enemies are blocking their heads, then body shot them. Often gets them to unblock their heads. Which is why having more ammo is going to be useful in those scenarios.
Large zeds aren’t going to die from a single magazine from most weapons in 6 player games, so it’s pointless with them. With the only exceptions being high magazine weapons like the minigun, in which case you should be using Eat Lead with it. Damage per magazine matters most with large zeds because the last thing you want to be doing is reloading in the midst of fighting them. I know because I’ve used both Hollow Point Rounds and Eat Lead and found out Eat Lead is significantly more useful in literally every scenario. Again unless you have the slowest reaction time on the planet, you should be able to unload your entire magazine into most zeds before they ever reach you.
“Not to mention most of the reloads are already super fast so by being able to kill everything faster gives you more down time to get those reloads in.”
Bigger the magazine = less reloading needed period
It’s shocking how little gamers grasp this concept. If their magazine is bigger, then the odds of them needing to reload (especially in the midst of battle where it’s most important) drops significantly. Being able to kill all your enemies on screen before the next batch arrives in one magazine will always trump having to reload while enemies are right in front of your face.
Not to mention bigger magazine literally means the less you have to reload your weapon period. I’ll take the minigun to emphasize this.
A minigun with 30% damage + extended mags will need to be reloaded 4 times if you have the full 600 spare ammo. Guess how many times you have to reload the minigun with Eat Lead + extended mags with the full 600 spare ammo? 2! Only 2 times you have to reload the minigun in the entire round. A significant drop in how many times the weapon needs to be reloaded in a wave.
“The trouble is theres some weapons that have very long reloads that want tact reload over extended mags (basically minigun, stoner, MG3) because putting off a reload you can almost never perform safely is just not a good idea when you can make it safer in the first place, they likely are going to benefit more from eat lead as you are actually getting a 100% magazine increase from it and reloading less is actually a big deal.”
Again being able to kill all enemies onscreen before your magazine runs out before the next batch arrives greatly and will always trump having to reload your weapon in the midst of battle where enemies are going to be in front of your face. In worst case scenarios, just switch to your other weapon if your big magazine guns run dry.

@@BenderDaOffenda The assault rifles do reload increadibly fast, the meta weapons like the SCAR has a 1.4s reload, the 401 has a 1.5s reload, the FAL has a 1.5s reload, the M16 is a blistering 1.35s... The AK12 and L85 are a bit slower at 1.9s.
If zeds are making it to you and hitting you every time you reload to me that says you are holding a bad spot / you have bad aim and the result is you are barely killing the horde about 3ft in front of you so you never have a window to safely reload. Something that ironically more DPS could help to prevent.
Or the only weapons you use are the minigun/MG3/Stoner which all have 3-5 sec reloads.
I'm guessing its the latter as you talk about the minigun so much.
I normally just kill everything in my LoS and then it takes some 3-4 seconds for the next load of zeds to run down the lane which is ample time to do a sub 2 sec reload.
Since i'm already clearing everything and able to get reloads off why not enjoy the faster TTK and extra damage reserve thanks to hollow point rounds.
Eat lead would make sense if the problem was killing trash and getting reloads off (as i said theres some weapons that are going to benefit more than others) but commando is pretty good at killing trash, he struggles with bigger zeds and hollow points fills that weakness.
Speaking of which Commando can 1 mag scrakes with every weapon with the exeption of the AR15, even the L85 does is in about 32 rounds so all you need is extended mags and that'll take about 3.2 seconds - its not even that hard with impact rounds for the stumble.
QP's are mostly a threat because they spawn in groups they're terribly designed (71% head hp not even worth aiming for) so you just toss a frag (hollow point increases frag damage) and spam their body and they die.
FP's can be 1 magged by a a lot of weapons but its not advisable because their DPS is low its not recommended because they're likely to hit you before you can kill them. Like sure if you factor out the miniguns wind up time it should be able to decap in 3.3 seconds, but the FP is going to be running at you making the last second much harder.
Meanwhile the FAL takes 1.9 seconds with hollow point rounds, you can decap as it finishes its predictable rage animation as demonstrated in the video.
That is also why you dont see the LMG's rated as meta. The FAL basically the only weapon that effectively kills FPs, so if need to solo a lane or want to carry/be self reliant you kinda need it. As it weighs 8kg this means LMG's are out of the question. If you're taking a FAL to delete larges you might as well also take extra damage to kill those larges faster as you'll have less time to deal with them if you are on such a lane.

In the case of boss fights, DPS/DPM matters and the minigun technically has a higher dps with High capacity mags paired with Hollow Point rounds.
      HCM & HPR:
      9s Firing 180 rounds
      4.66 Reloading
      13.66s Total
      38*1.55=59 (Dmg is rounded up)
      59*180=10,620
      10,620/13.66s=777 Dps
HCM with Eat lead comes out to 732 Dps.
Due to resistance malarky, the minigun holds its own quite well against bosses and can compete against the FAL in a few cases, especially due to the ammo return from ammo boxes.

    • @Tranquil_Hiker
      @Tranquil_Hiker 5 месяцев назад

Outside of boss fights you'll want the FAL+Scar with HCM+HPR for sure...

And the accessories are the Justice Mask, S10 NBC Mask, and the Vietnam Beret (also paid DLC that you get in the Vietnam Gear Cosmetic Bundle).
I was able to get those 3 accessories to work together because you can glitch accessories on one another if you do "enablecheats" in console and use another console command.
